All people want on a night rate is to be able to programme the charge from say 0000 to 0500. Done. I don’t want to fanny about putting the price cap on, setting the range target amount blah blah. Overly complicating something that is so simple on other chargers. Listen to your customers, look at the forums and see how many people are asking and wanting this very simple basic feature.
So I've just had the ePod installed here in Australia and my app looks nothing like that. I can't set schedules or anything. Is there an updated video guide coming?
My app doesn’t have any of this any the last three nights it hasn’t charged it has always been set up for 23.30-05.30 with octopus intelligent go there is no dynamic charging showing anymore I hate this charger
The first couple of times that I used the charger (Home Pro, on Octopus Intelligent Go tariff), in addition to the blue "smart charging" background screen, the app flashed up a dynamic charging schedule. Hasn't done that since, but everything else plays out as per this video. Has the process changed? Also, am I right that the "estimated total cost" of the charge is not reliable in the Ohme app at this stage of the integration, and I should wait to see what Octopus bill me? With a 64kwh battery I wouldn't expect to be charged over £5 for a full charge at 7.5p per kWh, if smart charging is working correctly - have I understood correctly?
Hello. It should still be showing dynamic charges but it won't show the full range but will just be a pop up, these times are fed to everybody live by octopus so we don't have a more in depth view of them. Can we ask if do you still have push notifications active? Correct, dashboard stats are incorrect but charge stats are not, you can check in there for the more accurate charges, if you want to query about cost of a particular charge let us know which charge and we can advise.
If I edit an active session by increasing the charge I need and thus forcing it to start charging sooner, will that still be at my cheap rate? Or more simply, am I only charged the standard rate when I click ‘max charge’.
Have i got this right? Setting the added range and mileage in a charge schedule means the charger will aim to top up to the target range on top of the residual charge levels? So if i currently have battery level at 30% and schedule +50% it should charge to 80%.
Excellent question! It depends if our app is speaking to your car. If they're connected on the API we will know the car's current charge level. We will then ask your target and so the app will work out how much charge needs to be added. If you're on 30% and you set a target of 80%, the app will work out that we need to add 50%. If the car isn't communicating with the app, the app will ask you to 'add' charge. You'll need to check the car's battery level and top up accordingly, so if you're on 30% and want to be at 80%, you'll need to manually choose to add 50%.
Hi, I've just recieved any email from ohme stating that basically if I put my price cap on it caps my car to omly charge between 23:30-05:30 at 7.5p per kW. But it stats if I do that I could miss out on other charging charging sessions that are cheap.. How is that worked out and how do I know when those sessions are? From my understanding if I turn the price cap off and plug my car in it will charge straight away and also at the higher rate or normal kW price. Here is what it stats on the email. Can I get some clarity please Here's what you need to do next: 1. Create your Charge Schedule. All of your smart charging will be billed at the off-peak rate (yep, all of it, even any energy used to precondition your car), as long as you have a Charge Schedule enabled in the Ohme app. This means, your car may often charge outside of 23:30-05:30. 💡Tip: Octopus Energy recommends plugging in after 17:00 and setting your departure time any time between 04:00 and 11:00. 2. Disable your Price Cap. This is super important to make sure you can fill up your car outside of 23:30-05:30. There are plenty of additional cheap charging slots outside of this window which you won't want to miss. 3. Check your charger is online via the My Charger screen of the Ohme app. If your charger is offline, you'll be billed at peak rate.
Hello, Thank you for commenting, so for the Ohme integration with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, as long as you charge the car on an overnight 'Charge Schedule' (set in the Ohme app > My Charger) with a 'Departure Time' for the next morning, all charging will be considered smart charging and will be billed at the off-peak rates. This is the case whether the charge took place between 23h30 and 5h30 or outside of those times. Octopus and Ohme advise keeping the Price Cap setting disabled in order to benefit from these extra half hour off-peak slots. Please note Octopus do advise to plug the car in after 5pm and set your Departure Time for between 4am and 11am. Before plug-in, make sure your charger is online and connected to the Ohme server. You can check this in the Ohme app on the My Charger page. After plug-in, check that the Ohme app dashboard background stays blue and says 'Smart Charging' at the top, together with the name of your Charge Schedule. This will be the reassurance that all used timeslots for the current session will be billed at the off-peak rates. If you see a red screen and the words "Max Charging" or "Charge to Full ASAP" at the top, this indicates a boost charge is happening. If it seems the Ohme app has not registered the plug-in, or that charging has started, this might mean your charger is offline. Find out here how to get your charger back online : ohme-ev.com/support/my-charger-is-offline/ A boost charge, or an offline charge will mean the current charging will be billed at the higher rate (unless it falls between 23.30 and 05:30am). More information about Intelligent Octopus Go can be found here: ohme-ev.com/support/how-do-i-set-up-intelligent-octopus/ ohme-ev.com/support/optimising-your-charge/ We hope all those links above made it more clear. Price cap for Intelligent Octopus needs to be off because it needs to have freedom to dynamically charge > all charging is billed off-peak. You will know it's off-peak when you have a schedule with the departure time for the next morning, when charging the app and charger will go blue and say "smart charging" - This is your assurance that no matter when it's charging (with price cap off) it is being billed as off-peak Hope all this makes sense. If you've got any more questions, please email us at help@ohme-ev.com then we will respond.
Great question! You can integrate your Octopus tariff with your Ohme charger. We have an excellent page on our Help Centre to explain the details - bit.ly/3ZgNlvW
Hi Matt - you can indeed have the app on multiple phones, it's just a case of them signing in using the same details (email address etc). It can be a little more tricky if you signed up with your Apple ID as they'll need to be on the same account.
The app is as clear as Mud and the instructions are not very good. help on the phone is lacking not impressed and again I will say the other app was easyer to set up time start time stop charging. the answer to this given is not working for me so help on the app would be better then removing my comment
Hi John, we're sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the app. We have Customer Care team here who can help. Please send us an email at help@ohme-ev.com and someone will reach out quickly.
This app is not user friendly. I've just had my charger installed and I cant tell if its charging on the cheap Intelligent Octopus rate. The app is not clear enough. It flashed up a charging schedule on the charging page for a short while with the different times it was going to charge but thats now disappeared.
Hi I need to set it so it only charges from 00:30 - 04:30. Can I set that time, or set don't charge above 9p (which would do the same thing). Or do I manually need to work out what percentage I need to get to in a 4 hour charge and set the leaving time for 04:30?
Hello, Thank you for commenting, there is a small button that needs to be pressed down to release the charger from the wall dock. If you need any help with finding the button or any queries, please do email us at help@ohme-ev.com then a member of the team will assist you further.
@ohme475 Hi, I dont have a button on the charger Dock to take out charger. I had the charger fitted 2 weeks ago can't even charge at once. I have emailed Ohme few times but no one contacted me.

When you delete the app and say all your data is lost that's rubbish when you reinstall it it is still there. buy something else
Hello Kevin, We regret to hear that you had such a negative experience with our customer service. We value good communication and effective customer support at Ohme and we sincerely apologise if this has not been your experience. As a security feature, we only support one account to be linked to the charger at a time. However, you could sign in on both phones using the same credentials.
This is only possible though if the account was set up using the "Create an account using email" option as Apple ID, Gmail or Facebook are linked to your personal device.
If you would have linked the charger to an account that can't be accessed from the second device, please let us know as we can de-link the account for you and you can set it up again using an email address you could both access. Do let me know should this not be clear or if you should require any additional information. We will investigate into the data issue for you.
Great question! You'll need to have the app initially so we've got the charger assigned to you on our system and to ensure certain security features are switched off so as to ensure that you don't need to approve each charge via the app. However, once that's done, you can just control it via the charger itself if you wish - just plug it in and go.
Complete rubbish Forced to change to this charger on Motability and it’s not an improvement. It may well have cost me a lot more to charge as foolishly I didn’t check until now when it starts to charge Before my charger only charged between 12:30 and 04:30 at 7.5 p per kw hour. Doesn't match what I am seeing on the app today ? New install Aug 24?
You have no idea how much this video helped me, thank you so much!
The app does not allow you to set a 'start' time e.g. to start when reduced night tariff kicks in. This is a basic need.
Great vid and very helpful. Makes using the app simple.

Why can’t they make it simple like this….
