Keep the Bird bangers coming bro. Greatest small forward who ever laced up the shoes...

And he did it all with a busted finger and a broken back. Imagine if he’d been healthy.

Dennis Johnson "DJ" was my favorite player and still is of all time! Love him and RIP!
I'm from Boston and loved Bird as well but DJ was amazing as well. These 2 had that chemistry that you can't predict and it's so fluid and natural.

Subbed. Love your reaction and I always know when young people start watching a few Larry Bird games, they’re hooked. You know you’re watching greatness. I was blessed to watch him in real time and actually see him play a few times in person. Anyway if nobody has told you there is a documentary called Bird and Magic: A Courtshiphip of Rivals. It’s truly one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. It shows how different they were and how much a like they were and how they went from bitter rivals to best friends. I think you can watch it on TH-cam. Thanks for your great enthusiasm and helping to keep 80s basketball alive!

Nick does such a good job of putting the footage with the players stories. I appreciate the work that goes into it. It is fun to watch you react to an older player that you don't know much about. I watched Bird back in the day and it is fun to see with fresh eyes

That was a fun compilation. It's funny how everyone had a certain IDEA about Larry...till they played with, or especially against, him. They seem always come away with one of two things, usually both...
    How BIG Larry is...
    And
    How UNSTOPPABLE/SKILLED Larry is.
And it didn't matter WHO it was.
Oh, the first guy was Gary Payton, THE GLOVE. He is touted as one of the best defenders ever.
By the time he played Larry, Larry was barely able to play because of his back. Still got schooled by Larry. But, unlike lesser players, Payton took that lesson and became a better player.

People who really know the game realize how good Bird was.
Why would Nolan Richardson, in is Hall of Fame induction speech tell a Larry Bird story - he never coached Bird or coached against Bird
but you recognize greatness when you see it.
All these great NBA players have these stories about what is was like to play against Bird.
Did you hear what Charles Barkley said? In the middle of a game while taking a shot Bird yelled at Robert Parish for not being in the right place, who does that in the middle of a shot?
Bird is just different than anyone else.

RIP DJ. DJ was a guard and Larry was a forward with the mind of a point guard - we used to call him a point forward. I was lucky enough to be at a Celtics games against the Hawks when Larry and Dominique got in a shoot off. It was amazing. It was like they were the only two players on the court - Larry would run down and score and then Dominique would run to the other end and score. Larry ended up winning the war but it was sad to see Nique lose because they were both brilliant.

Larry Legend, probably the only player ever to tell his opponent(s) beforehand what he was going to do, then do it and they couldn't stop it. For example, the time he said he would use his left hand for at least 3 quarters before a game against the Blazers then did it scoring a 47 point triple double. NO ONE EVER DOES THIS in today's game!
