@@Stigz34 the mustang is still a base 10 years old car with over 60k miles vs a high performance version of a latest car that is brand new. plus power in not everything in modern cars nowadays is all about engineering thats why hellcats and many other cars with over 800 hp cant stand a chance against some 300 to 500 hp vehicles like porches, bmw, lombos etc
Remember these cars are shooting for different drivers/markets. There is some cross shopping, but this is really a mash up. Put them on a tight track or autocross and you will see the Z pretty much walk away from the Mustang. Different gearing, both transmission and rear differential.
or just bring 18 and up with 10 speed they tend to whoop the z. but yeah just boost and fuel for 12k and tires e85 tune you are still less than the Z but now 600whp on stock sealed engine and i have seen ppl ring 1000whp out of stock sealed gen 1 coyote. now gen 2 and 2 stock sealed coyotes have made up to 1200whp and ran 7s in 18 up mustang gt and 8s in awd v8 f150 and those are 1/4 .ile times on stock sealed motor and factory computer

I'm usually the last person to suggest modifying vehicles, but since I'm not in a position to dump $150k on a Porsche, I found myself wondering how one could get a 911 4S-like experience without the price. I think you could get most of the way there with a 2024 Golf R + tune. Would be about $100k less than the Porsche. Maybe a BMW M240i x-Drive + tune would be even closer. The prospect of owning either without a warranty is truly horrifying though.
Any daily driver EV will beat the heck out of these. I still like my old 350z but my heavy weight stock MYP does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. You need to spend a lot more with an ICE car for that category.
is it my idea or the Z never was in sport+ mode? passive gear changes and low rev/limiter and since slow spool / turbo speed? idk if there is almost 1.5 sec of difference from a Z nismo to a Z performance due to altitude and other factors

The last gen Zs were compared to Porsche caymans, not 911s 😅. The GTR would be a 911 fighter (killer, really unless you get the higher trimmed 911s I believe)

That ten year old Mustang, with the slower 6sp auto, would beat the Nissan at sea level. I was surprised how close it was considering that the turbocharged Nissan is less effected by being one mile above sea level, compared to the N/A Mustang.
Kinda lame stealing Carwows video format. We never used to see this race from a dig, roll race, and brake test from TFL until recently and carwow has been doing it and doing it better for years. Love the TFL original stuff like the Ike gauntlet and other real world tests.

Ad some bolt ons to that mustang and a tune. Manifold, long tubes, injectors, bigger throttle body, intake, better tires, feed it some E85. It will put that nismo to shame. Give that 911 a run for it’s money a hard time.
You spend more than double your money to get from an s197 to a new Z and to 1 second faster in the 1/4. Then you have to nearly triple the money you spent on the Z to go another 1 second faster. Mustang is by far the most bang for your buck, in every way.

@@mogulme6190 that is the conventional wisdom, but I have not experienced that problem with mine. I also installed a Barton short-throw shifter, which really helps shift speed. Trans lets me shift as I can physically move the lever.
In the stock form the vr30 is very restrained because it competes with the vr38. On stock turbo 450 wheel horspower on 93 is possible, really easy to do and will eat most things.
Why did you guys stop announcing next scene... like you go from rolling drag race without even a word or 3,2,1 into the next drag race. Its very strange and slightly confusing. You dont need big separation but some little structure is nice.
