Love my 2009 Taco V6 4.0L 6 speed, supercharged.K&N filter. Chery mini muffler.Awesome sound when you drive it like you stole it! Got it in 2012..31000miles... oil changed myself every 3000 miles. Now 180000 miles...Awesome Taco.
That sounds like an AWESOME ride! I miss my TRD S/C FJ, I sold it at 93k miles. 🤦♂️ Please don’t ever sell that sweet truck, you’ll probably miss it like I did haha.
Awesome video! I’ve followed your channel for about a year now. I always enjoy seeing your Subaru videos! I am a 5-time Toyota Camry owner. I went to the dealership website and saw the history on that pickup. I would definitely own a Tacoma even though I really don’t need one 😂. But I have been researching them recently. I appreciate you sharing your videos with us! Do have a great weekend! I’m glad to be subscribed to your channel! With great respect! Mark in Iowa.
Thanks Mark! I’m glad you liked it and it means a lot that you regularly watch my videos! I definitely had a lot of fun taking this one out, it’s been way too long since I’ve driven a 2nd gen Tacoma. I definitely understand why you would want one haha.
I really enjoy your videos I'm a subscriber 😊 like new I think its lasted so long cause it's stock I'm ready to lift my 3rd gen and put 33's worried about the long term reliability Take care 👍
225,000 on my 2010. It's been mechanically perfect. The only problem is despite it being garaged, and despite it being properly washed and waxed frequently, the clear coat on the hood is starting to fail.
That sounds like an awesome truck! This one seriously felt so solid, just like I remember my 2013. I almost wish I had bought it haha, but it sold a few days after I filmed this.
Lol, yeah right?! Both of my Tacomas (2013 reg cab, and 2017 access cab) I ordered with the 2.7/5 speed combo! I loved that simple bulletproof combo and I miss both of those trucks.
I have a 2006 Tacoma 2.7L 5speed manual, RWD, standard cab. Has 213,000 miles on the odometer. No electric windows.... But works great, doesn't burn oil between changes. Replaced the clutch just before 200,000 miles (the previous owner was towing a lot).
@@bkucinschi nice! Mines also manual everything haha, crank windows and manual doors. I'm at 178k and the clutch is fine so far, but definitely understand if yours was towing
@ExtremelyAverageMan : yeah, mine is "100% manual" too...nothing to break down😀. I live in SE Michigan, with salty roads, so I sprayed the frame and underbody with Cosmoline. No rust whatsoever.
I have an 06 4 cylinder regular cab SR5 with 182k miles. Is it just me or do I have to floor the damn thing to get it up to speed? Idk but I still love the truck
Nice video! I am borrowing a friend's 2009 Takoma while we move and like how it drives enough that I might ask to buy it off him. It's a little more beat up, but drives great. Anything in particular to look for before offering?
Thanks, this was definitely a fun one! Whether you buy his (if he would even be willing to let it go, lol) or another second gen I would recommend checking out the social media forums to ask that question there! I’m assuming the later year examples have fewer issues, but I’m not personally familiar with any stereotype issues that these 4.0/5 speeds had. Especially where that’s basically the current gen 4Runner powertrain still, and they’re thought to be bulletproof. Best of luck! 🙂
Lol, that would be so fun! The 10 second video I posted yesterday performed the worst of any video I’ve published in a long time though. So I guess we’ll see if or when that happens. 😂

I heard that’s a problem with the white color Tacoma the clear coat.
"Of course it has the 4.0...." *Me with my 2.7, Regular cab, 5-speed manual....*

I got a 09 Taco v6 4x4 LBDC 203,000 miles red garage kept original owner. New frame wow worth that much!
Fun fact: You can get the 0-60 down a little if you use the gear selector
It tows 6500 lbs not 5000 lbs.
Very nice truck. Toyota, best truck in the world. 👍😁
Yeah, it was a blast to drive!

Heck yeah! Let's do some mud-boggin.' (Just make sure to keep those windows rolled up.) 😉😆❤

If it takes 30 years, I'll remind you of your promise!
Hey looking at one now but what’s the tick in the engine
That’s a question for a mechanic who should check it out before buying it. Thanks for watching! 🙂
My 09 with the same mileage also makes that ticking sound at idle. No one seems to know why, but the sound goes away once you put it in gear
Normal
202013😂
Haha 🤷♂️😂
