Hey thanks, the first time I realised clearly I was practicing and contemplating a tree, and saw my mind going ‘what type of tree, how old, how tall, etc’ and then I saw it and was like ‘ohhhh’ it’s not any of those things, it can’t be - when I go home, it’s still there as is everything. It is, how lovely to learn that that, or unlearn the illusion. 🙏

will you add to this/create another message, telling us if this isn’t in fact a tree, and those of us who think it is need to wake up, then what is this we are looking at and what do we need to awaken to?? cuz, I be seeing an incredible, fantabulous living, breathing, thinking life form that completely stirs my Soul… i especially love trees.. am absolutely drawn to them!! love how their root systems mimic their above limbs.. their variety of leaf patterns, their seeds, fruits, cones and flowers… some staying ever-green and some dropping all foliage to just bare branches with the seasons.. to climb a tree and see the lay of the lands is a sacred perspective, imo.. so, my spirit kinda winces when you say “this is not a tree” 🌲😞😞

If the concept of the tree drops your concept of a branch on your concept of your head, you will still experience the concept of pain.
We have these consistent categories for a reason. Yes, I understand what you're saying, but it doesn't mean it's an either or. It is a tree, but it's not fully separable from everything else. The one and the many are not in conflict.

It's pure life and light. It's the Earth and the soil. It's the water it takes in and the CO2 we breather and then we are the air we breathe from it so then we too are part of the "tree" and what creates the transference of energy from one "thing" to another.

The object seen is a tree by its appearance - a label or name based on knowledge, which gives rise to a thought of an object tree.
But "that which sees" the tree is not a tree, it is "This" - which is NOT a tree or any object!
"This" is unknowable, undescribable or unfindable. It's neither here nor there. It's everywhere, pervading the entire Dharma realm. 😊🙏🙇♂️🌷

I didn't think it was a trick question, because it wasn't a question. I'd call it semantics but not in a dismissive or critical way. Any concept whether nou, abstract noun or even verbs and adjectives are a product of the current human experience and based on differentiation and seperation. Physics however, teaches us that all things are connected to the point there can be no differentiation, a tree can only be made out of the minerals in the earth it stands in, the water it drinks and the air it breathes, all of which are mutable, mainly made out of nothing, essentially impossible to define and interrconnected, from trees and all other plants, the earth itself and the rest of the universe, without words and so called intellect these things are one.

either way does not matter. for "thought" the association is either "it is a tree" or "it is not a tree". either way "tree" is part of the association. the very identification either way is what maintains the illusion. it's never about "correct" knowledge. if it's "knowledge" it's illusion. all the way around.

the ego knows things. believes things matter. the ego believes it exists in order to “not exist” there by always existing.
there’s just not a position that isn’t distorted. all positions are as interpreted. “relatively known to be real” or however it goes.

At the same time, there is no such thing as my hand, the cellular phone, my room. I do not want to wake up to reality - I just want the pain to end. Everyone around me is dying, I am dying. No wisdom in the world can ease the pain. And even the pain is unreal. The way out, please? I think I served enough time in this jail.
