The longer you keep it buried, the more painful it will be, when you look at it.

    • @Lumalnatti11

There is no real need to look at anything in a dream as real. It's similar to a religious dogma to think so. .. "The longer you keep it buried" is really the more liberated you shall feel when you release the bondage of thinking anything can be buried by anyone in reality. For example, I can look at someone and see (from the universal consciousness inside) the bondage they carry. They do not need to say a word usually.

the real saying is "is is what is is" there is little can be called just in a world where disease is pandemic. Your wife cannot die in Reality, she is her full Consciousness elsewhere in different form now, but it resembles that of the homo-sapien human form in a more indestructible Awakened state of Consciousness or Divine Awareness. I've come to see that to believe there is an "it" or object outside Self is the cause of disease, but the disease still persists until I am one with Self and there is no question by any other that I am one with Self.... Self is God. God is everywhere.

After being exposed to non-duality following a traumatic experience, this is what it felt like. Just another kick to the stomach forcing me to let go of more of my will, and anguishing that I felt compelled to pour my life down the drain, in my early 20s… It would have been a lot easier if my teachers weren’t so subtly dogmatic when it came to this subject. Oh God it still hurts, but at least some part of me feels at peace now that I’m allowed to suffer with the me and the desires I’m sitting with.

I like what you have to say... because I'm going through the same experience. (not willingly, it is just happening of its own accord) And there is not really any logic, not really any words to frame it in... not even in one's silent conversations with self. There is ultimately just a kind of "I don't give a f*ck anymore, about any of it". Not about the story, not about its understaning, not about it's ending... none of it. As if it is too dross, too boring and too dull, to bother the light of awareness with its silly demands, silly stories, and ridiculous meanings.

We can claim experience is real but the “I” that claims the experience is unreal. It is the notional “I” that claims joy and sorrow are happening to “me” that is false. The principle of impermanence points this out, as does the principle of wholeness or inter-being-the other great principle of life.

@@randybackgammon890 The quality and intensity of the experience change significantly. It is one thing to experience suffering when heavily identified with the body and quite another when you see it for what it is.
Consider a scenario where a friend walks up to you on the street and tells you about how they witnessed a car being stolen. You patiently listen to the story but remain unmoved by it. Not a big deal, right? Then your friend tells you the car being stolen was yours. Would your reaction to the story be the same? Probably not.
The real you is obviously the you that has never left. If it has, it can't be you, right? Its presence has been there your entire life. Your body has changed as has your mind. That which has witnessed countless changes is what you are. The person you think you are may be troubled by experience but that which knows the person and its problems is like the empty sky that is unmoved, and unaffected by the clouds that pass through it.

There's only here, the rest is imagination. Everything is impermanent, it is greed, hate/anger and delusion/confusion that is the root of the suffering. If I dont go into meditation further, I will probably never experience the states that you are describing, therefore I will be more in line with the society, and that seems to be a positive thing. I know what you mean, but I think seeing the emptiness is just the first step, after that begins the integration process through which we gradually become more and more alive in this world again but it seems to be a long process. For me it was never a choice, because the alternative meant too much suffering so I felt the path was the only way. I think it also comes down to how much we want truth. Do we want truth at any cost? If the answer is yes then it’s not so much a matter of choosing this path or that path, when we are committed to truth it will not even feel like a path it will just feel like being with exactly what is at any given moment.

Meaning is what moves the body and mind. This can exist with or without story, whether individual or interconnected. Hence, the question is less whether meaning is happening, and more whether story is grasping. For me, there was no real choice, at least not in the long run. Becoming everything and nothing was the seeming only way out of egoic suffering. There still arises suffering, but it's been much more fleeting, and with less belief in "knowing".

What you identify with determines how you think and respond to people, it determines your attitude, and behavior toward the world. The misery and suffering inflicted upon other living beings, the pollution and destruction of our planet is a direct consequence of confusing the unchanging reality of what we are for an appearance that comes and goes.
