I heard of an older single lady who asked her brother for a pair of his old size 12 work boots to put in the window or right outside on the mat to give the impression that a big man was inside.
Very intuitive
Most older woman I know get cameras for all around their house and they sleep like babies

Go for it! I'm 68 years old and 34 months of full time motorcycle life 🥓🏍🏕 I don't regret one minute of it. Not even those cold days in my tent. I love the open road and the people it brings to me. Don't force it, go with the flow.

Thanks for showing us around! I cracked a smile when I saw the Lululemon bag. It was the largest shopping bag I have, and it's the bag I designated to stealthily (hopefully) bring the pee jug from my composting toilet into gas stations or rest areas, etc to the ladies room. 😁 It's only been 2 months for me, and it feels like 13. I'm very lonesome and homesick, and I've got about 6 more weeks before I head home. I'm glad to know it gets better!
Ha! It totally gets better! Hang in there. It gets easier the longer it is and then you won’t be able to get back on the road once you’re home 😁

Hippies n the homeless been doing it for years nothing new n without cell phones n tvs n restrooms to shower 🚿 in old vw vans n 1964 Ford all metal econoline vans no a/c
Tracy -- Thank you for showing us around your van. Remember to include a smoke detector and infra-red motion detector for prowlers at night. Make sure your van is always pointing towards the exit in case of emergencies. Have a first aid bag containing aspirins, TCP, bandages, band aids (plasters in the UK), sore throat sweets, antibiotics (if you can get them), oil of cloves for toothache (use chlorhexidine mouthwash to mitigate dental caries). It is useful to have solar cell panels which can trickle charge your van battery if it becomes flat and it is sunny. The supply of potable water is critical. Van life is a challenge, but it is an adventure. It is nice to have a friend / partner with you who can help you. Lastly, you don't look 57. I see a younger, pretty woman.

If he gets to start as a freshman or gets any playing time I want to be there. But I am nervous and your words resonated with me and made me feel better. Thank you. You can also dump for free, as it can be at a state rest stop. There is also places in communities that you give a donation to. Google free dump sites and it will guide you to the closest one. I lived & traveled in a 35' RV for 3 years. Now, I'm living in an apartment , due to an event that disrupted my life. I might be back on the road!

This came up in my TH-cam feed. I enjoyed your video. I really liked your candor about the good and not bad, but sometime difficult parts about being on the road. It's definitely more work than living in a home with a shower, toilet, running water, electricity, & a washer & dryer....... I find that being on the rode seeing other parts of the US & Canada is exciting and really recharges my batteries. I've met so many people along the way in my travels. I'm a part-time vanlifer, typically about 3 months a year in the Fall. I love the Fall colors. I live in the US Virgin Islands, so there's not a whole lot of road-tripping going on here!! The island I live on is 14 miles long. I can see myself doing a 50-50 split between the USVI and vanlife touring during the summer & fall. I too am 57yrs old. :@)
At Sayre Oklahoma there is a decent RV lots for $7 a night with hook ups and it's in a park with lots of extra eminities.
I am new and saw your age and can relate as thinking of Van life sooner to retire in 2025 and single and 63 year old woman and been researching a lot on TH-cam and you popped up on my feed and decided to check out you travels ☺️
Thanks, Maureen! Yes, the timing for me was perfect. I couldn't have done it any sooner but I'm so happy I didn't wait until retirement to do it. I wanted to do it while I was healthy!
I sm your age (lady) and looking to go out byy New Years from Ohio. I want to go first to Quartzite and them up through Cali to Oregon. I will have a van of if I don’t I’ll have my car and a nice tent packed on the roof. I’d like to follow the good weather. I don’t think I want to live in Ohio any more as the weather is brutal & I have no ties here.

Thanks for the tour, you're courageous doing it yourself out there. I'm curious about the cruise ship job. I got that idea myself a couple of years ago. I retire in a couple of years and thinking about it. Can't wait to follow that adventure. Be safe out there!

Just discovered you. I follow a lot of van lifers on TH-cam but you are my age and living my dream. I am going to be a subscriber. I am disabled and have medical reasons why I wouldn’t be able to do this. So I will live vicariously through you lol. And again you are my age and you look fantastic. I am now going to go back and wash your old videos and catch up.

It’s not “working out.” It’s Training. Plus good regular nutrition and walking, lunges, reverse lunges and a pair of DB’s or resistance bands is all ones needs plus eight hours of restful sleep.

I’m 64 was taking care of my Mom with Parkinson’s Dementia. She now lives in residential care. Once finances are figured out, 🤷♀️…I’m on the highway with van life. Adventure awaits.

Hi, you came across my feed. I've started looking at van life for about 5 or 6 months now, and I didn't know that this was a thing. I'm an introvert, and when I was watching so many people, and especially women doing this, I said this is what I want to do. I was wondering, since I'm 48 yrs old, can I do this. But I've seen women over 50 doing this. I'm so inspired now since I've seen women my age doing this. Thanks for the info that you've provided for this van life. I've taken so much info in and will plan accordingly on what I want and do. Thank you so much.
So happy for you Felicia! Yes, you can do it at any age! It took me six years after hearing about it and then following people for me to actually do it and I wouldn't change a thing!

Ive been trying to get serious with making videos on here for 6 weeks now. I was at 75 subscribers on August 1 im at 300 now (4 weeks later) I am an amputee who is building a van to live in full time. Im a motivational speaker, who travels the country telling my story in hopes of showing others we can overcome obstacles. Is this a good growth rate? Im a disabled veteran so I receive a small income from the VA. So I don’t require a huge income to make this happen. Im just hoping for enough for gas/food. Any suggestions for a newbie at this? 0:12

Hello, I just start following you because we just purchased a 2001 road trek and a coincident that I am also 57 years old female. I really wanted to diy a camper van but it would be too much work…..I found your channel and really love the way you remodel inside. How did you paint all the cabinet white? Do you need to use primer first? And what kind of paint did you use?
Hi! Sorry for the delayed response. I used Behr Ultra Scuff Defense I. ultra Pure White. I got it at Home Depot. Hope that helps! ❤️
One thing about staying in Fl for too long. That's the development of mold from all that humidity. You get it in places you can't see...like behind your walls or in and under your mattress. Hope you have a plan for overcoming this. Have several friends who experienced this so they don't spend to much time there anymore.

In lieu of a new generator, look into purchasing 4-5 lithium batteries which can power everything you have. Micro, ac, plugs, chargers, cook tops (induction). Ac must be 12 volt though. Just a suggestion. No hook ups here, no propane, just batteries.😄

My old bird is 74, been on the road for the last 45 yrs or so. You cant beat this life. I was a travllling showman when we hoked up. Cant deal with boundarys. Live free.
Wow! Great story! Yes, for sure! I don't think I could go back to a sticks and bricks. I do plan on building a tiny home so I have a base to call home and to park but I can't imagine being tied to a house and all that goes with it anymore. Thanks for sharing!

Lord willing you are living my future life. 58 and just got divorced, downsized, cull many things from my life, moved to a one bedroom apartment, and so my next step (to include job) is hoping going to allow me to move to van life in the next two years. I'm settling a "retirement" career up to be virtual.

On the generator, mine was not working, it was summer. I was in dire need. Took it to an RV repair place, he practically rebuilt it. Still did not work. Then I took it to PPL motorhomes in Houston. Simple fix, it was just a bad ground! Go figure.
Good to know! I've had mine cleaned and looked at three times! But, it is over 20 years old. When I get home I'm going to see if I can have it looked at again. Thanks!

Make sure the R.V.. battery is charged (,not the chassis ) the disconnect switch is ON, the generator oil is not low , AND make sure u hold the on & off generator SWITCH for a few seconds on OFF 2 or 3 times TO PRIME IT ! BEFORE u try to turn it on . Those 4 things USUALLY make it work ! Good luck !

And back to Minnesota for spring and summer, caught my attention right away!!! Lived in Minnesota my whole life, only small vacations out of state. I am 57, just lost my husband of 19 years unexpectedly and we talked of seeing America when our baby graduates at the end of this school year. Now I will have only his spirit with me, but still we gonna do this somehow!!! I need to get into some online remote type work, so I can support this type of lifestyle. 💜💜💜

I WORKED AS A WELDER AND WORKED OUT OF A CAMPER FROM SEATTLED TO CAPE COD, AND ALASKA TO CALIFORNIA IT WAS❤ FUN AND EXCITING TO SEE WHERE SOME OF OUR HISTORY WAS. i WOULD DO IT STILL BUT I GOT OLDER. STILL GOING SOUTH FOR THE WINTER THOUGH. GOD BLESS THE VAN LIVE AND THE PRACTICALITY OF IT.

I definitely gained 10 lbs of weight in 2 weeks because of eating ice cream 🍦😋 drumsticks everyday while driving truck. Truck driving takes great physical exertion and should not be attempted by lazy people; holding a steering wheel isn't for the faint of heart. 😂
I can buy a house but I don’t want to pay utilities, insurance and taxes anymore, yes you can be mortgage free but never really free, always feeling like that mouse on a wheel. Same four walls and neighbors that keep to themselves.

I see more and more adopting the lifestyle of living in vans or cars. How did we get to this point in society? Everyone should have a home and live normal. Well, to answer that question, one word globalism/communism. Left-wing politics. I have to give lots of credit for being so resourceful, and positive, and adaptable to this way of life. You seem to have much knowledge, and courage to stand and try this, and seem to be successful so far. I hope you have the best possible luck, and you deserve a good solid prosperous life. I believe many more of us will soon be in the same boat whether we like it or not. Survival, that is what it will boil down to. You have what it takes, good video!😊
