I think the cayenne coupe is by far the best coupe suv, it just has the best proportions. Whenever I see them parked, I always appreciate the looks haha

What I love the most about it is that it doesn’t look like a normal SUV. All SUVs generally have the same shape and these really stand out. My wife and I love ours.

Some people buy SUVs not because they need more space but just because the sitting position. Some people just like to sit higher and being able to get in/out the car more comfortably.
Looks like you guys got the “mature individual” spec to review. I enjoy the 🇨🇦 content and pronunciation, with kudos for filming on an ugly later winter day. As for a suv coupe, they’re not my thing but if someone wants to pay that much for a less functional vehicle, I’d say “You do you.”
Kinda like how people pay millions for a Ferrari instead of a Kia, which is technically more functional. Cus the Ferrari is better for their needs. Coupe SUVs don't look like generic chunks of metal and actually look good. Obviously it's subjective but a little less space while still being an SUV with 4 seats still makes it very practical as a vehicle *and* the added style makes it well worth it for those who are a fan.

Still not sold on “coupe” suvs especially not any MB ones. It’s the size and price of a real suv with much less of the space, essentially a lifted hatch back or lifted coupe sedan. Maybe it’s just me but I can’t help but think it’s just a vehicle for someone who doesn’t need an suv but wants to appear like they need or can afford a big car
For me it's because German sedans have become really generic over the years (I guess it depends on where you live tho) and while I'd take a sports car ideally, an SUV is more practical. But then again it looks kinda meh. But the coupe-SUV look makes it look sporty and elegant but it retains *most* of the practicality. I know some think they look ugly but they look great to me. 😄
Yeah someone like me. It definitely has a level of road presence that most other cars don't have. Inc the SUV versions. Its a beast!

The trunk is only 20liters less than the X5
So practicality wise the X6 is 98% of the X5 while being more rare and beautiful.
The beautiful part is personal preference.

It funny to me that all the car enthusiast all seem to be perplexed as to why a person would buy a coupe SUV. I’m looking at one and I have two friends that have them and our sentiments are… we are generally single people or couples who like the ride height, like that there is more space (including more than a sedan), but we simply do not need all of the truck space that the traditional SUV provides, and we’re interested in a sportier looking SUV.
So maybe we are a niche audience, but the coupes are selling so then again maybe we’re not so niche 😆

Great review guys! I would love to see a review about the Gle 53 coupe. We don’t get the 450 coupe in Europe, just the regular one, so if you don’t want a diesel the 53 is the only option besides the 63. Thanks!

Tbh this one of the ugliest versions of the Mercedes GLE line up, the 63 looks ways more appealing

I love coupe SUVs, But when it comes to GLE I’d go for the non-coupe one.
porsche is the only coupe one that i think is okay looking but even then its still ugly.
Gle 53 I’d take in coupe form, as it performed much bette on the track, when we did the launch event in Alabama February 2020. I bought a GLE350 non-coupe as that was the only version available
How can you hate something this beautiful
I’ve owned a GLE 350 for a few months now and I love this vehicle. I absolutely have no clue why anyone would pay more for the coupe version, it makes absolutely no sense. If you don’t think the GLE in fulll suv form looks good then get more options. I got AMG wheels and sport trim. Looks absolutely beautiful and has a thick athletic presence. Sitting next to an x5 it is no question the Mercedes’ is the better looking car. The suspension is super soft in my GLE, almost too soft for my liking to be honest. I just need to make my own review.
you can make the suspension less soft in sports mode right?
They would get the coupe version because it looks much better to them.

the suv coupes are good. u get more size storage and legroom than a car, ride higher, but look sexy and not boring like a boxy SUV.
I never these couple-designed SUVs but I really like them now. Saw an AMG 63 version of one not too long ago and thought it was pretty cool. I'm OK with it.

The normal version looks a bit funky but the AMG with the panamericana grill just looks miles better. I'm reallt debating this over an AMG GT 4 door for my next car.
It’s a body style for casual people who drive good it checks all the suv boxes while staying stylish and doesn’t suffer in the speed department as much
I came to the conclusion recently that I love the x6 and this car and it’s because I had a bad accident recently and I’ve been searching for a car that has a lil more heft to it at the same time I doordash so I cant have terrible mileage or be moving slow af bc I’m a 4 orders a hour type person I be hustling lmao although glc and other small suv are cool and fit the bill they just don’t seem cool enough for me as a person they don’t fit my style but these are unique and cool

In the U.S. we only get the AMG version, I didn’t realize that Canada gets a regular version of the GLE Coupe until going through Vancouver last Christmas
This car is so massive on the outside every time I pass one I’m like it reminds me of a space rover!
I don’t know why car reviewers always act so puzzled about coupe SUVs: they’re for DINKs in the city. High off the road, plenty of storage for luggage for them and occasional passengers for long weekend getaways, and they scream “we don’t have kids.”
I prefer the regular GLE look. Check out the regular 350 AWD, 2.0L turbo + tune (much more power), 21” staggered rims: 275/45R front; 315/45R rear; similar equipment inside as the 450 you tested; real ash trim inside + steering wheel; pano; Burmeister….

We don’t have this version in the United States. We only have the GLE53 coupe or GLE63 coupe. The GLE450 only comes in full sized suv here
Why this perplexes car enthusiasts:
It’s a giant car with stripped down practicality. When you cut off that much trunk, you’re sacrificing why you buy an SUV. It’s just kinda a big sedan or hatchback, with the gas milage of a escalade or worse.
Bad for the environment, bad for the overall driving experience, and bad for your wallet.
This is as close to Soccer Dad's car as I am getting, the GLE and X6 are the only 4 door vehicle I can imagine myself purchasing.
I find it odd that car people are so upset when people buy these cars.
No one needs a 600hp 2 door sport coupe on the road, yet we all want one. So why do we ask this random question for anyone who buys the suv version ?
It's a question that surrounds all types. Why do I need a sport bike, why do I need an SUV, why do I need a minivan, why do I need a Hispanic wife......so on and so forth.
I'd take the coupe over the full fledged truck because I'm not a truck person but the Aston DBX 707 or Cayenne Coupe would be my top picks. Great Review!

9 times out of 10, I'm team Jakub when it comes to design / spec. But with this one, I'm going to have to agree with Yuri. I prefer coupe SUV's over regular ones for sure. I feel like you get the practicality of an SUV, with the sporty look of a coupe. That's just me though 🤷♂️

These coupe SUVs are such an eyesore. Owners should be fined for the discomfort they create for others.
I don’t think the spec of that particular GLE Coupe helped it’s visual appeal.
Tyres looked chunky and silver trim around the windows looked very Meh.
It can look a lot better if u spec it correctly.

The GLE looks better in the true SUV form, the GLC Coupe i think is the only one of Mercedes that can squeak by in a Coupe version.
I have the Gle 53 AMG and my wife has a GLe 450. We love both of them. I wanted something sporty to drive but with a bad back getting in and out of a sports car was not really an option. It’s a great daily driver.
No doubt the GLE is a great car, I personally have a GLE 450 but why 2 GLEs though? So many options out there
@@brandonczw I have a BMW X7 and a Ram Pick up as well. We really have gotten great service at our Mercedes dealership. I have had 3 GLE AMG Coupes. My wife had the GLC coupe and loved it but wanted something bigger with our daughter growing up so she opted to get the GLE 450.

Crazy how here in the USA we've been told for years that americans don't want hatchbacks/wagons and yet these jacked up hatchback/wagons are forced on us and everywhere.

Its not ugly. Its just classy. And the design language still mercedes, compare to split head lamp in bmw nowadays.
I have the gle53 coupe, I have a sienna already so I don't care about space, the trunk space is more than enough for me, there are plenty of space for second row and can fit a car seat easily (the x6 doesn't offer as much second row space). the reason I get this car is I want some power and ground clearance and some style so I don't look like 45+. No complains so far, except some annoying clicking nosie coming from the seat belt adjustment area.

If this is the Mona Lisa then what are the original FX35 and X6 which has the same shape? There's also the Acura crossover that had the same shape years ago. I prefer the coupe look despite it being less practical but I'm not sure any of them look "good".

personally dislike this style of SUV. the overly rounded bubbly look is easily the worst in the category

In Florida I’ve only noticed 53’s and 63s regarding the coupè. You’ll only find 450’s in the non coupè suv variants
