Yep basically team chemistry is non existent, great individual talent, team looks good on paper...not really a team just a collection of players though. I don't think it will be that simple, some of these teams are actual teams.
The biggest names are past their primes, but you wouldn't know it from the hype. What that really means in practical terms is there's a higher injury risk for the over 35 club. Then you look at the rest of the roster and see Embiid, Kawhi, Booker, AD, and wonder why you're complimenting the higher risk club with the injury prone club. The fact one is already exiting proves they shouldn't have been there to begin with. Don't tell me you didn't ask yourself if all of those guys were even healthy. If a couple players start to sit out, others will push their limits further, and this thing could snowball. If they don't get gold, I'm positive that will be the number one reason. Ok, but, injuries aside, a shooting team, this is not. There's but one pure shooter. So that would be the one tactical disadvantage that may haunt them when facing tougher Euro opponents. Look, they probably win it, but I'm playing a devil's advocate here just to give the hype a little hand-check.
Kevin Durant is out due to a strained calf, and Kawhi has been replaced with Derrick White. Making this team 1 injury away from being undersized. Which was the main weakness of the summer FIBA team. We needed more size. I don’t know why we couldn’t have replaced Kawhi with a prototypical PF.
