Nice video! A friend of mine has a cabin in Land O Lakes. A group of us go up every Labor Day for a week of riding. My girl friend a I usually go up a week early and explore the Copper Harbor area.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the positive feedback! I've never been to copper harbor and it is on my list of places to go (maybe next year). I'm wondering if the trails will support a 4-5 day trip but I'm not sure. I suspect that it's stunning up there and look forward to going! Have fun on the trip and join the facebook group to share pics if you like!
Glad you liked it! We are looking forward to our trips this year (If spring will ever arrive!!) - thanks for watching and I'll check out your channel too!
@@DirtyJakTheDustyBean Appreciate it! I'll be ramping up more videos in a month or so. Working on another channel of mine too so it's hard to juggle them both and a full time job :)

Hi Jason, I've responded to the email and thanks for watching! Our annual trip is coming in a few weeks - I'll be getting ready for that soon! SUPER PUMPED!
Laying in bed sick. Came across this video. Loved every minute of it. Ive yet to ride the western U.P. we have a cabin north of Seney. After watching this i want to trade my Defender for a commander and hit those north western trails
Glad you enjoyed the video! The western UP is a fantastic place to hit the trails with the elevation changes, waterfalls and great places to stop for fuel & food - you'll have to make the trip one of these days. You're in a great area too, we love riding that area just as much. Lots of terrain changes and endless trails. We have some other videos out there to pass the time, in fact the first trip in 2017 was in the eastern UP (we dropped in Curtis) so feel better, thanks for watching and get to planning that next trip!
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video. For this video, I chose to just go with some musics that I liked :). This years video will be more of a voice-over and I'm planning on sharing the GAIA route. We'll also have some other rides (I posted a short one recently that had the route posted as well).
Hi Joseph, I doh't have those routes built but I've been thinking about doing it - just quite a bit of work. Keep an eye out for future videos with routes - I may just do that over the winter. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for watching! I've been toying with the idea of publishing routes - it's just a TON of work to go back and filter them out but I just released a small video with my downloadable route. It's my newest video - check it out!
Hi, I've been thinking of taking on that effort. I did receive your email and just responded - let me know your thoughts and thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for watching! I would have to go back and build those routes and it's really time consuming so it's probably not going to be available anytime soon. We ARE getting ready for our annual trip (leaving next week) so I'll do my best to record the route for sharing. This time we will be in the eastern UP wandering around. Super excited!
We take our annual ride in August or September. Lately, we have been choosing mid-August. I'm working on editing our trip to the Keeweenaw as we speak - really excited to share our trip! Thanks for watching!
Hi Kenny, yes - I still plan on sharing the routes and it will most likely be on my website (www.utvboondocker.com). Been super busy over the winter on a second channel but I've had enough interest to edit my routes and post them. Feel free to follow up - my email is: utvboondocker@gmail.com and thanks for watching!
In the State of Michigan, you need to get two trail permits (about $30 or so if I remember correctly). One is an ORV sticker and another is a trail permit but the important thing is that you need two. You can read more here: www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/orv-riding/rules As far as the width, a stock RZR Pro R with a width of 74" has made it on all of the trails that we go on (based on our last trip in September of 2023). There are VERY few spots that I've seen trail gates and those were in the western UP (I think I only saw one). If you run trails in the mid to eastern UP, you shouldn't have any issues with width unless you venture on a quad trail or something like that. Thanks for watching and I hope that helps you out!
We usually go in August-September for this annual trip. No issues with bugs at all but when I go up in May-June, the bugs can be a bit savage. This years date is still up in the air as we are figuring out schedules but I'm hoping we'll have a larger group so it should be a blast. We will probably be in the eastern UP this year - we are going to try and trace our trip from 2017 which I didn't have routes saved.
Yeah, these trails were a combo of roads, snowmobile trails and forestry roads along with some trails by locals. Send me an email and I'll try to get some of them around for you. utvboondocker@gmail.com
It's a 30 footer that my buddy built from an RV I think. We take these trips enough that he thought he'd build one. It's a little top heavy but pulls nice if the weight is distributed nice. You can pull it with a 2500 but I wouldn't do it with a 1500 - kinda bottoms out (the diesel in the video is a 1500). Thanks for watching!
Hi and thanks for watching! I wish I knew that answer for you but we haven't taken any routes that far north. That trip is something that I DO plan on taking but I don't have any plans just yet.
I don't have the routes extracted and published but at some point I may do that. Meanwhile, if you use GAIA, you can use the coordinates and screen shots in the video to follow along. Hope that helps a bit and Thanks for watching!
We usually drop in Ishpeming for a 5 day ride in the area. If you wanted to make this a four day trip, I would suggesting finding a campground in Baraga to drop you trailer and you can pay them to park (most folks a pretty cool about that). We have yet to explore the copper harbor area but plan to in the coming years. Heading up that way will take a little research and things to consider such as the ferry ride, etc. If you do go that route, please post a comment with your experience with the routes! Thanks for watching and have a great time!
@@UTVBoondocker If you're looking for some advice in the Copper Harbor area I would be happy to help. That was our first overlanding trip from Gillett, Wi to Copper Harbor and back in five days on ATV's. There is an abandoned NASA rocket launch pad at the tip on the peninsula.
@@Ragewrapsvideos I've heard of that place! If you have coordinates, that would be great. It may be a 2024 trip but ya never know what this year could bring! It's one of the places that I haven't been able to explore must *yet* :)

Thanks so much for watching and we just finished up our 2023 trip so keep an eye out for that!
