Why didnt they just make it a greasable bearing??
Looking to do this on a 2020 XP1000 General. How would you wire this up including the park wire to the factory bus bar?
Nice job showing the ride/area! We need to find a spot to camp and ride here. Been researching a bit just haven’t got there yet. Will download your ride! Thank you for the video
I recently took my 08 Ranger 700xp camping. I got a platform for my dog and can haul 1500 lbs. Working on building a wooden rack for the bed as well as a 2 in lift and 50 in light bar. Has a winch also.
Glad your using jack stands there, and that they're properly placed for safety! WTF? smh.....................................
Safety first! Thanks for watching Peter!
What service bulletin number? TST??
Drive Shaft Fix: CanAm Bulletin: TST 139861 Shaft Part Number: 705402245 Just heard last week from my local service manager that this has been replaced since and they are now working on yet another revision. I will be contacted when that is released as I still have a little rattle early on the throttle.
How's the bedliner paint job holding up on the body?
It’s holding up REALLY good. I just bought more to spray my truck bed. It’s tintable too so you can use different colors. amzn.to/3A3R1sa
I recently bought the OS18 and it was a PITA to assemble. It took me 5 weeks because of the weather here in Coastal South Carolina. Assembling in my garage, but the temperature got up to 108° F during the day and barely below 90° F at night. And the Heat Index was always over 100°. The Manual on assembly was not clear on some points, and the small B&W photos and line drawings were not not as good as they could be. Color photos would have helped. Nothing on tensioning the blade in the Manual, I had to find out by searching through youtube videos. Not to mention a wrong part and missing parts and I have bolts and nuts left over and no empty holes for them. It sits in my garage, carriage and tracks with extension until I can place out in the backyard. Still too hot and humid to works outdoors.
I felt the same….thats why I created the video so I hope it was helpful. I also had spare nuts and bolts left over which I believe is normal. Hope it cools off enough for you to finish. I’m in Michigan so that kinda weather would probably melt me lol. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Love the custom fab and always glad to see our products proving their worth. Hopefully our awning made this her first of many boondocking adventures to what could have otherwise been her last. 😎👍
Thank you! It was a life saver for sure. Appreciate the help!
I’m looking into buying a heel clicker kit for my xtp. Just curious what was the 0-60 before and after the kit?
Thanks for watching! On my machine I went from 22.49s to 19.91s with the stock setting from him on the weights. I have really noticed my belt temps are much better on the last trip we took as well even with more weight added with the awning on. Pretty darn happy with it for sure.
Nice set up. I like it.
Thanks brother!
Way cool!!! Need to look into this.
Thanks for watching!
Check us out on NarrowRoadAdventures.com
Pretty sweet Dan. Can't wait to go on our trip
Heck yea!
Awesome setup have a great day be safe.
Thank you!
Awesome video! Looks like it held up perfect and just in time. Your wife even loves it 😂
Nikko, came in very handy and saved to day for sure!
I have a Polaris general 4 and trying to add a plus bus bar I think I’m running 2 subs and a 4 channel amp to power 4 6.5s and 4 6x9s my single battery can’t keep up. Could you send me the link on the accessories you used in your video ? Thanks
Sure! All the links to the products are in the description above. Hope that helps out and thanks for watching!
Beautiful thank you
It’s amazing UP there! Thanks for watching!
What kind of speed controller did you use? Looks great
Thanks for watching! I used the controller in the links below the video description
Quick question for you, looking at the the route you have when leaving Paradise and heading north on M123, were you on the riding on the road or the shoulder of the road or was there a trail you road that was just off the road?
Heading north out of paradise, we drove on the side of the road. Legally, you can drive in the shoulder at 25mph (local roads only, no M roads). Thanks for watching!
I knew you couldn’t drive on M roads, I just looked at the map closer and didn’t realize M123 heads west in Paradise. I thought it continued north. Thanks for the reply.
Could you get your machine on a 10 foot trailer?
Probably not. It fits nice on a 14’ trailer but the 16’ gives it plenty of room . Thanks for watching!
Awesome video guys thanks for taking us along have a great day be safe.
Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
I have a 17 General with an aftermarket windshield. Can you tell me the distance from the body frame down to the center of the hole? Awesome video, very helpful.
Hi Chris! I just replied on the Facebook group. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Can’t find it. Which Facebook group did you post the answer?
@@ChrisBurton-ch9qe I believe it was on the polaris general 1000 one. Either way, the wiper hold is 21.5" inches from the seated edge of the pillar (the corner where the windshield would seat, inside there). Then from the top of my sealed windshield measuring down, it was at 2.25"
Thank you very much. Once again awesome video.
Just did all 4 on my rzr after one decided to leave the chat 😂😂. What’s crazy is I checked them before the ride and they were good. Goes to show mechanical things can break anytime
Agreed! I’m really happy that only the rear bearings needed to be replaced. They lasted over 4k miles. Thanks for watching!
You need to ask Santa for a real snapring pliers this year.....
Right!? Hindsight is 20/20 for sure! Thanks for watching!
How do you find the map on Gaia?
I don't have the routes extracted and published but at some point I may do that. Meanwhile, if you use GAIA, you can use the coordinates and screen shots in the video to follow along. Hope that helps a bit and Thanks for watching!
Awesome video! Whereabouts is that bridge you guys came across around 6 minutes in? I ride to grand marais a few times a year and would love to check that spot out!
It's in that area. So I just found it and we were on a trail heading staight north each just off McCloud Grade. Looking at the map, it was just before (east) of Harvey Creek. The bridge we crossed was porter creek which dumps off of Sucker River. That should pinpoint it for you. I would not suggest taking the bridge - it was super sketch! Thanks for watching and have fun exploring!!
Great job with the wire management. Looks very clean under the "hood". Nice to see someone else that values clear wiring and wire labeling.
Thanks Dandy! I try to keep it tidy - easy to lose track of what you've done after enough mods :). Thanks for watching!
Looks awesome! Wish he had a set for the Commander.
They look good big dog.
Thanks Troy - They are SUPER beefy!!!
@UTVBoondocker it's my next Purchase after I get the wife's mud flaps on the Commander.
Sure trac are top notch trailers...
Yes they are. When I bought my machine, the sales guy was cocky and said "go look at other trailers - you'll be back". As much as I wanted to prove him wrong, he was right and I came back to buy it. Really happy with them! Thanks for watching!
that is not the new bearing support.
Can you let us know what the newest bearing support is? Would help us all to discuss with our dealers
Hey guys! Great video. Looking for extra friends for a trip like this? Looks like a lot of fun
These trips are always fun, ups and down depending on the weather but still a great time! Thanks for watching!
Do you plan to publish any of these long multi day routes? Would love to download and ride some of them.
I've been toying with the idea for a while. Just need to set aside the time to do it. If you have GAIA as a navigation app, you can access them from a web browser but it's quite a bit of work to parse out sections, etc. I do have some plans to publish some routes this year so I'll work to record the routes as I go so that I can share them. Thanks for watching!
Does anyone know the updated carrier bearing part number?
I called my dealer today about 2023 maverick sport max and they told me this updated driveshaft is no longer available and there is another updated driveshaft being produced, not sure when it will be available.
That is interesting! I will have to hit my dealer up. Thanks for watching and letting us know!
Did you have to remove any plastics or your dash to feed the wires ?
Nope! There is a small hole on the far edge of the dash that you can feed wires under the dash. You can use a wire and go through the pillars and then down that hole to the underside of the dash. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Doing one right now on a kawasaki muel let you know shortly
Excellent! Hope it works like a champ. Thanks for watching!
great presentation keep up the great job.
Thanks for watching Dan! I plan to make several more this year on the smaller trail systems. There is a new one in Cadillac that is 100 miles one way and I'm looking forward to filming that. Stay tuned!
Any chance you know what the specs are for the gen 1-2 outlander rear drive shaft splines. I’d like to buy the correct gear cutter. And make my own drive shaft
Sorry I don’t but that would be killer to do!
@@ogcanamdan I couldn’t find any info. So I ground a profile out of hss. And made one on the lathe. Worked out perfect and nice fit. Better than factory
That is awesome! Well done man!
My 22 max has the same issue
Make sure you get your dealer to get the service bulletin prop shaft upgrade. Mine still has a slight rattle but only and very slow speeds.
How did you mount the rigid boxes to the bed ?
Thanks for watching! I used a marine plywood in the bottom and mounted the three thin boxes to that.
Where did you stay at? And could you ride from where you're staying
We have some friends that have a place up there just off the trail system but that trail system connects to St. Helen area and Roscommon - I'm sure you could find a VRBO in the area that is close to the trails. You could easily make 4 day ride on all of the trails in the area with a nearly full explore. It's a favorite place to ride for me except for holidays - it's crazy busy during that time but any given weekday or non-holiday weekend is pretty tame and super fun. The trails are whooped out pretty good so plan on speed over the bumps or lots of shaking :). I do plan on another video showing the St. Helen trail system which has some really nice areas to ride including a sand bowl, rock section and plenty of elevation changes. Hoping to film that this year. Hope that helps you out a bit and thanks for taking the time to watch! We have plenty of other videos if you're looking to kill some time!
Hey nice content. Im going to be staying in brimley soon. Have u been to any trails that area?
Thanks, appreciate you watching! So I have not taking the trails around that area too much but there are a ton in the area that I've scoped out. I did ride my motorcycle all through that area and I can tell you that you'll want to stop at the Spectacle lake lookout point just northwest of Brimley. There is an great lake overlook and an ancient cemetery - lots of American Indian history in that area. Also something to consider if your carry a sidearm, may want to look into those laws. Anyhow, I hope you have a great time and I'm sure we'll have a ride over in that area at some point. That is one of the very few areas in the UP that I have not ridden in *yet*.
That area is full of trails. It’s part of the Pabst blue ribbon original snowmobile trail. Hundreds of miles of trail
@@SuperSYMPATHIZER Ha, I didn't know that. It is a great area - that's why I bought property up there as a basecamp. I really love the west side but it's a LOOOONG haul to get over there to enjoy it. Thanks for watching!!
How long is the water hose so I can cut to size.? Just to confirm it’s 1-3/4”. Not 1-5/8”?
Thanks for watching! it is 1-3/4" and if I remember correctly 36" long is what I used.
Great looking, great build, but I would be cautious of females with long hair, hate for it to get tangled in the fan
Thanks for watching and appreciate the compliments! My wife has long hair and we have had zero issues so far. We tend to run them on about 50% and it is a nice gentle breeze on you all the time.
This is probably the best video on youtube for utv/snowmobile clutches. Thank you!
Thanks! Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Did you just run the wires to the controller? No fuse or relay?
No inline fuses or relay. Worked perfectly so far.
My 2024 max has the vibration between 4200 and 4800 RPM.
Ben, make sure you have the dealership warranty the bulletin for sure
@@danemery7228 supposedly it has the latest update
Excellent video! There's lots of great information in it. Thank you for putting that together. Todd from da U.P.
Thanks Todd! Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Should have covered alignment/spacing. All clutching starts there no matter the machine, clutches clutch tuning kit. Nicely done video.
Great point Scott! We did have a small bit in there but I edited it out because most of these *should* be aligned from the factory. Because that is an edge case, we just took that small part out so that it wouldnt' be considered a 'common' issue because it shouldn't be. Thanks so much for watching!
