I am a sophomore in highschool, and want to go into rsi to conduct research in the medical field, I sadly didn’t win any competitions like you did, what steps and competitions do you recomend I take a shot at?
@@nhatminhnguyen1613 Any chance you would be willing to share your application I currently don't have any competitions and would really love to go to this program.
Hi Rishab, I'm just curious, what math class are you enrolled this year as a senior. Also, what are some classes that you took in high school and enjoyed and learned a lot from?
Hi Rishab I'm a freshman in Pakistan looking forward to joining RSI , I'm desperate and curios but I don't have any stem distinctions and other international distinctions although I have slot of academic excellence certifications including winning a national project competition , my friend and I are currently working on a research but I don't think we can complete it till the application deadline, so can you please guide me through and are these stem etc distinctions a compulsion or I can go on with them? ( btw I'm going to apply for stem Olympiads this year)
this is super helpful! i do have a question though -- how did you launch all your projects and get them out there? and become more "well-known?" and would you say cybersecurity is valid for RSI? like is it a good idea since it's not necessarily what people would think is science-science-science.
1) I got my projects "out there" by competing in science competitions! 3M Young Scientist Challenge -> Broadcom MASTERS -> JSHS -> ISEF 2) Personally, I think cybersecurity is valid! There's definitely research being done in cybersecurity. Now, is that something you will be able to do at RSI if selected for the program? No clue. But, I think you should apply with your best field. The "research mentor matching process thing" is performed later.
Hi Rishab, fantastic video! I have a question, though. I am currently in the summer between 9th and 10th grade, and I have already taken my first university level course. I will continue to take courses in order to gain a CS-engineering Bachelor's degree right as high school ends. This takes up a major load of my time, together with work to pay for it, and so I have much less free space for other extracurriculars. Will this affect my application? Will mentioning my STEM studies in the universities assist it, or should I avoid applying altogether because of it?
Wow! That is impressive! Mentioning your STEM studies would definitely assist your application. It would let the college administers know why you were not able to get involved in many extracurriculars.
Rishab, I am applying to do Physics research, but due to its nature, I haven't gotten the opportunity to do research in Physics yet, so how do I do research in it, and how do I answer the research prompts that they ask of us?
I'm a freshman in HS and am really interested in ISEF/STS. I have an idea for research, but I'm from a small town and don't have any opportunities to do it. What should my course of action be?
@@RishabJain I have to obtain FLiNaK which is used in molten salt reactors as a coolant and fuel. I have dug around on the internet a bunch and can't seem to find a source anywhere. As far as my research goes, I want to simulate the heat within a MSR using a crucible and measure the amounts of corrosion that appear. Then, I would add in certain metals that reduce corrosion and measure the results. I do not have any access to either a crucible or the various metals that would be used.
After how much time from your application deadline did they send your acceptance letter? And, does my country have to be shortlisted in the RSI program, in order to be able to send my application?
I received the acceptance letter in March. However, this time may vary depending on the application review process this year and what country you are applying from.
hey Rishabh great video, I just had a question is it important for me to win any awards as in my country the awards and competitions are usually presented to nationals of this country.
If I remember correctly, my school counselor uploaded it. However, I would recommend double-checking the CEE RSI website and emailing the listed contacts on their website for additional info. Hope this is helpful.
does anyone have any tips for me to optimise my chances? i am in the 2nd semester of sohmore year and feel like im running out of time, i recently applied to some research programs in the aerospace engineering field and i am waiting to hear up but im nowhere near your level, i currently: -soccer for 3 yrs -swimming for 10 yrs -volunteering at church for a few months -violin for 1 year -speech and debate for 2 yrs i have currently almost straight As with two Bs, but i dont have any awards or research publications, can someone help me and give me any tips to break into it. im currently an international student so my options are limited.

AP Psychology, AP Biology, AP Environmental Science.

Publication in viXra is good ? Published around 5 days before deadline
I believe RSI allows you to submit one preprint or paper for review.
I have a one in Vixra should I go for. It?
Like i think viXra isn't considered much good as of arXive
