    What's your favorite delay?

    • @je7647
      @je7647 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Boss dd2 or the ibanez ad80

      Can´t brag with the newest stuff. Could brag with some vintage stuff instead, but:
      My two beloved "go-to-delays" are the Boss RE-20 Space Echo for stereo in/out, for the convenient input level control, even when bypassed (!) and also adding some nice little fake spring reverb to the delays, if wished.
      But for guitar I like even more the versatility, sound and user interface of my ❤TC NOVA REPEATER❤, which I even prefer over the bigger brother "Nova Delay" with its time display, as i am good with just tapping a tempo in.
      But I like the choice of delay styles, filter and modulation of the REPEATER much better - and it´s so easy & fast to tweak.

      @@marcofioravanti4176 I had a nova delay for a while and really liked it!

      @@LeonTodd So..now you´re ready for the REPEATER! 🤣 (...sadly discontinued)
      Hey...and big thanks to you for even reacting! ☺
      It was anyway just the answer to what "i" go for. There might be better, more modern pedal options out there, but these TCs - also nicely housed - or spaced - to hit a switch with the feet, not too small, not too big, is also still ok, I find.

      For rack stuff, my pair of SDE3000s sound really great. For pedals, I like the Boss DD2 for digital and the Maxon AD Anything for analog.

    I liked the grit it added even more than the delays.

      That limiter circuit would make a great pedal!

    Seems like a good unit. If this were the year 2002, I'd love it. I'm all set it and forget it. I wouldn't use it for a fraction of it's capabilities. I came to realize that I'm a very basic guitarist for effects. I spend lots of time trying to get my perfect, 3 unique tones, and than just use them for everything, same as I've always done with running a tube amp. I've tweaked the living s.. t out of my written presets on the FM3. And love the tones. But that's all I really need.

      The delay block in the Fractal provides SO many options too. The compander is a fun one to add some character.

    The 2290 was an ADM type delay too…Lots of people rave about tape echo’s..and they are cool,but Vintage Digital Delays have always been my thing…Maybe because I grew up with these things….I had an SDE 3000 back in 80’s….also had a Rockman Stereo Echo which was a really cool analog delay…

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm convinced it's more about the analog filters, companders and feedback network that makes these old delays so cool

    I got mine dirt cheap years ago, and I love it! My only gripe was that it had no power switch on it.
