Wow!!! With the cost of everything going up, I need to cut costs whenever I can. Your tutorial was so well done...you made the oil and filter change look so easy. I can hardly wait for my "Maintenance Required" light to go off so that I can do the maintenance myself. I won't even mind getting my hands oily because of the money I'll be saving. Thanks
Fantastic job on explaining and demonstrating the process sir. Thank you so much for demonstrating the steps for resetting the maintenance light. That was the super bonus for me.
My only suggestion is to use a 19mm socket on the larger hex of the removal tool. In your case, the plastic housing was easy to remove, but some are torqued too tight and you'll strip out the center of the tool.
Excellent step by step... New subscriber here... Just bought a lease returned 2018 HL XLE with 6800 miles... Toyota Certified of course... So I plan on changing the oil myself and this is perfect. Thanks a lot!
I’m the first owner of this car. I’m still using the same amount of oil up to now and my car is still running great with no issues. do it your way my friend 🙏🏽
13:30 you reached the end, the oil filter can not go any further. So much for the torque wrench, and so much for complaining next time that the dealer put the oil filter too tight 🤣
Was I the only one who noticed that his blue coffee container that he used to catch the old oil was overflowing? He obviously did not choose his drain pan properly.
"Don't over tighten, hundreds of $ in repair bills" - but don't use a torque wrench??? To all watching this video, this is not good advice. Use a torque wrench and the proper torque specifications for everything with a book value torque spec!
@@Cdr306- exactly. Stupid to say go spend more money on a Mobil filter because of better ‘quality’. I have >250k miles on mine and never used anything else. Same with people who waste their money on Aimsoil. Waste. Just change every 4-5k

Got a question sir regarding on how to reset the maintenance reminder. My Highlander isn’t a push button start. How can I reset it?

Just use the old oil to lube the ring. Pouring into the cap?? It’s not like it’s going to contaminate it or anything. Great video!
nothing wrong with using the old oil 🙏🏽
Best video on YT for this specific vehicle oil change. Thk U Very Much
Thanks for great and easy explanation on the oil change and resetting the maintenance reminder!
Great suggestion about the small screw driver if you don't have a pick.
I just wish that engine used an old school oil filter. I guess it's to help cut down on the amount of metal filters in landfills.
Great video, very easy to change and it's great without the need of a jack because the car is high enough, thanks!
Glad it helped🙏🏽
When you remove the oil filler cap it doesn’t create a vacuum it releases the vacuum
Gracias por toda esa paciencia que tienes para enseñar.

Do the oil drain plug gaskets not come with a new oil filter?
No you have to buy it separate from the oil filter🙏🏽
2017 highlander takes 6.4 quarts for the 3.5l v6.

Frick! Why can’t it just be traditional oil filter?!? Now I have to go find the tool! :( great vid though. Thanks
I do not like that filter at all
Awesome, really very good. Thank you!

Awesome video man thanks
Good info.
Bottled Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil does not come with sealed foil.

lexus and toyota filters are very low quality... Get a Supertech MP filter or mobile one, much better filters
OEM filters are totally fine if you change your oil and filter like you are supposed to - 4,000-5,000 miles
