Just a quick question as I am trying to learn how to play this game: At 14:54 what allows the dreamcatcher with the orange/brown door to be freed? I thought a freeing could only occur if you searched the deck and had to shuffle. I am not trying to call you out or anything, just trying to make sure I am interpreting the rules correctly.
I don't think she should have been able to to that. From my interpretation of the rules, you can only trigger a freeing if any affect forces you to reshuffle the deck (i.e. searching for a door card) or you decide at the beginning of the turn to remove one failsafe book card from the game. Since she grabbed the blue door straight from the dreamcatcher, she technically would not have to reshuffle the deck (since she didn't search for the door in the deck) The rules also say that you can trigger a freeing if an affect forces you to search for a card, (say you play 3 blues in succession, but you know both blue doors are in dreamcatchers) you can still search the deck anyway (even though you know there are no blue doors in the deck) take the blue door from a dreamcatcher and then trigger a freeing. (since searching for the nonexistent blue door will require you to reshuffle) Hopefully that makes sense as I am trying to figure these rules out myself. However that last part in my above paragraph was validated by Shadi Torbey on board game geek.
I just started with the Dreamcatcher expansion last night...how does he come up with these expansions? Every one of them manages to significantly change the strategy AND have a fun theme that expands the Omniverse. I'm really loving the Glyphs combined with Book of Steps...you can really get puzzled moving cards from the top of the deck to the bottom and back again. Sylvion, I'm sad to say, hasn't grabbed me yet.
Thank you for this video! I now know how to play this expansion better. I do have a question though. If I have all the dream catchers full and choose to shuffle back a pile of cards that include a nightmare to free up a dream catcher, do I have to resolve that nightmare or does it simply get reshuffled back into the deck with the other cards?

You should playthrough sylvion. A different game by this company but with a similar syl r of artwork. Also Runebound is coming out with a third edition later this year.
yours and Ricky Royals playthroughs are the best out there. You both can shuffle so well. I shuffle like I'm wearing boxing gloves.

When you took that blue door from your dreamcatcher, you wasn't suppose to shuffle the brown door back in because you didn't search your deck.
Watched all 5 and as usual I love your play thru's and this game seems like fun for the solo player that I am..tks always

Isn't a freeing compulsory once you shuffle the deck for a door? If so then wouldn't you have to shuffle the lost dream cards back into the deck?
