    1:36 is hysterical, they’re all mangled, Phil’s trombone comes apart, Harry throws up in his bloody euphonium, I love this film

    Oh the days in my youth when we followed the brass bands. As a little girl it was so very exciting, the whole council estate would come out to watch and us kids would follow behind for as long as we could. Anyone remember the rag and bone man too? He had a shire horse that pulled a flat cart. He'd blow a horn and shout. "Any olde rags, any olde rags". Again us kids would run out the house and follow him around the council estate. Great memories.

    Always thought of this film as being Ken Loach-esque without Ken Loach himself. It’s a great film about a tragedy brought upon many Northern mining towns!

    Danny be like, "Screw you all, you drunkards, I'm out." at the end. Ah, despite being a cold and tragic film, it has its moments of comedy. Every good movie and show has a balance between funny sand sad: Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, and countless others I can't name off the top of my head.

    You know this band is good when they have a hard time playing "bad" on purpose. Good players just can't play "bad" effectively.

    • @pascalwicht5272
      @pascalwicht5272 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rotunda57 I don't agree. My euphonium teacher was brilliant, but he was also able to play bad to show me how it sounded when I played (and after that he played the same measures well, to show me how it should sound).

    A few pints and they can't play?! Lightweights. Obviously they hadn't spent any time in a US military band.
