The St Cuthbert’s Way 100K Ultramarathon

My first solo ultra, my first time running through the night and my first 100K race. The St Cuthbert's Way is a beautiful trail from Melrose in the Scottish Borders to Holy Island on the stunning Northumberland coastline. A mixture of riverside paths, forest tracks, green trails and undulating hills, St Cuthbert's Way is a superb trail on the England/Scotland border. A perfect setting for an ultramarathon and steeped in so much history!
The heat took it out of me but I was able to crawl along the causeway to the finish line at Lindisfarne thanks to the support of my fantastic family and my amazing daughter who ran the last stretch with me!
What a brilliant experience! Anyone on the fence about ultra running should take the leap and sign up. It’s incredible what your body can do when you put it to the test!
