Loved the second dress. A brooch would have been great. I think a pillbox hat with a birdcage would look great. Pincurls? I think those might be what you would have done with your hair if not rollers.

That first dress is lovely, but it was made to be worn tied at the neck, especially if you want that polished vintage look. On the other hand, you don’t want to be uncomfortable, so if I were you, I would sigh and send it back. The second dress looks fantastic too. I never know what bra to wear with a boat neck. I’m guessing it would be a strapless situation, so that’s something to keep in mind. A great look though. I love the pants. I think they would look better with something a bit more structured and substantial than the ruffle top - and your husband’s fedora is a must!

You need a broach to accessorize the dresses and add colour. A corsage might be an option too
I wore a floor length crinoline with a hundred dollar antique gold, sequin top dress for my second marriage, and I felt like a princess.

Oh, I think that you need to have just a dressed up night out and wear those pearls- there is something about the weight of real pearls- especially sentimental ones - that is magical. I have a very long strand of fresh water pearls and then a single little pearl that I wore on my wedding day. One day I will get a full strand! I appreciate you watching!

You MUST keep both of the black dresses for sure! the last one was elegant, the first one was sassy, cute, and very flattering. I thought you looked adorable in the suspender pants too but wasn't wild about the ruffle blouse, at least not with the suspenders. I wouldn't feel bad in the least about returning what didn't work for me. You are doing a lot of shopping and you can't keep everything, nor would you want to. Some of the stuff you wouldn't use and that would be a terrible waste. IMO
How about a pin(brooch) on the boat neck dress? And if you don’t have one give me a ring! Maybe Value Village?? I got over sending back Items I ordered, just after covid. @@BigonStyle I had a vintage Claire McCardel dress my mother got second hand from her boss when she was pregnant(1960). Had massive pockets. Very few Claire dresses around because they were so ingeniously designed. Worn to rags.
I could be wrong. However, isn't the petticoat too long? I don't think that it should stick out the bottom of the dress. Both black dresses are great on you. Also the 50's curls are done with either bobby pins or chippies. Part the hair on either side and the curls are in several rows halfway down the side. I would add a body mouse because it will give your hair body and hold.
Jean, you are right, the girl in the picture had the petticoat showing, but I think it was to show that it was being worn with a petticoat (I’m not positive really!). When I pulled it up in the second dress, it looked so much better! Thank you on the hair tips, I need to try that!

LBD #1: so RETRO! Rockabilly! The petticoat makes it look sweet! The sheerness across the shoulders and your décolletage is date-night couture for sure.
Outfit #2: the top is SOOOO cute on you, but it does look tight. It’s very retro though and you don’t seem to be into retro like it’s a lifestyle choice! LOL The black pants in this outfit are ridiculous! The fabric is so stretchy that they will look baggy and unflattering even if they are in your correct size.
SUSPENDER PANTS OUTFIT! #3: Love those pants on you. I’d change the top. The top is lovely. Very romantic feel. It just doesn’t go well with those fab pants!
WOWSER LBD 2.0 Outfit #4: Girl. GIRL. You need to learn that more is more when rocking vintage! The hat is gorgeous, but how stunning if the brim was wider? Try on a wider brimmed hat and notice how fabulous you feel!
The dress is a classic that can be played up for retro or made to look current. Audrey Hepburn style never goes out of style. Wear that dress with a large vintage looking pearl and/or pearl & rhinestone brooch to be retro. Double or triple strand of pearls that hang just long enough to be on the fabric of the dress. Anything else would take away from that perfect boatneck. We plus size ladies need to remember to play up our shoulders and décolletage! And you wear enough black that you should invest in a black petticoat. Your white one is ok if the event is meant to be more a fun theme night, but I’d rock a black, red, or pink petticoat (leaning more toward the black!) on a date night or an event that’s retro but more serious. BTW? Your red lipstick is perfect for retro/rockabilly! Great shade on you!
I’ve ordered my right size and still have issues with them even went one size up and still didn’t fit.I just stopped ordering from them.
So, I used to feel guilty about returning stuff, but you litterally cannot try something on from an online store without somehow getting it to your house. You're not stealing it and you aren't wearing it out once and returning it, so I don't think you need to feel guilty.
It would be different if you had a million subscribers and were making lots of money out of clothes you then returned... maybe in a few weeks 😉

I just stumbled upon your channel, and I have subbed you because I think your fun. That last dress you had on was stunning on you. Yes, you must buy a full-length mirror, because the white slip is very off in my opinion, of course. I think you should buy a black slip to go with your black dresses, just in case it slips down a little bit it won't be so obvious. I'm curious about the hat though, to be honest I thought it looked like a witch's hat, & it may be because of how you had it on. Do you think you could show us your hat? I'd love to see it.
