Dear Deidre, I’ve just discovered your channel and I appreciate your advice and comments a lot, I also love your gentle approach to the audience and think you’re a beautiful person, inside out (still catching up on your videos). May I suggest that the camera should take you more from a lower point of view (from the floor up basically) to make you look taller? Don’t mean to offend you or say you’re short, I just find it more flattering for everyone and I always have it done that way since I’ve discovered it. Having said that I appreciate all your help and have a great week. Love from Italy

I’m glad you didn’t say “to look younger”. I want to look my best, not try to fool people that I’m younger than I am, which is an obsession among most women here in the US. You said it best, we want to: look and feel our best, look up to date and look modern! I’m thrilled to be 64, it certainly beats the alternative! My figure is better and I’m healthier than I was 20 years ago, so no complaints here about aging. I have a very classic style, so I try to incorporate some more modern items, too, so I don’t look stuffy, especially with up-to-the-minute, high-quality footwear. I think this helps a lot, out of style shoes can really bring down an otherwise good outfit. Love your channel, Deirdre, you’re stylish, friendly and positive🙂

Hi Deirdre, great advise! My tip I have adopted is get rid of all my black clothes and change to blue, all shades from turquoise to teal. I feel lighter and feel younger.A posh bag doesn’t go amiss either! Fabulous necklace xx

I'm still recovering from Sepsis and am very grateful to still be around. Before I was ill I'd bought some lovely summer dresses I was really proud of. My problem is I've got to wear thick compression knee high stockings which look horrible with dresses and I'd also bought some lovely ankle grazer trousers which also look ridiculous with the thick stockings. So I'm stuck with long trousers preferably stretch. So all these lovely outfits I love seeing but my style is a bit restricted at present. But still grateful to be alive.
I can relate. I love a pair of wider leg, structured pants (sort of beachy) in either cotton gauze or linen. Maybe worn with espadrilles to look summery.

Im the same though. I have horrendous varicose veins and my legs arent fit to be seen TBH. I tend to wear wide legged trousers or (more often) maxi skirts or dresses. You can get some lovely floaty summer options, esp if you shop second hand! Then in winter I go for knee length with opaque tights or leggings.

I like the first outfit, I would just add a navy print silk scarf and white linen blazer. That would give a French twist, too. Also, a cuff bracelet and modern earrings would be nice. But, I do wear lots of classics.

Hi Dierdre. I love your tips! I totally agree about wear what makes YOU happy! I have a wardrobe of lovely things but in reality only a few outfits make me feel reeeeally good each time I wear them ☺ A favourite pair of smart white boot leg jeans that fit perfectly are my go to, you know, when I have absolutely 'nothing to wear' 😏 I've recently found I'm drawn to hot pink, something I never thought would be my cup of tea but actually I'm chuffed about it after a life time of black, white, green & beige! 😄 oh, FABULOUS NECKLACE.

I only met my grandma on my mothers side a few times. She was rather stylish back in the mid if the 20th century . Her hats were imported from either Italy or France to the State of Maine here in the USA.
Her saying to ke as a young lady was: always wear what looks good on you.... not necessarily what the fashion of the time is.
Then she added: get all dressed up....take off one piece of jewelry and that's just right. I still own some of her pieces of what is now antique jewelry.....when I do wear a piece...i get a lot of compliments 😉.

I bought a pair of black and white checked slacks and just love them… especially for travel but I noticed they were a bit too baggy looking with sneakers when I arrived at my destination so … I added a black top, my black viavaia Margo walkers and a denim jacket and voila! A whole different look … your videos have upgraded my style, look… and my wardrobe for every day and especially when I travel. Keep em coming… thanks Deirdre!

I totally agree. Aging is a privilege and let's embrace it. I really liked some of the before options though. The fewer accessories and flats vs a heel, looked classy and modern imo. I think it's just personal preference because I always choose slightly understated and I try to minimize jewelry and keep it clean and simple. I enjoy our channel.

Fabulous necklace! And great tips. I love t shirt dresses but they can be drab. Finding the right belt isn’t working but a shirt definitely has.
Another one resigned to wearing compression stockings...for life. Had to pass on all my favourite trousers as only wider leg ones don't cling onto the stockings and rise up. Doesn’t look great at 5' 2". FABULOUS NECKLACE
