Back in the 1970s, I was a police officer with a small town south of Atlanta, Georgia, in South Fulton County. I was a firearms instructor and weapons officer and was contacted by the legal division of the Georgia SPCA, who asked if I could help with a "wild dog" problem in South Fulton County. When I visited with them, they showed me films of the feral dogs which were infesting certain parts of the woods around the area. Many of these dogs were cast-offs from people who had bought a puppy for their kids for Christmas or whatever, and after several months, they grew too big for them to manage or feed, and instead of taking them to the SPCA Animal Shelter, they would just take them out into the woods and release them, not caring what would happen to them. Most of these animals would survive by eating from garbage cans, etc., and eventually they would pack up, and that's when they became dangerous, especially to humans walking alone at night, not to mention several attacks on small children. You are right about these wild dogs and their lack of fear of humans.
Hello and hello from Detroit Michigan brother thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise and for taking us along with you on your adventure through the woods
I met a former US Marines officer many years ago who was a Harvard educated linguist specialising in Russian who had spent his career listening to Soviet radio comms. He came to Russia without telling the US authorities (as he wouldn't have been allowed) as soon as he could when perestroika really got started 90-91 "to meet the people he had been listening to". Anyway he was in Moscow, met a Russian girl and never went home :)

according to books i ve read, not personal experience!, people used to hunt polar bears with things like that to save bullets.. this is extremely efficient as a weapon...
It's basically a spear - aka a "knife on a stick" - one of the oldest and also most effective weapons. All the pole-arms that show up thru history are just variations of that theme.

Sure. If u see a forest u find it at - 20 or +20. You always can find a tree staing dry no big deal. Harder at winter cuz no leaf to see instanly, but possible anyway. If it's not a city park dead trees stays there :).
@@SurvivalRussia I live in Poland, and I had been carrying a hatchet or a folding saw, but almost never used them. There is too much dry firewood around. Just pick up, and build a fire. Simple as that

Living in the rural countryside in both the USA and Russia I think are quite similar. I was born in Arkansas USA. Very flat land that gets a lot of snow, but not as much as places like Montana or Siberia. Average Americans and Average Russian citizens have much more in common than not. Russia and America should be friends! I respect Russia very much.
I think I remember you saying that you can own the land, but you don't own the trees on the land. Landowners here in the USA own the land and it includes the trees and also sub surface minerals and petroleum.
@@SurvivalRussia Mineral rights don't always come with the deed in the US... timber rights as well, they can be separate items but are *usually* inclusive.
He is a moron. I heard some of his comments on his Joe Rogan interview. One thing he said was, that the reason for the war in UKR is that Russia never managed to build an real road network, thus Russia's agricultural sector was inefficient. Because of that, Russia has to "move the goal post" and occupy new territory. Something along those lines. Russia is elf sufficient with foods and the worlds third largest exporter of wheat. Zeihan is in bed with the US defense "analytic" industry.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published an updated forecast for the state of the global economy and the economies of individual countries in 2023 and 2024, the forecast for Russia has improved, follows from the document. According to the IMF, last year the country's GDP contracted by 2.2% (according to the forecast made in October, the decline was supposed to be at the level of 3.4%). This year, the fund predicts Russia's GDP growth by 0.3% (according to the previous forecast, a decline of 2.3% was expected), and in 2024 - by 2.1%. In the United States, economic growth last year amounted to 2%, and in the future the indicator is expected to decrease: in 2023, growth will be at the level of 1.4%, in 2024 - by 1%. In China, respectively, it amounted to 3%, this year it is expected to reach 5.2%, but next year it will slow down and will be at the level of 4.5%.
Well, as a resident of Russia, I will add my own vision of the situation from personal experience. The IMF forecast is similar to the truth. Yes, the sanctions created some problems, but not critical ones. Many in the West think of Russia as a big gas station, but Russia actually produces a lot of things on its own, from food to cars, trains and planes. Besides, besides the West, there is China, and there is always the so-called parallel import, that is, import through third countries, which cannot be controlled. In addition to the Western world, Russia has good relations with the rest of the world, and this is a large part of the world's population. As a result, sanctions are practically not felt for the population. There are even some advantages of the situation with sanctions, they began to develop their production even more and these are not empty promises, but already active actions, a lot of new plants are opening, there is potential and competence for this. There is a website in Russian that talks about all new factories and achievements in Russia, the information is constantly updated, you can read through Google translator, in a country that is heading towards the collapse of the economy, factories are usually closed, not opened: sdelanounas.ru
I think you should check up on Zeihan's background. Then you will find out how "impartial" he is. He is or have been part of a CIA related Think-Tank. I watched an interview he did on Rogan's podcast. He's a propagandist and that's all.

If life in "the west" (whatever that is, seems a bit broad...) seems to be nothing but deprivation and debauchery to you, the reason is propably in your head or in your own surroundings and choices in life. Or it might be in your personal characteristics. Since we're talking in broad terms, you have any idea how much unpopulated wilderness, small villages and even good decent traditional people there must be in "the west" as a whole? If you can't find any or if you are unable to live surrounded by such things, you should really go and look in the mirror and ask why that is :)

@@jdoedoenet your comment gave me goosebumps truly beautiful words from someone who’s great.
Thank you for sharing that anecdote of your family history.
Cheers from Siberian Russia my friend

Lars! Hello, how many acres do you have to call your own? Also I was wondering if you have done any come along hunting or come along fishing videos? I think it would be very interesting to see you drop and process a moose or hook and clean some monster pike
Im going to be doing some Fishing in spring here in my area of Siberia next to Lake Baikal we get decent sized Pike and perch!
I would be interested in seeing if and what sort of animal they can hunt in the woodlands where Lars lives. We only get deer here but into the mountains they say there are bears and wolves.
🇺🇸❤🇷🇺
I have an FN FAL bayonet i use for a makeshift poking device on a stick.
according to books i ve read, not personal experience!, people used to hunt polar bears with things like that to save bullets.. this is extremely efficient as a weapon...
It's basically a spear - aka a "knife on a stick" - one of the oldest and also most effective weapons. All the pole-arms that show up thru history are just variations of that theme.
That is a lance Lars. The wood is a staff until you fit the pig sticker.

I watch your video 👍hello have a nice day 👋
Thank you! You too!
Dog representing for the Canine world! Photobombing to the max, love it
Ok for that coat, where you got it?
Hes made his own coats now 🙏🏻 have you seen the most recent video :D
Lol I made something similar with an old MLE bayonet. I use mine for floundering.
😅 we stopped bayonetting the ground after a few people set off IEDs in afghan now when we think there’s a hit we just blow in place and wait for after det explosions. Secondary explosion and move on.
Poking at the ground is scary
@@Wild-Siberia Ive heard of people stabbing their own feet but thankfully in NZ theres not many landmines. Scary thought though lol.
@@bigboi7817 😅🙏🏻
Is it possible in your area to gather some firewood without using tools? Fall small, dry trees by hand, by just pushing etc. Of course not for -20C and more
Of course it is.
Simple as that
In Canada that would be illegal. It could be construed as a spear. You guys have liberties we do not have.
But don’t you need to defend yourself in Canada ?
@@Wild-Siberia Nope in Canada your supposed to run away from any danger if you can or you might get arrested for trying to defend yourself government orders. I am simplifying it of course.

In Sweden and Russia it is not like that.
@@SurvivalRussia Mineral rights don't always come with the deed in the US... timber rights as well, they can be separate items but are *usually* inclusive.
🇺🇸Daniel, is great. He's a pioneer who found love at Lake Bakail and loves to fish.
Hey my brother 🫡🇷🇺❤️🇺🇸 so glad to find you here I’m working on a new video all the way from Olkhon island in the lake itself
Hey, Lars, some dude named Peter Zeihan said that the economic destruction of Russia started 4 days ago. Just wondering how it’s going so far.

Where in the US are you from? I'm from Indiana.
I’m originally from Southern California. Met many marines from Indiana good infantrymen come from your state.
Danny made a good choice for various aspects of societal benefits versus the deprivation and debauchery currently in the West.
Really? You got to make it political? don't you think there's enough politics these days going around
Lol, I live in the West, where can I get some of that debauchery?
If life in "the west" (whatever that is, seems a bit broad...) seems to be nothing but deprivation and debauchery to you, the reason is propably in your head or in your own surroundings and choices in life. Or it might be in your personal characteristics.
Since we're talking in broad terms, you have any idea how much unpopulated wilderness, small villages and even good decent traditional people there must be in "the west" as a whole? If you can't find any or if you are unable to live surrounded by such things, you should really go and look in the mirror and ask why that is :)
In all honesty, I’ve just found peace in Russia. I’ve fought a war my body is broken the life in America doesn’t slow down for anyone.
In Russia you’re free to make life go as fast as you want or slow it down if you wish. This is the freedom I lost in America that still exists in Russia with all respect to you all this is my opinion thanks

@@Wild-Siberia I am very happy in rural America and I have found the place I want to be, however I totally understand what your saying, especially about the pace of life and how obsessed Americans are with going fast and grinding their bodies to the bone. @@Wild-Siberia your video thumbs are like the ones we see with the war. Also I dont click on the videos with the thumbs looking the way your do. It looks like a channel that will not get anywhere. Especially with the Putin pics. It looks childish. Sorry bud.
@@deadpresident78 fair enough. I’m just an American having fun with the Putin photos. I’m new to this 1 month and some change.
