I definitely found this video useful and it was great to see a new Survival Russia video on my birthday! I appreciate all you do Lars, Cheers from Maine!
I've carried the veshmeshok for over 15 years, well one of my favourite packs to use , there like a tardas unbelievable how comfortable they are especially with a German ground mat inside.👍🏻
Hello 👋 my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this informative video. You always do a great job. It looks you are set for almost any emergency. Stay safe out there, my friend. 😊
I wish we could buy ultra basic tough four wheel drive trucks and sort of cars like the one you have . Here in North America a new truck is crazy expensive as they pretty much all come with all the bells and whistles. A great deal of the stuff they have in the new trucks a person that uses the truck for work would not want or need. Still there it is fancy leather and carpet .
Always interesting to compare your basic kit videos over the years. The fundamentals are still the same, but a few updates are made now. One that always stuck with me was the food pouch to go along with the mess kit.
I used to use my father soviet millitary backpacks when going to mushrooms hunting... wstching this chanel remembers of good old times.❤ those backpackers were really hard to break...
"Multi-tools suck, but they can actually come in pretty handy" "...I want to hear the snap, thank you." 😂 I'm not alone! Thanks, as always, for the content.
Lars, your ancient military pack, can also be made with a sack, 2 stones, and a length of cord. Can you show us that please, for the uneducated amongst us.. O.o TVM mate.
I always love the equipment checks and I definitely have a couple tourniquets in my bags. I finally got a makarov and love the little “printer” 😉 It’s better than a xerox any day.
Thank you Lars you always make great videos and can’t wait to see new ones. Love Mrs survival Russia. She seems like a very nice lady and you make a great couple
I have plastic tobacco containers with screw on lids which makes them water proof. Another thing to consider is a small solar panel to charge phones and whatever you carry. Slave Russiya fron Manitoba Canada.
I hope you and the family are safe from harms way. Prefer all in the world safety. But I've become attached to you guys and wanting only the best. Keep doing g what you do.
You didn't mention several things that I consider essential. #1- a compass. Electronic devices are fine, as long as they work. But they depend on batteries, which can fail. They also can be ruined by dampness, a real possibility in the field. I also pack a LifeStraw water filter. Also, a topo map of the area I'm in. A hand ax is useful, in addition to the bushcraft knife. Several different ways of firestarting. A whistle and signal mirror. A poncho, tarp, and/or plastic sheet. All of the things that you listed as well. The main self defense in my area is bears, and mountain lions. And of course, some humans, unfortunately. I carry bear spray, but not in my pack. I want instant access. You also briefly mentioned firearms. I know that you are in Russia, and I don't know the laws there. but here I have a carry permit. So I carry a sidearm, a .357 magnum revolver, and either my mossberg 500 shotgun, or a Mosin Nagant M-44 rifle. I bought 3 of these when they were selling for $80 each, and now I wish I had bought many more since now they sell for over $200 each. It's a great field gun, and the cartridge is powerful enough to eliminate any of the above predators. Of course, these are not pack items either, but extra ammo is.
- You did not pay attention, or skipped through the video. I did in fact mentioned and showed the compass I am carrying. Plus my Pro-Trek watch which also has a compass. I always advocate carrying two compasses. My phone is water and dust proof and I have never had any problems with any of the different outdoors phones which I use. - I said that I would not "talk knives, as it's a given." I had four knives on me while making this video and all of them has ferrorod attached to them, but again, I was not talking knives in this video. - I said that "everything else is add-ons. After a LifeStraw failed me utterly on trip to Finland, in a situation in which I relied on it, I would never carry one again. Water from the river can be boiled and since I had two 5 liter bottles in this kit, I would not need a filter. In my experience and the way I do things, an axe is rarely an essential item for me.
Those damn Mosin's....wouldn't I love to have had a crystal ball say 8-10 years ago. Every gun store had CASES of them laying around, $70 all day. Story of my life...
I think Lars is one of the few that could go back in the wilderness in history and survive well. Or wilderness today, for that matter. Some different technology nowadays for sure, but I'm sure he could use flint and steel, oilcloth, etc. effectively. Might be a cool video, using historical items. With respect to all the spoons, evidently a spoon is important; my Pop told me several times that he always carried one in his shirt pocket in the USMC in Korea in 1951...
I always carry a whistle with me in the forests. Such a small object weights nothing but it can be a real life saviour if you get lost or get injured in the wilderness and your phone is dead.
Instead of regular toilet paper I keep paper towels that can retain their structural integrity If they get wet. Regular toilet paper turns into a clumpy mess if wet.
Thanks for another fun video I saw all your cordage you ought to do a video on farm and leg a mobilization for brakes and sprains sticks and cords make a pretty good brace.
Hey Lars! Great video and very interesting things you carry in your bag. Do you carry an additionak food pouch in your pack all the time? Thank you for sharing this cool video and all the best from Austria 🇦🇹🤠👍🏕🔥
It really depends on the situation, if I carry the food pouch or not. I did not carry it when I left camp for going fishing. I was not far from camp (max 1km) and it was not hard to find my way back, even without the phone GPS. Had it been a different situation, I might had brought some food with me. There is no need to carry more than I need. This is why I bring an extra small pack, for when leaving camp. It provides flexibility so I can pack according to the situation.
@@SurvivalRussia you should look up the definition of Conscription and mobilization, because a lot of conscripts are not vacationing in Ukrainian pow camps. Hope you’re not using a VPN as I hear they are frowned upon by your czar.
