Glad to see I’m not the only one who has days like that, two rods on the rocks is hard work so well done for sticking with it and still catching keep it up 👍
Your braver than me taking 2 rods into the rough stuff. Not get much rougher than Howick. I hardly ever take 2, if I’m on a beach chasing bass or flats maybe. Maybe over west for Rays. Like you said in your video, you end up spending all you time tying and baiting up, Reeling in casting out. I end up forgetting what rod needs to come in 😂 My advice would be stick to 1 in the rough stuff. Your videos are great, keep doing what you do matey. 👊🏻🎣
We've all been there Danielle not every session runs nice and smooth as you've just proved cracking venue nice scenery catching fish makes it all worth while keeping up the good work another nice video 🦈🎣💪
Hi, I live about 200 yards behind where you are standing! Ive just been there now, and believe me, its a different day today! You can hardly stand up and the sea is mountainous.
Keeping your mishaps in your videos just shows your dedication to fishing. Things never go to plan all the time. You showed patience and didn't let bad luck keep you down. Things will go better next time 😂😂❤❤
Great video up on the rocks Danielle, looked lovely mark . Please be careful and safe tho as your not got any life saver equipment on . Appreciate your efforts again ,🎣🎣👍🏼 Paul
Well done Hinney a tough session but that's just fishing with a few mishaps but the location and weather looked stunning , as for the bait needle I never use worm baits without one you just seem to get great bait presentation .
Hi Danielle, another great video, changed the intro 🎶🎵 music I see, I was fishing at South shields on the 17th, lovely hot day, I prefer only using the one rod, your on the go all the time when using two, but you must have a better chance of catching using two, look forward to your next video, 😊
Thanks David I’ve had issues using my usual background music, something has changed with the free copyright on them. I’m going to try and write / record my own music in the near future 🤩👍🎣
Can i suggest you check the ceramic inserts in rod guides. If this happens, you often get line snapping. Its a good thing to do quite regularly. I have quite a lot of days like yours.
Haha I think everyone has these kind of days from time to time - thankfully not every time 😆 I do check the rod rings before and after each session, they’re still in pretty good shape 🤩👍
Another canny video Danielle, I lost plenty of weights on Wednesday, fishing a mark at cullercoats, but had a mixed bag of fish (returned). Sea scorpions don't sting, they are just spikey. Great music intro too. Tight lines hinny.
Thanks David Good that you’ve been catching. I’ll have to scout out Cullercoats, I do fancy having a go there this winter as it’s just around the corner 😊👍🎣
Well done Danielle - good perseverance 🙂 Looks like that spool you nearly ran out of line on is designed for braid, not mono line, ie: braid is much thinner so you get much more on a shallow skirted spool like that. The sinker snap offs (love the 'boing" sound effect !!) were probably the rotten bottom detaching in which case the 30lbs line isn't going to hold out !!
Thanks Ian I do have braid on that reel, it was on when I bought it so I’m unsure if it’s spec- the spool is very shallow and tbh could do with just a little more line on, I think I will order some new braid around the 60lb strength and fill the spool right up. It’s a lovely reel - Shakespeare Aero GT 7000, I got it for £35 off eBay as my first big reel 😊
If I’m fishing rock marks I tend to only fish 1 rod to minimise the amount I need to carry and potentially lose, if I’m fishing close or from the van I use 2 rods for easy fishing. What sort of camera equipment do you use as I’m thinking of having a go documenting my trips. Great content as always
Awesome looking location, Danielle 😊 very fishy , granddaughter upset at weekend 😢 she was asked to go 2 work , as kitchen staff rang in sick, ( coincidence it was a long weekend 😮 ) when for a fish by myself, lost gear smashed by big fish 😢 when home with nothing 😮. Happy catching from Australia Nick 🇦🇺 😊
Hi Nick Yeh great location which I think will fish great through the winter. Ah that’s a shame for her, having to go to work instead of fishing, due to someone shirking off work. I hope you both get out together v soon and catch a feee good fish 🤩👍
Hi class video am looking to fish this spot me self at weekend is it best to fish low to hi and is there place to park the car appreciate your help thanks
I’d say from low up so you can see what your fishing in to. Parking nearby, space for around ten cars but weekends can get busy with walkers who park there and walk up to the castle along the coastal route
Hi Dannielle, love the intro music, very apt, fitting of the occasion and atmospheric. I've eventually managed to get out fishing, had a few hours down at Hendon Promenade and caught a couple of small flatties, only 8" long, but my first rod caught sea fish and I'm happy, I'm looking forward to my next trip and see what the sea delivers. Tight lines. Alan.
Thanks Alan That’s great that you’ve been out fishing, and catching fish. I’ll have to have a look down that way sometime as I’ve never been south of the Herd Groin in Shields yet 😊👍🎣🐟🐟
A bit of bad luck there Danielle. Nice to see you trying the baiting needle that I recommended to you a couple of weeks ago, it really is a useful tool & not only for worms. It’s also helpful when using squid & crab and also combination baits. You did well to stick it out all day, sometimes you just know it’s not going to be your day ❤️🐟
Well young lady always good to see your videos. I know things did not go your way but having a day of Murphy's law will teacht you alot and make the good days more enjoyable Looking forward to you next post
Hiya Hinny, I notice your weight is almost motionless immediately before you cast. You might like to try what David does. He swings the rod behind him & as the lead swings further around & bends the rod tip, THEN cast. You will then be pre-loading the spring in the rod & added to your own effort, it might help your distance, as you pondered last week. Great video, but it's a tackle hungry spot, that's for sure. Well done lass !
Thanks Ash I need to get on a field and have a go at some different casting methods while not fishing - I’m sure I can add a few more yards onto my cast 👍
I couldn't avoid catching at Cullernose yesterday, the sea was full of small fish. There was the odd bigger one. I landed 12 codling, coalies and pollock, took home 2 of the biggest, both around 2lbs
Stunning location especially viewed from your drone. Another great video Dannielle. Your fishing and videography is going from strength to strength. The new intro music is perfect too. Look forward to the next one. ps. I’ve blanked twice this week lure fishing…
Thanks Greg I was pleased with that drone footage, it’s not often that I get to fly it these days as it’s always windy. I had a lure sesh up at St Abbs / Eyemouth last week too, it wasn’t very productive- half a dozen small very small 🤷🏻♀️
@@fishinghinny thats fishin’. Water is often too coloured around here but we keep going at it. I’ve had a few bass on lures this month though, up to 50cm. I really fancy getting one of those drone things😏
The drones are good (Dji), but they do take some nerve to fly around water, there’s always a worry it may disappear as has already happened to me at Kielder Water. They can be a distraction from the fishing too, I tend to make a ten minute slot to film with it then I put it away first the day
@@fishinghinnyI got a closeup hands-on look and a demo of one of those dji drones last week (estate agent brought it along) - i’m defo gonna have to get myself one - hmm Christmas is approaching fast🎅🏻😁
👍 Mine is the mini se, with flymore pack. Video quality is spot. I’d recommend getting the extra batteries as flight time is only around 20 mins per battery
Good Morning Danielle , We all have bad days tbh , i only fish 2 rods when im on the beach in daytime , the spool thats nearly empty i think is for braid as i use braid all the time , not a blank at the end of the day , still a great video & content well done , take care & tight lines , till the next time
Thanks Steve I did feel a little rushed with the two rods that day, I might try just the one next time for a more relaxing day. I do have braid on that reel but it is what was on it when I bought it second hand - I need to replace it with lighter line, it could do with filling up a little more too as it’s not quite full 👍🎣
Thanks Mick Yeh the sharp hook is important, fish gave quite tough skin so anything other might jot pierce the fish. A really sharp hook and the fish will hook itself 😊🎣
Hello again , we all have days like that but it's good for the soul , I fish a lot of rough ground for conger and use stones instead of leads , cable tie on stone then rotten bottom under cable tie to the rig
Thanks Paul Funny you should say that, I’ve often wondered if using small rocks would work on heavy rock marks where a short cast is used. I might give that a try sometime if weights start disappearing 🤩👍🎣
@@fishinghinny Good idea Hinny there,s nothing wrong with your casting there,s some cracking reels about nowadays. One more thing i,m no expert but try neoprene rig tubing GEMINI do it and a sequin as a bait stop instead off crimps it can weaken your hook link d,nt want to hook that life time fish and lose it because your hook link snaps, Goodluck Hinny and keep the vids coming😬
Try your reel much further down use your left hand for your reel and push with your right hand just practice with a weight on only until u get used to it when u get it right you can feel the rod bend and the power going into your cast
I have tried it with the reel towards the bottom but I find that a bit odd to cast that way. I have moved the reel down another 4” after that session so I’ll see how that goes 👍
Been enjoying your videos till now the way Dave returned the codling was terrible no thought for it's wellbeing. On another point if you're missing bites try making the worm into 4 inch sausages same amount of worm and smell just a smaller target area
Yes needle though 4 worm heads lie along fold over wrap with elastic slid off stick needle though like a worm slide on the hook. Or get a bait mate and make up cart and lug squid sausages freeze down works great
You seem to be doing ok the way u fish now don’t mend it if it ain’t broke and we all have disaster days when nowt goes right but u stuck at it and got fish😂
Good workout session in spectacular scenery on a glorious day, but can be bloody hard work 😅. Very enjoyable watch Danielle. Arthur.
Thanks Arthur
Haha yeh, it’s definitely hard work fishing. I’ve had the odd relaxing day but most days are pretty tiring 😆
Glad to see I’m not the only one who has days like that, two rods on the rocks is hard work so well done for sticking with it and still catching keep it up 👍
Thanks Stephen
Thankfully those types of days are few and far between 😆
Your braver than me taking 2 rods into the rough stuff.

Yeh it was one of those days for sure.
The location, and the fish made up for it though 🤩
It's a pretty tough place to fish Danielle so well done, I'm pretty sure that's the Doctor's house though.
Thanks Alan
Nice place, I’ll be going back.
It’s called the Bathing House, but you are correct with Doctors House as it is known to anglers 👍
Hi, I live about 200 yards behind where you are standing! Ive just been there now, and believe me, its a different day today! You can hardly stand up and the sea is mountainous.
I can imagine with that wind out there.
I’ll be out tomorrow night hopefully 🤞

Yeh, just showing it like it is, I think that is the key to a decent video.
Hopefully I’ll have a run of hassle free sessions now 😊👍🎣
Another highly entertaining video Danielle. 😢😢We all have days like this, more so than less. Chin up and just keep doing what you love.

I really meant to say that sometimes the ceramic guide inserts may be cracked. These cracks can have sharp edges which cut through fishing line.
I’ll have a check of that before my next outing Mike 👍
