    I have this rifle in 350 Legend. The bolt was rough out of the box. I took some sharpening stones to the machine marks, then coated the bolt in lithium grease and had my son run the action 1,000 times (for disrespecting his mother). Now it is smooth. Like James said, not silky like a high end rifle, but much improved. Relatively pleasant. The rifle is accurate. Went 2 for 2 on deer last fall.

      I have the same in 350 legend. What mags have you been using? I’ve only tried with a 10rd pmag(10 rds of 556 that is), and I have had feeding issues. Did you get specific 350 legend mags for yours?

    I have this rifle in 300blk, 7.62x39, and 5.56. I love them all. The 7.62 bolt was kind of blah out of the box. But after a few hundred rounds and a little work on the bolt, it’s like butter. For a few years my 300blk was my porch deer rifle. Most shots were around 40-80 yards suppressed. My own hand loads. But all but one dropped where they stood. The 5.56 is what I use to test all my 5.56/223 reloading. It’s a freaking tact driver with multiple ammo brands. Not to mention the insane accuracy I was getting out of the 7.62x39. I’m getting more like half inch groups at 100 with Barnaul and the steel cased Hornady.

    • @twinglock40z
      @twinglock40z 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@rodrigohernandez4422 so… I took the bolt out and did a thorough cleaning. At this point though I had already ran the rifle a good bit. So the action was a good bit smoother than it was out of the box… still not great or as smooth as I wanted it. Anyways… i could still feel some rough spots or burs on the bolt in various spots. I wet sanded those down with some pretty fine sand paper. I can’t remember exactly what grit. I then took a microfiber cloth and rubbed it across various spots and if it wasn’t smooth(a micro bur grabbing some of the cloth) I sanded the area down more till the cloth didn’t grab anywhere. I then used some flitz compound and gave the whole bolt a couple good runs of polishing with the flitz. When I first got the rifle I noticed there was spots on the inside of the action where the bolt runs as well. So I went looking in there with the microfiber cloth as well. Well those had almost all worked themselves smooth. So went over the area with a little flitz for good measure. Boom! It’s so much quieter and runs buttery smooth.

    • @twinglock40z
      @twinglock40z 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@sylverbullit7192 so… I’ve heard about this issue before. I’ve read that taking the mags apart and flipping the mag spring upside down will keep the rounds from nose diving. All that being said, I never had to deal with this. When I first got mine I couldn’t find any 10 or 20 round factory mags for sell. So I just called and got the ar mag well from ruger(same magwell on the 5.56 and 300blk that use ar mags) so now I can shoot my ar style 7.62x39 mags since I already had a bunch of the asc mags anyways.

  • @wagstag89

    I had a lot of 7.62x39 and bought one of these as soon as they came out. I've tried every type of ammo I could get my hands on and mine shoots 1 inch or less at 100 yards with everything. I can keep hunting through any ammo shortage with this rifle and Russian soft points. I put a night vision scope and bipod on mine and I've killed tons of hogs with it. Definitely a keeper

    Good video! I’ve got a Savage 110 .308 and I pimped the he’ll out of it. It was $600 with a threaded barrel, adjustable trigger (down to 2 pounds), and adjustable plastic stock (to an extent). I threw on a vortex crossfire 2 (highly recommend this scope for its super user friendly interface and bang for your buck), got one of my local gunsmiths to make a custom muzzle break for me (almost as big as a 50 cal 😂) got a Harris bipod and a $20 sling, and ordered a wood stock from Boyd’s. I gotta say, I spent too much, but it’s got INSANE accuracy. The groupings you were shooting at 50, it was doing at 100 with 20 mph winds plus the power of 308 versus 300 blk. Obviously, it just depends what you want, but mine’s a deer rifle. If I’m gonna shoot, I’m not planning on shooting more than once and if I do, it’s to get more than one deer and either suppressed or not, the deer are still gonna be spooked that their friend just dropped dead next to them so I say it’s an even trade

    My current bolt action is a Remington 700, the original barrel was a 22" .308, which I've since replaced with an X-Caliber 28" .243 Winchester M24 profile barrel, 1 : 7.5 twist. The scope I'm using is a 12x42 SWFA Super Sniper.
    It's a bear to carry, but it pushes 115 grain DTACs at 3150-3200 FPS with hand loads very accurately. With 6 to 6.5 mils of drop at 1,000 yards, and less than a mil in adjustment for 5mph cross wind at the same range, I'm happy with it.
    The rifle ran me $500 used, the barrel was around $600 from X-Caliber, and the scope cost me about $220 on a black Friday sale.
    Oh, and those 115 grain DTACs hit with AUTHORITY at those velocities. Over 2,000 ft lbs as far put as 250 yards.

    I’m disabled and a hunter so I need a super lightweight set up. I went with the American Ranch in 7.62x39. I chose the x39 due to having thousands of rounds already stocked being an AK and SKS collector. This relatively inexpensive rifle shoots lights out with cheap Russian steel cased ammunition. For white tail I use 124gr S&B soft point and for hogs
    I use 154gr Wolf Soft point. My only knock on it is that Ruger mini 30 mags are pricy and kind of suck, at least in this rifle. Wish they had a way to run 7.62x39 AR mags in it. I know they are a PITA as well but that’s usually over 10 rounds. I topped it off with a Primary Arms FFP 1x6 with the 7.62x39 calibrated Raptor reticle.
