That axe head is awesome.
Fantastic days dig Dan, cheered me up. Had a bit of a dissapointing days dig last saturday, my Legend decided to stop working for more than half the day, untill one of my mates worked out how to fix it. Only got a couple of hours in. Plus none of us really found much that day, but thats the way it goes sometimes. Nice to see someone having success, with some great finds.
Well done mate, I dug a very similar axe head last year, which came up in two parts. The museum said it was a Flat Axe - circa 4000 years old. They suspected it may have been broken by the owner intentionally, (a process known as ritually killed), prior to deposition for some ceremonial purpose.
Still easily my best find to date and such a thrill to pull something so old from the earth. Congratulations 👏
