Hey professor. I'm new to Magic.
I got intrested by seeing you introduce yugioh players to magic.
I like it alot, it's a new card game for me to learn.
I've been playing for almost 2 weeks now and I'm Gold Tier 1 in MTGA.
I haven't been passed that yet but I'm already seeing the similarities between the card games as I rank up.
There are people that still try to not let you play Magic.
Just like purple on yugioh try to stop you from playing the game yugioh.
It seems sometimes that people are putting 50% of thier decks things like (Murder) and (Planar) destroy and exile cards.
Then
25% is Lands
And 25% creatures.
While I brick for multiple turns, just to lay a creature to be exiled, this happens like 5 times in a row sometimes.
My question is, do you think it's MTGA issue or is it my deck? Because I don't have all the cards I need yet to build a good deck?
Is;
25% Lands
25% Creatures
50% Disruption
Is this the correct formula for a meta deck?

Same. Even a 10 cent reprint is nice if it’s from urza’s saga era and we can get updated frame and text.

I would just like to encourage and uplift this channel once more for the technical quality of the AV in each video. I love and appreciate it.
I think I’ve come to realize what Magic: the Gathering has become.
World of Warcraft. Each new modern horizon is like an expansion, promising super powerful cards your deck or character surely needs to stay competitive. Inbetween, there are patch updates or new sets, each one giving boosts in power, but only slightly. And then there are the add ons, transmogs that make your character or decks pretty, aka secret lair.
This is just video games but even more expensive.

Magic does come with the added benefit of being a physical collectible that could appreciate in value over time, though. Nobody should expect to make all of their money back by selling their collection, but at least you could recoup some of the costs. The remainder would have been money spent on devoting your time to working on a hobby you enjoy and making memories playing the game with friends, so it all evens out in the end.

@@enternamehere5498 that has nothing to do with making one specific set 'modern playable', much less one you know nothing about, and have no ability to compare to existing tribal archetypes, nor does Urza's Incubator itself have any basis in modern playability
I lean more towards Urza's Incubator being reprinted as a way to get fresh product out ahead of all the expected EDH player wanting one for their Bloomburrow precons and custom decks from the set.

Love that phyrexian tower and recruiter are getting reprinted, but I'm mad as hell the losers upshifted them to mythic. Their needle won't move much on the price.

@WangFire wrong recruiter. Imperial recruiter was originally uncommon in portals. Recruiter of the guard is the one in this set, which was originally rare in conspiracy.
MH3 Recruiter of the Guard is half the price that older ones are.
Did you see that there's also retro frame reprints of MH2 cards, like Ragivan and Esper Sentinel. I believe that they're only found in collector boosters however.
Yup . Collector booster only. I saw a guy cracking a foil retro Ragavan in a video here on TH-cam. I shiver on the thought of how much is it going to cost.

This is the first time I’ve looked at cards for this set, been kinda out of the loop lately. I’m gonna go on the hunt for bargains on those fetchlands for sure, and a copy of Cephalid Coliseum. Ooh the _Tower_ too. Double Masters was my “artifact” set where I bought the expensive artifacts I always dreamt of, this seems to be the “Land” set for me.
I remember when this channel came up years ago I was like neeeeeeerd, now I'm literally checking the whole channel out for information on MTG that I literally only started 3 days ago after recently getting into tabletop games this year due to the state of video games, still a little confused around commander and standard but I'm getting there.
What's going on for you and the state of videogames...? I know I've been having some issues with choosing to play in my spare time, even with a large backlog of games.
@@stratavosstuff7575 I literally get bored in less than an hour with many recent games, I can sit and play something like crysis and be glued, i still enjoy older games, but when it comes to games for ps5 I feel the games look and play great but lack content that im excited to complete, last recent game I genuinely enjoyed was boltgun, but anything else I play for a little while and don't go back to it.

Not surprised about the impact of Cephalid Coliseum, I got two of them on my prerelease and I assume many drafters will see it in their pools so the supply obviously goes way up.
I have a Laelia from the commander deck and I always thought "man this card would be sick in 1v1"

All Will Be One has a neat home in the Laelia decks. Probably not for professional modern, its CMC is too high, but for her as a commander that would work well.
reason windswepth heath has been cheaper, was due to it's inclusion in the dragons of tarkir theme deck, that where overprinted and available at 16 bucks including several other relevant to standard cards and a other 10+ card (well it was back then). Heath then even dipped below 6 bucks in europe for a while.
Buy a scratcher for fun, you could even win a boat!

Actually, there are some who would be sad by cracking fetches. Specifically me. I'd much rather get Ajani, Grist, Urza's Incubator, the Eldrazi titans, and the Eldrazi land, than fetches.
Might be that Fetches are useful in magic decks, but if I got any, they'd just go straight in my trade folder. I don't much care about hyper-optimizing my land base. Slow lands and snow lands, and pain lands are plenty fine for me.
I might finally buy fetch lands! I wonder how much lower the price will go though 🤔

only reasons I'm getting a bundle is because I have a $40 off a sealed purchase at one of my lgs's, the dice is neat, and it comes with a promo of a card on my list anyway.
I usually buy 1 collector booster during prerelease to support the shop. That support is gonna cost me $125 for the prerelease fee and the collector booster this time. Yay premium sets.
Huh? You're getting jacked man. 35-40$ collector booster...45-50 prerelease kit and tax is gonna come out to 90-100. You're own fault here for supporting those gougers
@awskater5899 part of it is the increased shipping costs. Part of it is that the tax is already included in the price. I'll have to see what the retailers sell the collector boosters for locally, but considering they're 44.99 online, I wouldn't be surprised if they were 49.99 (or more) in the store. So $50, tax included, for a collector booster is actually pretty reasonable. Don't just accuse people of gouging simply because you don't understand the economics.
I know Eminence is stupid and all, but can we all just get a reprint of Edgar, please.

Dumb question. Why are the fetch lands referred to as friendly and enemy?
Depends on the color combination if they are enemy or friendly colors depending if the colors are next to each other on the back of a magic card
@madscientist2621 Alright, that makes sense. I assume the titles of Ally and Enemy represent different factions in the story?
@@dasandvich1547 not necessarily. The two color combos are named after the Guilds from the plane of Ravnica. The 3 color combos are named after the Shards from Alara and also from Tarkir, depending on if the combo is a shard or wedge. Again see the back of a magic card.

Mainly based on older archetypes in the game. Easiest example is white vs. black or red vs. blue (traditionally, life magic vs. death magic, fire vs. water). These colors were kinda tricky to set up in a way to not undermine strategies when in the same deck, and were also thematically set up to be at odds with each other lore wise.
Friendly pairs were the ones that had more overlap, or non-conflicting strategies. R/G for big stompy stompy, rush (lots of cheap hitters in both colors to flood the board with), or ramping into big stompy stompy. R/B for death and destruction. W/U for protection and countering.
Cephalid is in my nekazar deck. Comfortable spot.
