Great video, Panama has come a long way, now very similar to Miami & South Beach in the city (certainly #1 city in Central America) & the beaches that are as good as they get. If you get to visit Panamá don't just get stuck in the city, check out the beaches, mountains (Volcan, Boquete, El Valle, Cerro Azul), islands (San Blas, Taboga, Perlas), Miraflores Visitors Center, Gamboa Rain Forrest, old Spanish forts including Panamá Viejo, Amador Causeway, etc. Visit us on fb Panama, land of my heart Panamá tierra de mi corazón Saludos amigos de Chagres

Yes Panama has many problems but many stupid ExPats foreignors are throwing their money at it (country) driving inflation thru the roof similar to south FLA except at the beginning many were from the NE U.S., now from South America & the world. I do challenge you on to tell me what restaurante refused you service for "wearing sandals or shorts", give me a name & location? Sadly this dress identifies the sad tourists & foreigners visiting Panamá giving local residents the impression that American & others are bums, have a little pride.
Beaches, what beaches did you go to? "---the beaches in Panama's Pacific side aren't worth anything", did you drive 1 -2 hours west of Panama City to Punta Chame, Gorgona, Coronado, Santa Clara or Playa Blanca? I have a feeling you didn't? The beaches from Chame to Playa Blanca are very diverse in approximately 50 kilometers of beach front from volcanic black ash to white sands like Ft. Lauderdale, Miami up the coast & the west coast of FLA. God back & explore these beaches.
Trash, yes a serious problem in Panamá & one that the people need to be educated about to help reduce it.
I do NOT DEFEND Panama, BUT it has come a long way since 1977 when the U.S. began turning the Canal Zone over to Panama. Yes, sadly greet is the driving force just as in the U.S.
Martinelli "President Martinelli, a savvy business man who in five years did more than any of the other presidents in 30", do you know that Martinelli is on the run now, basically a fugitive from Panama for all the illegal acts he committed while President of Panama, you do the "home work" & look up what's going on, it's on the internet. Many of his political associate are now in jail in Panama. God know why a man with a successful super market chain would do what he has been accuse of but you read & decide --- the answer is GREED, it's all over the world.
Having lived in Ft. Lauderdale about 14 years I can say that there are many similarities between Panama & south FLA, many that are NOT improving the quality of life for the average man in the street. In Panama the ruling class, Robi Blancos, have been stealing from the poor & average class (what's there is of average) & putting the money in their pockets. Panama has a ways to go, but it is not a 3rd world country, it maybe a 2nd world, but it's improved a lot since I grew up there as a kid. I only pray to God that the people of Panama get a small amount of the "booty" that the Robi Blancos are skimming off the top & bottom.
Yes there are many similarity between Miami & Panama, too rapid growth & government fiscal responsible are a few of the problems, history will show "how is plays out".

Contrary to one negative report Panamá is a beautiful country with beautiful people, if you have the opportunity do visit. Try to visit 2 weeks to allow yourself to see more of the country & to get into the interior. There is much to see in a country that is about the size of Florida.
