What is antilag for cars? Well I thought i'd bother my favorite gauge wearing pro drift driver Mike Power to give me a run down. PS Rip to my ears & please don't forget to subscribe - bit.ly/3kXgWr0 #shorts
Ah yes “anti-lag” the most alpha way to improve throttle response literally destroying your turbo from the head and shock waves caused by turning the hot side into a discount engine cylinder 😂 Fun fact: the first car to use anti-lag consistently in competition was Toyota’s Celica GT4 ST205, a car that would later get Toyota Team Europe banned from WRC for an ingenious cheat that bypassed the restricter plate mounted to the turbo to reduce hp. AND, if you managed to buy one of the 2500 homologation ST205s made in 1994 Toyota gifted you with all the plumbing necessary for your own Anti-lag system! God I love Toyota!
Professional rally teams swap their turbos out after almost every race due to “spontaneous deconstruction” from anti-lag. It’s extremely valuable in competition if you can afford it.
Actually this isn’t correct. In the WRC, since the early 90’s (or something like the late 80’s) was when Antilag was being used, this could possibly be Throttle-Kick/Bypass Antilag. The ST205 AND the Evo III would later be (most likely) the FIRST ONES to use SECONDARY AIR INJECTION Antilag in the 1995 season, and my guess is that Secondary Air Injection was introduced as a new type of antilag in 1994 or 1995, as it was WAY more reliable than Throttle-Kick/Bypass because the turbos lasted longer and there were more cooling methods for the turbo and engine if I remember correctly. Basically it was a new form of Antilag as it was more sophisticated and had better outcomes relating to engine and turbo reliability, Mitsubishi used Secondary Air Injection in their Evo 3 for the 95 season onward (same as Toyota)
For those who don’t know: Anti lag basically just keeps the turbos spooled up when your off the throttle using the combustion of the engine. Normally turbos have to “charge” before they can be used fully but with anti lag it keeps the turbos spooled so that “charge” period is canceled
Why don't all the POS street cars with "anti lag" sound like this? This has similar idle sound to group b, but those whack Supras just have the bang bang surprise

Oh so that's why I see so many blown up turbos when they're on anti-lag
gah i wish i could use this for gaming
The car?!
@@AlexMartini. Antilag!
thank you for this information
You're welcome!
We've got a new short dropping tomorrow so hopefully you subbed and let me know what you think!
what is it that causes that unique ignition sound, it almost sounds like 2 metal parta spinning against each other
Well look at that..
Hm would a build like tht cost in total?
A lot

Well over $2k
i mean anti lag itself isn't anything more than a special tune, right? so other than the daily turbo replacements it's not that bad

It’s basically self boost
No. Continuous boost
Man that engine sounds knarly!
Do you mean gnarly?
It also destroys your manifold and turbo
Sounds like diarrhea reverberated in a metallic bowl
good
@@Dulc3B00kbyBrant0n yes
Does it spool up the turbo when you rev so you get better acceleration for drag racing?
No antilag only works when you're off throttle, when you open the throttle all of the air goes into the engine like normal
I like these little short demos
