      @Yung G These are definitely amazing Xbox headphones. The ease of use and connectivity with the console is spectacular. However, Dual feed isn’t the best. The left dial (which is party/game) only applies to Xbox, understandably, but still unfortunate. The dual feed also just halves both sound sources (might be changeable?) and mobile discord has some issues, but on Windows, it’s pretty solid. Sound quality isn’t perfect, but very clear, so it’s definitely reliable and amazing for $100.
      Overall, I’m loving the headsets, and am looking forward to using them. Also, they’re very comfortable. Almost forgot I was wearing them.

    • @EndlessNites
      @EndlessNites 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I returned my 9x's and thinking about the MS ones. I probably had a faulty set as they wouldn't turn off and were dropping the Bluetooth signal on my phone so was left with the torture of hearing the phones connection ping every 20s making them unusable with the phone. The sound quality and comfort was no different to my cheap £30 wired set so they weren't worth it. I want wireless and Bluetooth so its either MS or spend a bit more on TB Stealth 700 gen2's for me

    I love the new headset from MS, I also have the Sony PS5 Pulse, both are exceptionally good, but I have to say the MS has Sony beat this time around, especially when you enable the Dolby Atmos app. The audio better than the turtle beach headset I had, I now see no reason to spend any more on a headset. I'm pleasantly happy with this headset. I've never owned an expensive headset so for me it's great! Also my girlfriend likes to watch stuff on her tablet behind me while I game with my friends and I turned up the auto mute to high and none of my friends could hear her listening to the show she was watching. She had it at a comfortable level of sound (it wasn't quiet) and the tablet was 4ft away from my head so it works amazing for me. I'm not trying to be bias by no means but I have both the pulse 3d headset from Sony and now the Xbox headset and I can tell you that the Xbox headset blows the Pulse headset away. The pulse headset imo just isn't as full sounding and doesn't get near as loud. So if you have a pair of headphones that are the same price range I think you'll be pretty damn surprised by how nice these are coupled with the features it has.

    The problem with headsets in the modern world is that there are few opportunities to try them out before buying. If you - like me - have strong preferences for how you like the sound and - like me - have a big head, then it's a challenge.
    I know I usually like the sound from AKG and Sony but for example Bose are not my favorites, but what if I want to try a new brand? Back in the old days there were shops where I could go in and try listening to different headphones before buying, but very few places do that any more and mostly it's places for audiophiles that only sell really expensive models.
    Last year I bought a new pair of AKG headphones that were an update of a model I liked, but the replacement was slightly smaller, and suddenly they didn't fit comfortably. It's annoying having to ship things back just because there is no good way to try before you buy.

    The main thing about this, is no cord. No having to plug into your controller and yanking out by accident. It will save having to replace controllers because if like me you keep unplugging and plugging in, the jacks at the bottom end up giving up. So in the long run, you are saving yourself £40 to £50 buying a new controller because of the mic jack. It would be fantastic if they would auto mute people for playing music or if you could say mute annoying gamer.

    Just got me a pair of these. Game audio isn't terrible. But the mic and chat sounds awful (kind of like an old mono basey radio). Sound quality on my old wired Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Four Stealth is much better. Game audio and chat audio on those is crisp, natural, and clear in comparison.

    Here's my honest truth as a Call of Duty gamer. There is a delay in audio that you will only notice if you are coming from a headset with less latency or a wired headset with no latency. When I first put these on and shot my rifle it was extremely noticeable and actually affected my performance. After a while, though, I started to not notice it. My ears and brain adapted I guess. I was coming from the Turtle Beach 600 wireless which comes with a USB transmitter that im assuming is better with latency than the Xbox wireless connection. If latency doesn't bother you, the sound quality of these is pretty great especially with Dolby Atmos enabled. Good bas, big sound, gets loud. But in Call of Duty, the sound imagining is pretty bad. You either hear footsteps on your left or right. No in between. You might think someone is slightly to your left for example but they are far to your left. Hard to explain but the turtle beaches I had were much better at helping me understand where the enemy was. All in all these are good headphones especially for $99 but if you're a competitive first person shooter gamer I would look elsewhere.

    I would gladly buy some Xbox Elite Headphones designed in collaboration with Sennheiser or AKG.
    My Xbox Headset is already on its way in the mail and I am going to use these things daily just for the multi-device connectivity, you can easily spend hundreds of dollars trying to get multiple audio sources into one pair of headphones so that functionality is definitely a prime selling feature, but I would also instantly buy an Elite Headset with high end drivers and bigger ear pads (ear pads can never be too big).

Also, even after this review, I still want a pair, for I am not expecting super high fidelity for the price. If I expected stellar audio performance, they would arrive with a premium price, not an affordable one. Good honest review though.

    As soon as you start saying "sound stage" you aren't looking for a $99 headset. lol This is a single driver gaming headset. Of course this isn't for a high end gamer...it's $99. Microsoft is creating a headset with B&O that will cater to the high end market. They will be announcing more on this later this year.

    • @TylerLore
      @TylerLore 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Having said that, I spent most of yesterday testing this headset and I think it sounds pretty great. I compared it to $149 Razer Kaira Pro, $299 Surface Headphones 2, and $1,300 64Audio A6T. The sound profile was on par with the Surface Headphones, which makes since. They were better than the Razer Kaira (more clarity and bass). They were worse than my 6 driver custom monitors from 64Audio...obviously. But for gaming the difference wasn't that much given the $1,200 price difference. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for an affordable gaming headset. The feature set and first party support is just too much to pass up.

    I'm enjoying the headset so far. It is the most I have ever spent on a headset. I have gotten 2 cheaper ones over the years at 50 bucks each or one for 50 bucks and the other for 60 bucks. The one never output audio into both ears and the one ear that worked was very poor audio and static like, which was then returned and refunded.
    The other one will work but has been highly uncomfortable on my head. It squeezes it and causes me pain no matter how I adjust it.
    Earbuds have worked for me ,but they have died on me multiple times and did not have a microphone, plus everything I have had has been wired and the wires always get in the way of my hands with the controller.
    I'm glad to have found a reasonably priced OEM, wireless headset and is more comfortable than what I have used before, plus it is multifunctional, which is a big bonus for me.
    Like many things, this is a to each their own as to whether it is an item for them. For me it is a yes, but Brad makes plenty of great points for those that know the experience of higher quality devices.

      As headphones for gaming and movies plus a bit of music, they can be tweaked to be great for the price. As headset they are nothing to write home about due to the crappy mic. Several people kindly asked me to use my Soundcore Spirit X2 instead as their mics sound better, more consistent and clearer. A gaming headset mustn't lose against a pair of TWS earbuds in the mic department imo.
