@LiamKillen - These episodes where you bring in other artists are so f*****ng awesome!! As a musician, hearing people talk about their process and approach is so great.... Like @EZBOT's live streams.
Yes! I’m meeting with someone else again today!
It’s always nice to have different perspectives
Yes agreed, these are very valuable to me.
these are great, more artists setups would be awesome, diggin these🥳
F...lowing awesome?
Absolutely love these episodes where you bring in people to explain their setups, your best vids imo, always an instant click. Weirdly enough, these are kinda hard to find! If you want to find out what musicians really play out with, it’s either the TH-camrs who have tons of videos and whose setup you know forward and back already, or it’s little one offs that lack a detailed walk through.
Cool stuff, man.
Doing another today actually 😏
Thank you for watching!
Also, sounds like you need to bring in this sunshine jones character lol
@@LiamKillenof course, always a pleasure. You, Ricky, and Matthew are the instant watches for me. Except the KO II stuff….makes me too sad😢 lmao
OUTSTANDING content!!! What a fantastic way to approach a setup… thanks for having her on!
It’s my pleasure and thanks for being here!
Really loving your media content with other artists Liam! You keep making awesome work. Thanks.
Lots more to come!
What a great video, Liam and Claire! Loved this video!
Thx for watching!
An other GREAT invite ! I LOVE this type of content !! merci Liam
More like this to come 😊
I love the guests you've been having on the channel
Having another one today - we’ll see how that goes. Thx for watching!
Great video. Another fascinating look at a setup, really inspiring.
🍻
Great interview! Claire is an awesome artist and her workflow is really great. I find interesting when she mention the investment of 10years+ working with hardware and it wasn’t a lot considering what you need to learn. Totally agree on that take!
I 100% agree as well! I’m still an electronic music baby !
Great video. Thanks for this!
Always a pleasure 😊
Great vid! Thanks Liam!
Thx Surco! Lots more like this to come!
Smart Liam! I am loving the personal techno songexploder format.
More to come!
What a cool interview/demonstration
Thanks for watching! 😊
Great video format!
I like that she has independent drums/rithm section that gives clock to the rest of the sequence. makes a lot of sense
Yeah it’s a really interesting approach I thought
Thanks for interviewing ppl that manage to breakthrough the dawless matrix and show how to make cool music on the fly.. keeps hopes up.. ❤🙏❤
It needs to be done!
this music turns the crowd on the dance floor to the moon, excellent
hell yeah
Keep this series going 👌🏼
Lots more to come
Another great episode!
Thx for watching- much more to come 😊
Great video! Claire is the best!
She really is!!
Also thx for watching! Hope you’re well
@@LiamKillen thanks Liam! I'm doing better now. Also had some health stuff I've been overcoming. I hope you're progressing as well!
Very cool seeing Claire on this channel. Shared the stage many, many years ago, and always enjoyed her attitude and playful creative energy. She always maintained a taste for chaos, and it’s so awesome to see that going DAWless provide avenues for freedom.
Still quite new to DAWless, myself.
Great video. Really glad to be a new subscriber and tune into this! Thank you. 👊🏾🧔🏾♂️
She’s great! It was nice having her on the channel 😊
Thnks for all this kind of videos! hope you are doing well!
It's my pleasure! Thanks for checking in :-)
Love this style of music and style of video!
More like this to come! Thx for watching 😊
@@LiamKillen I hope to make similar content one day featuring my favorite local Twin Cities artists!
Fantastic setup*****
Thank u!
This video is really cool.
Thanks!
Very cool, didn't know her, really enjoying her sets on soundcloud atm :)
Awesome!! Thanks for watching + supporting Claire!
One of the most inspired hardware sets I’ve seen on here in a sec
Thx for watching!
These videos are amazing
Please do more, there isn't enough out there on how people play.
more to come :-)
Good stuff
My guy - if you want the online community version of this video check out my Discord :-)

I thought of something really funny. You should have had a scene where you reached into her set and hit some buttons and she slaps your hand. That would have been epic. I liked the alien voice FX when you asked one of your questions that was very funny. Another good informative video from you.
lol
Love this! I’d be interested to see how she packs up these units for transport…. I know that’s a no brainer for some people but not me. I get hung up on that stuff
Yeah she was packed efficiently too but I don’t know the cases she used
Replying again to say, this would be a great addition. It’s not easy to find stuff about how people transport the gear in a way that allows them to setup in under an hour lmao
I would love to see that kind of episode! I am always having to rethink how to pack and transport modular, pedals, amps, and guitars…. Not always all together, but sometimes
I really enjoyed the format of this video. I've always found it slightly weird how far removed the synth scene and the electronic music (and more specifically club) scene seem on TH-cam, so it's nice to see them brought together a bit more here. I also really enjoy the Thomann videos for this reason.
Yeah I’m trying to sort of bridge that gap because for sure, both scenes are very far removed- it’s true!
Love these interview videos man.
I‘d really like you to go a little more in detail how these artists approach mixing live. In my experience the hardest thing apart from transitions in a live set is mixing. How to approach headroom, low-end and how to make everything gel together.
Noted! I’ll bring it up in the session I’m doing today 😊
Great walk through. The microcosm is awesome on midi clock, you’d probably tapped it in but it is better on midi imo
Absolutely it is!!
Nice do more of these
I got someone else coming in today actually 😏
Hell yeah, these are so killer, need more!
although stimming's latest album (elderberry) was mastered post, he did record everything live i believe. his latest video is a magnificent display of dawless. just mentioning it as example of not needing post edit. great episode!
Stimming fkn rips with his DAWLESS set up - so juicy.
Hej, it would be a cool move to feature here in the title as this is the vid of both of you! :)
We made an agreement to make it more about the gear but her info is in the description as mentioned in the video!
I stumbled into a set like this ONCE. I wish more live sets were out in the wild
Doing a lot more videos like this!
5:15 😎 I like his style
🙂
Thank you for this! It's lots of fun to see how folks put together these "small" setups for live performance. Moar please! 😀
Lots more coming!
The Zoom R* series of multitrack recorders are absolutely criminally underrated! They can be midi controlled loop players and they crush for ambient sets. I use two R8s with an SP404MK2 and a digitone sending midi all over the place and I love it
I’m considering picking something like that up
@@LiamKillen an R8 can typically be had around $150 USD and setting up loops is cake
That sounds interesting... can you explain the workflow with SP404 MKII involved ? Tnx
Excellent breakdown, brilliant guest! Thank you!
Re 6:20 -if you have to ask that, you most likely wouldn't understand the answer anyway. (;
Thank you for watching!!
Shout out to Sunshine Jones! He's got some great videos at www.youtube.com/@SunshineJones. I especially like his "Love Letters" series.
Oh awesome!!
I LOVE Sunshine Jones!!!! We are hopefully going to do a gig together in Montreal in the not-too-distant future :) Both live!!!!!
What vacuum was that at the beginning? Would you recommend it? I'm looking for one for my studio and there are so many it's very difficult to tell....
Search opolar air blower on Amazon .
always something different, never self-centered!
It’s good to diversify!
@@LiamKillen I love to see other artists setups and approaches to dawless live sets , thanks for this
Great demo from Claire but wow, can't believe he just went in and touched the gear without asking.
Not sure if this like a sarcastic joke, but either way it’s pretty funny lol
I like her music.
It’s pretty chill right!?
What is the blower thing you used in the beginning?
It’s an opolar air blower! Found it on Amazon
Cool is that an old oktatrak
Indeed it is!
This is how micro house was born
😏
hi Liam! You probably answered that a question a thousand time but what is the model/brand of your vacuum cleaner? :-)
It's the opolar air blower which i'm not even sure exists anymore lol. But if you search opolar on Amazon a bunch of other similar brands pop up.
@@LiamKillen thanks for your time Liam!
Alone...we are smart ... together we are brilliant ! .. cheers ..
🍻
Please leave an affiliate link for that cute air blower 😊
Check out Opolar air blower on Amazon to find similar models :-)
My waldorf always crashes. ;( I got it for it's multi-timbrality, but I just got too frustrated with it.
Oh damn I’m sorry to hear this!
I’ve heard this about the dorfie boys but it seems kind of isolated. Not ideal though….
bit of a mixed bag, multi-timbral mode. if you don't stretch it too far it might work.
the desktop version also seems a little more stable than the keyboard one (I have the former, had the latter)
Dude you need an affiliate link for that little hand Vacuum!! Give us the deets ✌️
lol you’re right- I’m the mean time search opolar air blower on Amazon !
Oi that was a POWER HACK!!!! You have a MACHINE TO DUST !!!!!!!!!🙀😱🐱🤯😳🐱🙀
😏
Minimal House - Maximalist setup
😅
Nice Setup, i think it woud be nice for some progresive Tek or maybe slower psychodelic Minimals Like for example th-cam.com/video/Bh_k29HfM44/w-d-xo.html🔊
And The Stop ! - The silence can be reviving or calming but the sound must Vibe out with the Space & the
write groove or frequence with all the composition and The Groving out or the so called Stop Accent!_
thats a damm really need and sweet trick. for exampleth-cam.com/video/HdJnDqcRgbg/w-d-xo.html🔊
Thanks for this and thx for watching! 😊
Put Claire’s link in the comments please…
It’s in the description- as mentioned in the video
She knows...
🤔
I wish I could get a dollar every single time the word "like" is said during this video. At the end of the episode I would have enough $$$ to buy all Elektron boxes. But the detailed setup breakdown is priceless.
Wow like so rude but like thanks for like watching
@@LiamKillen Like don't be offended, there's like plenty to like like in this like video!
Can any of you play a musical instrument ? That's just effects.
Very rude comment.
Here’s a clip of me on drums though from years ago 😉 th-cam.com/video/3jFkXdsYkGI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DayYA-RSWylzhcQY
Wow…that blew up in your face
@@LiamKillen Nothing blew up in my face, I've been a keyboard player for 58 years played all over this country in the 70s and 80s six nights a week. What is rude is people that play with little sound effects and call themselves musicians
Nah i dont feel it
It ain’t for everyone
dAwLeSs = $8000 in equipment 😂😂
Yup! Or you can just use Ableton + a midi controller 🤷♂️ different approaches
Minimal? Thats 8 machines come on
It’s in terms of the genre- not the set up! 😅
Hahahaha .. minimal... Get 2 Volcas and that's it
That would be so much more limited though lol
FFS. Does anyone remember a time before TH-camrs became beggars?
Anyway... Nice video. Too bad you can't just do it for the love of it.
Please value my time
Thousands and thousands of hours …
Yeah pretty laughable to make minimal house with maximal equipment ($10k)
Oh and yes! No DAW
Pathetic
Dr. Dick - I mean drew
You’re pretty lame bro, its easy to talk shit then to put yourself out there. I thought Claire had great insight on how to do a live set along with some seasoned tips. Remember this is a passion for people and they buy this gear over time ( myself included ). Humble yourself Docta ;)
@liamKillen - hey, if I skip over the sponsorship section, do you not get paid?
No you can skip it if you want lol - it’s the discount link that I make a commission off of 😊
