Good afternoon Captain Tango, I just heard you said something about SimBrief flight planning software/app in the video. Have you used another flight planning software called PFPX? Which one of these two software mentioned in the above is closer or similar to real world’s multi-million dollar airline corporate flight planning software such as Sabre etc..

For flight planning I was a long time user of PFPX before switching to SimBrief, mostly for its ease of use when it comes to integration with other tools I use (not only the JeeHell A320 software you see in this video but also TOPCAT, FS Flight Control, A Pilot's Life, etc.). I can't really comment on how they compare to real-world flight planning software as I am neither a professional dispatcher nor pilot. I think PFPX might have a few additional features when it comes to complex planning (including ETOPS), for example when it comes to in-flight redispatching. This being said SimBrief is still in active development and gets new features added on a regular basis, which is a big benefit.

@@captaintango Thank you so much for this detail information. The reason I asked about this is because I’m currently teaching aircraft dispatcher courses at one of the local college in SoCal area. I want my students to get their first experience with a simulated flight planning software, so once they got their FAA ADX license and hired by heir prospective airline companies, they will have some knowledge of what a real world flight planning software going be like during their OJT.

Very interesting. I have seen presentations from real-world dispatchers at the Flight Sim Expo conference and I wonder if the presenter(s) would be a good resource for you. Here are some links: th-cam.com/video/dEjryXWgWc0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/zQ0s5pomn38/w-d-xo.html. Just an idea.
