Tied up a couple this morning and went to my local rocks. Everyone else was walking away. 2nd cast and was on to a nice Bonito - result speaks for itself. Thanks for the video !
That ez body head dezine Was first used years ago by Jack Gartside .it was made using corsair the first tubing on the market in the 80s . The fly is called the Fish head
Gave this fly pattern a few tries during the autumn fishing off the rocky coast of Northumberland. Certainly is very effective and durable, proving effective for Pollack and smaller Cod. I found that one tied with a touch of orange craft fur gave good results taking better sized fish. Thank you.
Nice fly- first time seeing it. I'll tying a couple of these for when I'm in Florida surf fishing next month in tan/white and olive and white. I have used EZ Body before in other patterns- but I love the simplicity of this.
Jack Gartside developed this fly. It is effective but I migrated away to tie Rhode Island style flies and epoxy style flies. I think I'll migrate back. Thanks
Glad to hear you are giving it a try and thanks for the history! The nice thing about this fly vs. Gartside's is the incorporation of EZ Body. Gartside colored his flies after but using the EZ Body makes it a simpler process.
That is a great idea, I think the craft fur gives this a little more motion in the water but the best thing about fly tying is trying different things out!

Great looking pattern. Like a no epoxy surf candy.
Thanks for sharing.
Craig knows of what he speaks! This looks too easy, a guide fly for sure. No eyes, no resin/epoxy-love it. Can't wait to crank a few out.

Thanks for the instruction in this video, you make it seem so easy I'm sure I can even do it!! Gonna fling this out in various marks around Ireland. 🎣
You can do it! Incredibly versatile fly, let us know how it works for you
The key to a good fly ... simplicity. Will be trying a few of these around the NE coast of the UK. Thanks.
Have fun!

It is a true guide fly, simple and effective!
Great video SWE! I've had success with picky Albies and my most basic flys in the past. I'm looking forward to trowing it this season!
Thanks! I think you are going to find these flies are great for those picky Albies!

Sure going to be making them I got ez body I'm going to see 😎 y'all on the beach
Anyone ever tie these with BT? Of course it won't sink as quickly, but you could bulk it up if you wanted. Thinking peanuts.
