Thanks for watching How to Record Audio & MIDI in Ableton Live 11 (2021)
Very good tutorial, you actually show how things are done. Other videos I had seen from other channels, didn't really show you in detail what to do, they were just rushing through clicking away without explaining what every click was, useless. Tks so much for your much better approach.
A useful tutorial, which has become a very rare thing today. Thanks for not omitting any steps.
Best tutorial I've seen. I love that you explain why in addition to how. I remember things if I understand why.
Bloody hell, your tutorials are always great.. impressive. Was the first channel I used to learn and is still super useful!! good job!
The best introduction to Abelton video I've seen. I know exactly what to do now. Thank you for making things clear, concise and to the point.
Wow...thank you, Andrew, for sharing this. I'm a newbie to this and I have learned how to record much easier than what I have been doing. Once again, thank you...I'll be tuned in to your other vids.💯😎
You're very welcome!
A really helpful overview of all the different ways to record...thanks!
Thank you so much man! You made my first recording so easy. Best tutorial on this subject. Kudos!
Very informative and easy to follow. Just got Ableton and this answered several questions I had. You saved me a lot of time. Thank you!
WOW! I am impressed. I think your video tutorial is the best I have seen for Abe live 11. You have put it in lot of effort to make it simple. I will watch all of your videos. Thank you so much.
Awesome awesome guide. Really gave me some of the answers i needed but couldn't find anywhere else. Thanks :) Pls make some more guides for us. thanks so much :)
Thank you so much. This video really helped me out.
Great Info!I have subscribed!Thanks for the help!✌🏻😁
Thank you so much for this video. Its very useful, however for some reason my audio recording is not showing up the way your is. What could be the problem? Please advise if you can.
thank you, helped a lot to remember ;)
great lesson cheers
A suggestion for your future tutorials. Your display DPI is so low that the Ableton user interface is very (tiny) difficult to read it's so tiny. Luckily it's available in 1080p resolution, which makes it just readable. Wouldn't it be a good idea to temporarily increase your systems display DPI so that people can clearly see what you are doing in Ableton's user interface . Just saying.
Other than this , appreciate the effort. I will move on to a different tutorial that is easier to see. Thanks m'8 .
Exactly. But sadly enough every tutorial is like this. It's so frustrating. I really don't understand the positive reviews.
Super helpful for a new user like me. Thank you!
thank you this was helpful
Great tutorial and great delivery..
Omg THANK YOU!! Subscribed!!
I have a behringer uphoria and ableton 11 set up in mono - 1 on one audio track and 2 on another audio track. When I play, only the information from channel one is input into both channels 1 and 2. Do you have any tips on why this might be happening? TIA
Great video!
Wow, thank you!!! Subscribed!
Hi, I am also using RME. Mine is Fireface and I am completely confused about routing on totalmix to get audio track working on Ableton. If you have a moment, I would highly appreciate your advice.
I am able ti get my MIDI going through but not my microphone which is plugged into Fireface.
Thanks
nice input!
12:01 how did you pull that piano thing up ... i cant get mine to do that
Can i Record from an Standalone Plugin (VCV Rack) in Ableton and so create a audio File?
Thanks for helping me and sorry for my Bad Englisch
Anyone know what causes audio to leak from one track to another? When I click the monitor button on the volume level spikes and a high pitch sound is made.
Can the latency be better than that? I’m considering Ableton because of M4L, but I don’t want two DAWs. Currently using Logic/MOTU 828es, and there is no noticeable latency, so I can monitor my input. If Ableton is as bad in your monitoring segment, I wouldn’t consider it usable.
Good vid
Yeah let’s record 🤙
Love your vids! thanks a lot !
I have this problem, I can hear the audio I’m recording from the interface going in, but can’t hear anything when playing back what I have recorded. I have in put and out put set to the 2nd channel since that’s what’s andicating a sound going in.
wow thank you senpai !
A million thanks 😊
but what if i want to record what i play on my keyboard ? why do these DAWs need to make what used to be so simple in analogue format so hard in digital... i just want to record what the noises are as they come out then use Ableton to edit and fix it down to a proper sound and have that be the final sound
What if I don't want to use comping/the take lanes? Is there an option for me to disable this feature?
you saved my first steps!
Very useful to me..its so clear, thank you very much :-)
Great video 🙌🏼
Thank you, teacher!
tnx bro
Super Simple Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm just trying to record my band live. But when I make the tracks. Instead of each instrument recording on its own track. Everything records over all five. I have my inputs set up to mino and I select which one I want in the little box. I don't know what im doing wrong.
Hi! How do I turn on lane recording?
Fantastic! I had a few doubts and they're clear.
my voice didn't double and i the same setup as you and all of the settings are correct... what do i do?
my track lane does not show up, and i can't check my record after the first loop :(. any help?
thank you
When you record a loop like you did, how do you get the multiple lanes setting? When I record a loop, it records over the original.
You can manually insert a take lane into one or multiple selected tracks, via the Insert Take Lane entry in the Create menu or a track/take lane header’s right-click(Win) / CTRL-click(Mac) context menu, or using the Shift-ALT-T keyboard shortcut. Inserting a take lane will also immediately show all take lanes, if they were not already visible.
I have my guitar hooked up to my interface and the interface is hooked up to ableton but idk how to select the interface as an audio input. I clicked everything in the input type buy I still can't find it
It only pics up the mic on my laptop
Any reason why my recording is not doing the the take LANES ? it just keeps recording over my initial take
Can you or anyone in the comments help me understand why each time I record, I keep hearing this pulsating sound in the playback. I have set up the input and output and everything is perfectly set up, I have even tried just recording without using the headphones but I keep getting a skipping, pulsating sound in between each word or sound I make. I checked the sound and audio settings in my control panel but everything comes up ok. Can someone please help me figure this out because I really want to start recording my songs in ableton but can't due to this issue.
Can I record mainstage into Ableton?
How to record multitrack audio?
how do you stop audio from doubling when recording?
There's a way to listen what is being overdubbed?
I am not sure why on Ableton Live 11 Lite, it won't record like you said. I had to move the mouse to the top left of the timeline, have the mouse pointer become a speaker, and click once, and now the line will move, and I can record and the waveform will show. Otherwise, no waveform and nothing recording... I am not sure why, and is it a bug. (I just saw it in this video: th-cam.com/video/Z850F4YXYgI/w-d-xo.html I was doing how she did it -- have to "play it" to record). I got to say, DAW software can be like from a different planet... Logic Pro was easy to record... Ableton is just pretty weird in design... it is like git in programming... like a low level plumbing tool
How did you put that midi into arrangement view? Click and what?
Click & grab it with left mouse button, click Tab and put it into Midi track
i know this guy.. he is a good egg
I tried everything and my mic is still buffering and chopping can anyone help?
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Tell me why I didn’t realize he had dreads until the end of the video
these comments look super botted
@Impressionistic-qz5fy me? a robot?? j'accuse!!
Why MIDI doesn't have LANES!?????????????????
Wasnt helpfull pls just get to the point
This didn’t help me. Nice try.
This was frustrating to watch!!! I listen to you say ".. just click and hold, drag and drop it into the arrangement view..." Here are the problems with that 1) First of all, you don't say whether or right click, left click, press control and click, press command and click or press option and click. 2) In your audio, we can clearly hear you press a button which switches your screen from Session View to Arrangement view, yet you don't mention what you did to do that. => So we're clicking and dragging while having no ideal how you switched over to Arrangement view ultimately making this step impossible to complete for anyone who doesn't already know how to do that. (I found out after a Google search that you have to press the TAB button to switch views and that was the unexplained click we hear in your audio.) Somehow you got 42 people to all say how (wonderful) your video is and none of them bothered to mention that???? Everyone who watches this very early learning stage video just happens to know to use the TAB button to switch views? WTF???? Thanks for being yet another source of frustration.
Sounds like you were frustrated before finding my video, don't take it out on me mate I'm doing the best I can on TH-cam for free. Always room to improve of course, but maybe take a step back and chill.
When I refer to clicking, it's a left click, when I am referring to a right click, I call it such.
My other videos, like my 15minute Ableton intro goes over tab being the hotkey - usually people who come to this video have already done basic intro videos.
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic Right! So instead of editing it or making a note of the error, you decide to go after "me" personally. What a joke! Yes, there has been tons of folks on TH-cam who can "do" far better than they can "teach", so past frustrations matters not. You made the error - I pointed it out. Next.
@@badlemonmusic7712 I'm entitled to respond to your comment and call it how I see it. I admit there's always room for improving my content, but you're definitely a bad lemon haha. Your attitude won't get you far, so reflect upon that and goodluck for your music production future.
Thank you. I was getting pretty frustrated.
@@CollectiveIntelligenceMusic You were super calm and thoughtful in your response. I think Bad Lemon is just looking for someone to direct their anger toward, keep up the amazing work. We appreciate you.
I cant get my focusrite scarlette 2i2 working with ableton, the audio is working and coming through my amp but ableton doesn't pick it up??? can anyone help?
o and im using a macbook
go to preferences and see if you can switch around the audio drivers and if it doesnt recognize or still doesnt play close and try a different combination of input output settings again in preferences.
Make sure your drivers are up to date. I had that issue. And then set the driver on your audio in preferences
