Good video, these little details about how to unfasten something when working on a car are always helpful. Good to see that removing the black rubber cover the surrounds the whole thing is not necessary. The amount of space available to change the low beam on this car is actually much better than on other cars I've owned.
Linlin Miao yea, it’s annoying because you have to disassemble air intake, but worth it, the whole job takes like 15 minutes and mechanics would charge around $60 just to change the bulb
are you supposed to make the bulb snap into place or it just sits on it like a spring? cause at first my bulb started to smoke, but the second time i turned on the light nothing happened.
thank you! by chance do you know how to change the ignitor for the xenon headlamps.. I change the bulb and it still didn't work. the dealer told me to buy an ignitor which i found on ebay and a new bulb for about $160, would have been $700 + $150 labor at the dealership.. what a rip off! but how do I install this? Thanks for the tips..
Well, yea, that is quite easy - ONCE YOU CAN GET TO IT. There's some big thing covered that is blocking access to it though on the drivers side light. How do you dismantle or remove THAT so you can get to the bulb unit?
@@realone2917 the fault was still present... but then I started the engine and the fault disappeared! Have replaced my car a 02' BMW E46 with a 94' BMW E36 =D sweeeet!!!
Remember...as the demonstration shows DO NOT touch the bulb with your bare fingers or get any kind of contaminants on the glass. BUT if you do...... clean it with a cotton ball and alcohol. Grease from your fingers will cause uneven heating of the glass and it will crack.
@@svetjezly8165 i fixed it! I Turned the light Clockwise to "unlock" it. Instead of holding the thing around the light, i held the small 2 black things sticking out. It went much smoother! So try that
Of course this guy has a cold air intake...why bother keeping the precision engineered airbox when you can slap a shit cone hot air filter in there instead?!
Wrong on the rotation directions. From the perspective of the rear of the assembly, off is counterclockwise, on is clockwise, just like you would expect.

let there be light... and there was light ! took 2 minutes and 15 seconds to get the job done on my 1.8i . Saved £15. FANTASTIC VIDEO .TX SHAI
:))
Very helpful. Thank you! However, it appears that the housing comes out counter clockwise and goes back in clockwise.
+Mike Jones You're correct. I almost broke the damn thing turning it clockwise as hard i could! >:-(
LOL It's always been lefty loosy and righty tighty! Don't know why he said to loosen by turning clockwise, should be counter-clockwise.
Perfect, exactly what I needed, clear, and short. Nice accompanying track!
Thank you for saving like 35$ for someone to put it in it work on a 323i as well
Thanks for that! Was dreading the job after having a Citroen!
Took me a bit to put it back in but got it done, thanks!
Worked like a charm on my 528i. Thanks for the video!
you're most welcome
Shai,
When you reinstall the unit you tighten by turning the levers clockwise, not counter-clockwise as stated in your otherwise nice video.
Thanks. Saved a trip to my mechanics :)

you should push the bulb's pins into their place in the socket in the right direction. hope I helped..
Video becomes surprisingly funky at 1:00.
Did clocks run in a different direction before the days of COVID.....cause that wasn't "clockwise" my friend.
Omg thank you I saved me tons of $$ 😘

Do you need to disconnect the battery?
yeah why don't you check the tire pressure while you're at it

I can't even see the back of the bulb on my car.
It's covered by something that I don't know what it is.
glad to help
Wow. That's it? Haha thank you for this video

Buy osram night breaker, it will look nice and wash your engine sometimes.

Why don't you upgrade to hids mate they are alot beter brighter and last 5 times more than halogen lights
Why you don't post how to change a bulb at your home
I will, thanks!

Thank you.
Can't put it back in. It won't twist. HELP!!

Nothing like a plasma torch can't get at.
You forgot to show how to get the black cover off of the part behind the bulb housing...
this is like my volvo used to be
yeah except bmw isn't gay
How about BMW E46 1998 year?
318i
exactly the same
Would have given a thumbs up, had it not been for the loud obnoxious music.
Thanks!!!!!!
thats counter-clockwise bub

Horrible music, good video
Jiří Gracík what's wrong with the track? it's very good.
