Man thanks so much so for this! I use the cigarette lighter for my phone and havnt been able to listen to music In my car a month. I just took the 20 Amp fuse from 45 ( which is for a rear wiper that I dont have).

I have an '99 E46 323i I recently bought and the key controls don't work, the key has battery and so does the car. I have tried reprogramming the key using methods online but no success. Could you help me, maybe even make a video for others, to suggest fixes such as GM5 modules, antenna issues are some of the things I've come across online but not well described. BTW congrats on the new shop.

Can you do a more through video on hidden fuses which are hard to get to such as the infamous fuse F101 behind the fuse box and just overall different fuses around the car like the ones in the engine bay.
Yes, Thinking about buying a 94 bmw 530i touring. Seller says they sometimes smell sulfur when driving, I assume the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. Aiso, there mechanic said it has a electrical problem; System overcharging alternator. I assume start by replacing fuse box. Please let my know your opinions on fixing each problem. Thanks kindly.

Thank you for the education; just learning how to read the fuse chart. I have a question. My cousin and I discovered that fuse #28 in my car has 15 amps. Apparently it originally came that way. However, the chart says there should be 5 amps there. Although the 15 amp has been there for as long as I have owned the car since 2001. My cousin thinks I should replace it with a 5. Please provide your thoughts on this issue. I just want to make sure I do everything possible to continue maintaining the car. Look forward to hearing from you soon. My car is a 2000 323is e46. hey bud i bought a new battery for my e46 amd accidently installed it backwards positive to neg amd neg to pos. it sparked like crazy amd when i realized it was backwards i flipped the battery around. now car starts but battery light comes on.. any ideas
Hello shop life if ur engine control fuse in ur glove box gets blown what does that cause ? Does it make ur car not start? It's a 7.5 fuse mine is blown and the car does not start
Do you need to disconnect the negative battery terminal (or both terminals?) when pulling and replacing bmw fuses?

There are some fuses behind and above the panel you are showing. It would be great if you could show them as well. In particular fuse 101 - the engine cooling fan for 1999 to 2000 e46.

Good video. I replaced the battery on my 2002 bmw 325i. Although the car starts right up, I noticed the turn signals don't work, windshield washers don't work and windows don't roll up or down. Any suggestions?. Chewbaca Guil. . 17 seconds ago. . . .

So my soft top has stopped working! i mean its completely dead with no lights showing on the open/close buttons! Great video's. My question is why would my E46 Trans fuse keep blowing? I started up my car & ity went into limp mode, seems stuck in 4th gear? I found the trans fuse blown, replaced it and no difference, rechecked new fuse & it wads blown too? Any idea's? Thanks

I tried changing the right fuses for the instrument cluster and fuses were good but still no lights. I tried to remove the battery connection but no lights in the instrument cluster except for the ABS showing up. What do think is messed up? Any idea or suggestions..please!

Dude, I have the problem that my instrument cluster is going crazy, it first happened 2 months ago with a light indicator on right headlight, but my headlight still good but sometimes it's blinking, then a month later my cluster going worse, when the gauge engine at the middle (engine running for a while) my cluster start showing the gearbox light, but I feel that my shifting is good, and at the clock instruments going so messy. and now when I run the car and engine is on that temperature, my cluster show battery indicator and finally, my cluster is dead.
And then i watch so much video that most of them suggest to DC the battery and I done it, when I instal the battery again everything is normal until I drive the car and the gauge on the engine heat reach the middle, the battery light comes again and then my instrument cluster is totally dead, but I still can start the engine without any light come on the cluster,
I've check battery voltage when engine not running and it's 13V and when the engine running it's 14V and it doesn't drop even I turn on the headlight, music, and AC (can't do cold blow)
My car still can do a crank and start but I was so scared driving without any lights on the cluster. Anyone, please help me :(

Hey man so I want to buy a BMW e46 zip and it has already had the coolant system revamp but I don't know how long ago. How long do these coolant revamps last for? The car has 130k

Usually the cooling system starts to fail between 60-100k. At 130 you're probably good for a while but it's better to ask the owner when it was done or check the service book. Even when I diy I write it in the book and the mileage :)
Niamh Healy awesome thanks and btw it is a 2004 zhp coupe will full service history, new bushings, control arms, then some there small things. What would you guess that I would need to put aside for one year of ownership(how much cash)? Thanks btw for responding so quick u just gain ONE more sub haha

Haha I only have a few videos of my Son so sorry to disappoint lol. It sounds like your Beemer was well looked after. I usually budget about 1k per year for maintenance. You can go a year without anything needing to be fixed but then the next you might have a pipe here and a sensor there and it adds up. It helps to keep on top of it and if one pipe goes, the others similar to it will be on the way out too so best to do them while you're in there if you get me? Basically, preventative maintenance is best. Try to DIY as much as you can. They're really great cars to work on. Most of all have fun and drive her :)

Hi can you help ? My 2005 E46 soft top does not open! I mean no power at all , even when i press the soft top open button there is no light whatsoever! The last time this was working was this time last year and since then i have installed Angel Eyes which i tinkered with the ECU for days to find the ignition wire!.(could this be the cause)?
I have checked the x5 relevant fuses with a multimeter for continuity (whilst removed) and they all have power whilst inserted. So what do you think i should be next on the check list thanks
Why do I have constantly replace the ac/ heater fuse?
Assuming that this is not a replaced system (in order to eliminate the variable of a wrong part (part that does not comply with the original design specification)) you are most likely to have a corroded cable that is "shorting" to ground when its heats up. Check you cooling fans and compressor and the associated wiring. This is the explanation - Remember, cabling heats up once current is flowing, which happens once your A/C is ON, but the amount of current flowing will depend on the current demand of the circuit it is servicing. Current (electrical current, I mean) demand will depend on the actual environmental condition inside your car. That is, your car is hot inside, you turn the A/C on, then, your system will crank up trying to achieve the temperature set-point. So, the compressor will be drawing its highest current demand to achieve it, and the fans will be at their highest speed. The wiring of these two components (compressor and fans) are the most likely to fail. Good chance your fan is faulty. Give it a try. Sorry; I tried to be brief but this is a fairly complex system and there is not a simple explanation.
Quick question to anyone here: I have to replace the windshield washer fuse. I ASSUME the horizontal fuses are the spares, but nowhere does it say so. Are they?
