  • The Denver Nuggets have an interesting season ahead of them, full of compelling storylines. Can Nikola Jokic win his 4th MVP? Will Russell Westbrook bring a leadership that the team needs? And how will Christian Braun fit in the starting lineup?
    Adam Mares shares his thoughts on all of that and more on the Locked On Nuggets podcast.

    I suddenly have the feeling that Westbrook wasn't only acquired because of Jokic suggesting it and Westbrook's on the court skills and experience, but will also be utilized as a kind of on-the court mentor for the young players development. I feel like they're sort of tasking him with two things here that are related, but entirely unique from each other in their job description. Unexpectedly, I can see this working to an extent. I imagine Peyton Watson and Strawther will pick up useful things from him. I think Westbrook is playing a roll in the optimization of their younger talent. It's not accidental and not only because of Jokic. I feel optimistic that it might help us more than I have been thinking. I'm speculating, but that idea popped up while Adam was talking about Russ.

      Did you hear any young players from the clippers and lakers saying they learnt from Russ? All you need to look at is the mavs clippers playoff series when Russ shoved Doncic. NONE of the 4 clippers teammates on the court were standing up to protect Russ. They all let the mavs players pushed Russ without stepping in.
      That says it all on his teammates’ real perception on Russ.

      @@boriskan6453while I am a bit more on the side that Russ will not be a mentor-type, I think the situation in Denver opens up the possibility. When Russ was brought into the Lakers, he was thrown under the bus pretty quickly. Thus there wasn’t a chance for relationships to be developed. For the Clippers, he was brought in with the intention of being a bench player and kind of had to stay out of the way. In this case, he’s being brought in understanding the different roll, but with support from the top in Jokic. Additionally, he already has a relationship with Watson, from my understanding.

      He'd try to run them out of the building, we had no defense, but it was fun to watch. I'd actually been thinking the same thing. We can utilize that strategy to help compensate for the loss of some perimeter shooting. That style of play also generates more open shots along the perimeter.

    Nicely described what Jamal will look like from month to month.-Quote-Worst month October with 16 ppg, second worst November with 17ppg..third less worst December, and best worst January""-good adjective used by Adam worst :).
    I watched the Hopps collective podcast with Windhorst, Tim MacMahon and Tim Bontemps in its last episode. Anyone who wanted a real analysis of Denver will get it from these guys. All that they said at the press conference after the series with Minnesota Malone, Calvin, and Kroenke Jr., especially Kroenke with the fact that money is not a problem. After that, Calvin makes a statement that Braun can start instead of KCP. Malone is the least bit at fault in all of this and I think he's wondering what on earth Calvin is doing. As they said in Hoops Collective, they still have Jokic, obviously the best player in the world, which is confirmed by his games at the Olympic, everything else makes no sense, especially with Jamal, who has been terrible since the playoffs and through the Olympics, and will he sign that contract in the end. We can hope that Russ and Saric fit in as well as possible, as well as that Watson, Julian raise their game to a very high level.

    Joker showed enough his anger in the last game against the Wolves, that Murray and MPJr didn't realized it was their last chance.
    I'm not very confident in fact and I don't think that they will react and no more sure that they have the level for now..😢😢
    Lot of Hope on Westbrook, in the game and to help the recrues to grow up in the best conditions, like he did with Shaï, and perrhaps to recrop MPJr too.
    But one question remains unanswered: what state will Aaron be after his tragic ordeal ?

    Man i honestly don’t get why everyone is so low on russ man. He chose to go to the bench with the clippers, & pretty clearly changed to his game to be a pretty contributing player to a team. He’s really started applying more energy & focus on defense, & i think that defensive playmaking combined with Peyton watson off thr bench will be very bruce brown Esq. As will his rebounding but i he’s a better rebounder then bruce. He’s still a good to great playmaker, & though scoring at the rim has definitely become more difficult for him , he’s still VERY effective at getting into the lane & to the rim for a dump off pass or kick out. Honestly if Zeke gets minutes russ could help him out there ( granted, zeke would have to screen really well). Regardless, russ still has many things he can contribute on a nba starter level when he’s given minutes that make use of his energy properly , im talking like 22-25 minutes a game.

    Jamal is far from an all star he can have out of 6 games 2 terrible games 2 average and 2 all star lvl games ..and he will miss 20 games in regular season that is Jamal M experience (reality)

    The main advantage of KCP vs CB is spacing. KCP haven't shot a lot and the reason for that is teams didn't want him to shot, because he was deadly. If CB gets to that level, he would be as useful as KCP on offence. On defense they are on par, with different qualities.

    • @MikeMike-qb6oy
      @MikeMike-qb6oy 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'd say if CB can get to that level he'd be much more dangerous than KCP was, given his cutting and finishing at the rim and how well that fits with Jokic. KCP ended up sitting in the corner waiting for the ball a lot.

      @@rainofkhandaq6678 This is what I tell everyone, KCP is desperate in the play off with 8 ppg, in only three games out of 12 he made free throws, in nine he did not attempt a single one. The two point shot is even more devastating, he was in double figures in 4 out of 12 games, Edwards ran him over until Braun took over and did a phenomenal job on Edwards.
