Solamente Una Vez (Remastered)

"Solamente Una Vez" (Only Once, as a direct translation), was composed by Mexican songwriter Agustín Lara in 1941. Although it is still perceived as a romantic song, it was actually dedicated to the Mexican tenor singer José Mojica who decided to abandon his artistic career to become a Franciscan monk. The song’s message, therefore is that when you entrust your soul to God you love only once (solamente una vez). The English version, “You Belong to My Heart”, is a romantic song with no direct relation to its original lyrics.
