What Glad is missing is the effect on labor. This is part of what the writers’ strike is about. All “ai” does is reconfigure old ideas that have been fed to it. What the studios want is to pump out generic crap with ai…and then pay writers and actors to flesh it out… problem is they want to pay them for a couple hours of editing work rather than acknowledging that they *made* the project. Imagine you had AI write a Biggie verse and then Biggie touches it up. The question isn’t whether it’s ethical…or even if the song is good. The question is if Biggie should be paid in full like he wrote the song, get royalties etc… or whether he should be paid a few hundred bucks for two hours work and the studio should get all the credit and all the profits.
mannnn work for hire is just that, work for hire. dont accept a job if you dont agree with the terms and conditions. just go find work elsewhere. the studios are the ones paying for your services, whoever is footing the bill has the right to decide how they want to spend their money

I don’t think you get that either. 3rd, and most importantly: they’re not trying to replace them…they’re trying to OWN them. They want to pay actors to come in and read a few lines so that they can capture their likeness to then use unlimited times with AI to make unlimited projects. But they only want to pay them once to read the lines and then have free labor forever. Pure exploitation. What you don’t get is that there’s NOTHING in it for the writers and actors. Ok, they can find other work, but why on the way out would they give away their name and likeness [and dignity] for a humiliatingly small amount of money? Nobody else out there is either talented enough, nor desperate enough to do it. Frankly, it borders on violating the 13th amendment. You really have no idea what’s involved here.

This is a really dope dialogue and both of his brothers are right. artificial intelligence is a tool used to make you better in the same sense to Aries point is you still need to have the idea for the creativeness to grow.
From what I understand AI just spits out what has already been put into it. So someone writes it, AI just rearranges it using algorithms to make it make sense/ seem like a person wrote it. This is like in the 60s people expected Lost in Space to Happen by 1997. In the 80s/90s people expected Skynet to take over soon. And Back to the Future 2 was supposed to happen by 2015. Seem like we never know how these things might go. lol.
@@D12345 AI more or less gives basic concepts/premises culled from multiple ideas that have been put out already. Essentially, it's a hack writer telling the same cliched stories over and over again and as you said rearranging a few details and character archetypes lol. Thing is, since it's a machine you don't have to pay it to achieve what a lot of human hacks already do. What the industry will probably start doing is having the machines pump out scripts and then just have humans there for proofreading at a fraction of the cost. Same with rappers and hip hop producers, they're looking to replace them with AI characters over the same types of repetitive beats. Hell, they've already dumbed many of the masses down to the point that they don't care about lyrics anyway, it's not exactly some huge change-up.....
That's mostly what I am saying. The only thing though I'm guessing people will get tired more quickly, especially if there is a good amount of AI infrastructure, as it'll be harder to pivot if the audience starts to get tired of the formula. We're looking at Marvel/Disney etc. And audiences will complain and in this new internet age, cooperations are allergic to complaints. Especially if they know it is a machine doing it. And that'll get politics involved (even more than now etc.). Not saying it won't happen completely but I'm guessing these will be some turbulent times until/if the industry starts to implement it. ??? But who knows. Skynet. @@dawb86

Vlad is really up in here equating the advent of electricity and plumbing with replacing human creativity. AI doesn't even create it. It examines everything it can scan and develops an approximation of it. So any songs or scripts it writes will be amalgamations of what it can already find. And both people with no creative bone in their body AND creatives too lazy to struggle through the creative process will be leaning on that. And you thought the charts all sounded the same now. AI can be great as a tool for complex tasks, but it's a terrible idea for everything else.

As a graphic designer I asked my CEO the exact same thing will AI take over our work. His reply was yes. So I asked him how sure is he, he said he is sure but I doubt it. AI will still need human input AI will still need commands to complete the creative process. I believe that AI might make life easier in the next 10 to 20 years but not completely do our jobs.
You could have Ai to do the prompts for other ai to do the actual work and have other ai to do editing/looking for errors 😅

I’ll give you one example of how AI will destroy industries. Right now, Sony has a growing monopoly when it comes to the Anime Industry. An Industry KNOWN to underpay and overwork their staffs. Let’s say the employees get together and protest for fair wages and less working hours. Sony could just hire a couple guys to help create AI to do all their jobs. Write the plot, the dialogue, draw the panels, color them, animate, direct.
Thousands of human careers gone and now struggling to put food on the table.
