- Hello TH-camrs! Heading into the flat water season now with my first side by side regatta since Australia in January! Looking forward to getting out there and getting some good racing in. For today I managed the last longer piece before the racing itself. Weather was nice and the water was flat but I think it might be a little different at the weekend! I kept in the full 1000m piece and showed of the split times as I don not believe I have done that before in any video! I hope you enjoy!

Truth is you are as ready as you can be and you'll dig deeper with competitors around. Give it to it, you can do it!
Yes indeed!
Godspeed at the Met! Put some Yam on it
Loved that bit of 360 in the middle 👍
Dorney was horrid today gusts up to 36! Good luck tomorrow. (I know you won’t struggle)
Looking smoooooth!
Paid off at Met!
I put the vid on 2x speed for the 1k, and got hypnotized and passed out!
love watching and feeling being there
... Godspeed happy travels and rowing!!
Go get ‘em, Cam!
Nice smooth 1k piece. Hope the race goes well.
I think I would have a panick attack pushing off from there
You get used to it!
good luck at Met Cam!
Good luck!
Ur literally like lighting ur so fast 😮
Good luck
Huge congrats on the double win!
Thanks Mark! Videos coming soon
Great win today at Met - congrats Cam 👏
I second that! Can't wait for the video.
Really interesting to see your thoughts on splits and rates that suit you when training plus see your splits from a 1K piece as we’re so used to over the years seeing you erg numbers but great to see what is happening on a very still piece of water, little stream and breeze (a far cry from some of the recent coastal conditions 😆).
Again - hope the results go well at the MET and the HRR opportunity arises again (should be an interesting regatta this year at Henley with Mr Ziedler focused on Paris) 😎
Yeah the water splits are so variable but still interesting to show! Not really sure why I haven’t before!
Fingers crossed for met! I have heard that Oli is doing Henley this year!
He’s going to be on full Yam after loosing to the Flying Dutchman last weekend 🙄
Have you used an inpeller before? Interested in hearing your thoughts on that
@@skude3 impeller now a bit old school as moderate stroke coach or even a Garmin Fenix watch will show you all the data you need on and off the water post training
wow u really gave that 1k some beans 💨
Loving the new shades, they are soo fast :) go get them tomorrow!
👀 hopefully be working with them soon!!
wow, i can't believe how narrow that channel is that you row. But i guess u get used to it and where everything is along with course.
Where are you rowing there?
What do call that red thing that counts stroke in boat. Can you provide link snd other infir if that stroke meter
It’s an NK speedcoach. If you’re in the UK can get them from Oarsport 💪
genuine question...not a dig or a comment...but if keeping the blade feathered practically to the catch ( as you do here ) helps with balance ( as it surely does ) then why do I keep getting told to square over my knees ( which just makes the whole exercise harder as my square blades repeatedly clip off the water as I come to the catch and don't seem to aid balance in any way ) ?
Because it’s a que and you likely don’t have a quick catch/row it in or something else.
But tbh you should ask your coach, it’s a good question
Squaring over knees seems a bit early but squaring earlier than I do,maybe by the feet, generally means that you’re set up for the catch and increases likelihood of getting it right.
Both fair answers thanks...I'll ask this tomorrow !!
How much would a speed coach set you back?
They’re getting pretty expensive! Around £500 I think now
Are you going to Henley
Let’s see how Met goes!
@@CameronBuchan god speed
Nice prep piece! An observation; your blade depth on that piece was pretty deep. You may be able to gain a little speed with less oar shaft in the water, less likely for a bad stroke if the conditions are rough, too. Good luck at the regatta, you'll definitely have fun!
what is that thing you use to monitor your splits called. my quad is thinking of getting one for our cox
Speedcoach GPS Nielsen-Kellerman
NK speed coach, if you’re in uk oarsport sell them
@@CameronBuchan thanks in the uk so will buy
A proper speed coach was a bit pricey for me. At my level a garmin watch is plenty accurate enough for splits, distance, total time and stroke rate. It is plus or minus 50m over 25km.
@@CameronBuchan should i buy the 200 or the 400
Promise me that you will get 1 place cause I’ve been watching for a long time so you should do it for me ( jabir ibrahimi ) and you also have a wonderful physical power and tall 😊😊

LOL "inverted commas"
instead of "air quotes"
... 5 syllables over 2...
is there a reason or
just a britishism?
