a great video idea would be a series of videos modding popular gaming boards like the corsair k70, razer blackwidow, logitech boards and many more, i actually modded a blackwidow 2014 with kailh box whites and modded pcb and stabs and it sounds insane for looking like a board straight out of 2015
i think it would sound better without the foam in the keycap as it will make it less muted but keeping the keys that require the stabilisers should work fine with it as it gives it a richer acoustic sound

i've used lotion + these steps on a logitech k400+ and now i can work in silence, i mean the keys are a bit harder to push but it's worth it, especially for the spacebar, rightshift and the enter key.

I'm being entirely serious, will cooking grease, or olive oil, or grease from greasy food work, or bike chain lube work? because I don't think my parents will let me buy real lubricant or buy more lube just for a keyboard. pls respond
The problem with the grease used on bicycles is that they are petroleum based, meaning they will over time ruin the plastic keycaps of the keyboard. If possible, you might want to get a silicone based lubricant for your keyboard (any will be fine so long as it is silicone based). You can perhaps just say it's a type of bicycle grease or something to convince your parents
Nice vid man! I've been stuck with a crappy membrane keybored for about a year now and just like yours, the big keys sound terrible, but I'll try and use your modding and hopefully it'll sound as good as yours did
@Shifty Keys it did (and yeah the rattle is real bad) I've actually never modded a keybored before so if I get round to it and find some nerf darts the I will try and pop them in the big keys and hope that it'll do the trick
Greasing the wires is the part that should reduce the rattle, the foam reduces the hollowness of the keys - try various things and see which sounds best for you :)
@@eaxsylikesmayo I’ve linked my recommended one in the description but pretty much any dielectric grease will do - just double check it doesn’t react with plastic or metal :)
