Just a little flight rule, when you spin the plane around you should always turn towards the captain's side :) and that little thing on the ground you where wondering what was, that is for ferry's to "park" so cars can get on. I know they are a little over sized in fsx... Great video though. Fun to see a flight over my home country :D
Aircraft always seem to turn towards the FO side where I'm from, maybe that rule only applies where you are locally?
John Dennis hm, yes maybie. my instructer at least says so. But offcourse, if you are taxing on a taxiway you turn with the taxiway, But every time i spin the aircraft around on the runway (or any other place for that matter i shuld always turn to the captain side. And at 10:14 in the video you can see that there is a little outwourds point at the FO side of the runway. you can also find them at TNCM (st. martin) there you turn the aircraft in, and then spin the aircraft around to the captain. Just saying :D
Bollocks! Who tought you that? That isn't a flight rule. Maybe a tradition for whatever reason where you come from (though not even there, when it's Norway, as it can be easily seen in the video below). You turn it always the way you can make certain that the turn will be a safe one. That's the only rule, if at all. Safety. Not captain's seat wise or any nonsens like this. When I'm CM2 and piloting and can't see shit at the CM1's side I turn it to the right as well. Period. That's the turn rule. The pilot in command decides. Watch how a real pilot turns a plane at Sandane... and then compare it with Matt's turn. Any similarities? Exactly.

Nice video! :) What you saw is a ferry crossing. There so many of them because of all the fjords. Some places in Norway the lights go out into the water, but that looked a bit too far.

Matt for your next hardest approach I would recommend KSAN San Diego cause they only use one runway for landing and taking off which is 27 and the approaches goes through the city

I think it was a ferry dock. You should land at aspen Colorado KASE. It's recognized as one of the most dangerous approaches in the United States.

you should try SBSP(Sao Paulo) to SBRJ (Rio de Janeiro) in Brazil, SBRJ has a really short rwy for 737 or A319 (A320 can't land there because the rwy is too short) and the normal procedure is a visual approach pattern or a RNAV.

Actually didn't think you were going to stop in time lol. You should try the RNAV 02R Y approach into SBRJ (Santos Dumont) in Rio. Fun approach that requires some precision.

FSX takes some of the challenge away as it does not have contoured runways. In real life this runway is quite a severe hump-back, so much so that you cannot see one end of the runway from the other.

You could try EKVG - Vagar in the Faroe Islands. It's a challenging approach.
it isn't rly that challenging approach as it is mostly straight in from both sides

In norway the only planes that land on the short fields are the KIng Air(ambulanceplane) and the Widerøes dash 8-100 and dash 8 q200. The 300 and 400 needs to much runway to be able to safely land and take off. So the landing here was not legit.

Hi!, just a question do you use ezdok camera for the shaky head, but how can you move your head around like that.. when i try to move the head with the joystick stick (using a yoke system saitek) it try to move, but ezdok force it to stay blocked... sorry for bad english... hope you or the others can help me! btw good video!
You need to hold down the mouse wheel and move the mouse to move the camera like this.

Matt, do you ever consider flying a lager aircraft in future videos? I know its unrealistic to just jump into lager aircraft. I'm thinking about aircraft such as boeing 747/ airbus a380 and the 787 and things similar to that.

Cool! But wouldn't you break the aircraft with that touchdown? It seemed very steep :o
It's more about your airspeed, then the decent angle. You can have a steep decent angle with a low airspeed and be fine. If you have a steep decent angle with a very high airspeed, then things on the airplane will start breaking.
At 400 FPM? No... if it were 800-1000 FPM, I could see where you'd say that...

I've got an idea for #10 worlds hardest approaches, land at Paro Airport in Bhutan, use the Q400 or PMDG 737NGX
the airport is surrounded by mountains, it will be hard to land there, I wanna see you land there.

Nah abacus, their 787 is WAAAAAY better than the Qualitywings one and I also have the Wilco 737, just looks so much better than pmdgs so called 737.

What is decision altitude?
The altitude where you decide if you continue or abort landing. If you don't have the runway in sight, you have to abort.

Flexy we'll, IT happens for me too, i have calibrated and other stuff
It may have to do with the direction that the engines rotate. Try to trim it out or just use autopilot
