now that is totally awesome video about junkyard school busses and can anyone buy a school bus there just asking my friend .. can't wait to see more school busses junkyard videos and can you take your time do a videos on the junkyard school busses please and thank you
Thanks for this. I actually drove a 45 foot bus for a few years till I retired. I drove mining crews to the various mining operations in Northern Nevada.
Interesting. Great way to store buses to be used for parts. Brings back memories of bus rides to school. My bus driver's nick name was "Sugar Bear," a really nice guy. Good memories. Thank you!
The buses appear to be mostly Internationals with Thomas bodies. Most of the parts are probably interchangeable. The buses are retired when they reach a certain age or mileage. Then the old buses are used for parts. The seat cushions are probably all tipped up so that they won't collect rainwater.
This is in Louisiana. I can't remember the name off the top of my head.. but there was a worker there who told me they sell parts and restore buses etc
6:50 That hole in the floor is fuel tank access (covered by a metal plate). Some of these buses look much too good of shape to be there!! 8:10 vintage LAIDLAW (grew up riding their buses) clean up kit.
Crazy how the schools couldn't find uses for these or the parts, they just throw away our tax dollars. Really cool place, nice mix of buses. Ahh the memories of sitting over the rear wheel well. Lol I went to school before they had cameras on buses. Be epic low drone footage. Thank you to the owner for allowing us to see this cool place.
I have two buses in my school bus that have been thrown into a junkyard. Bus #8 - Type: Thomas MVP ER (Build Year: Unknown) - Reason: Bad Engine probably. - Twin Buses: Bus #7, Bus #9. Bus #23 - Type: Thomas MVP ER (Build Year: 1997 or higher) - Reason: At the point where the bus could no longer be fixed. - Twin Buses: Bus #22.
I'm also a school bus on enthusiast I'm very knowledgeable about that stuff and the reason why I'm becoming a school bus drivers because it's my dream and my friend who was like a father to me died from cancer in 2018 so I'm doing this for him he gave me his bus number that he promised me when he died and my boss wants to contract his route for me
@@tonyjr1325 Glad you found this video i posted. You're welcome to correct me, as I know nothing bout them. Follow your dream my friend. Carry his legacy on, he will be proud of you!
Its a shame you didn't post the contact info for this place. Finding school bus specific parts can be a challenge. Also, you keep calling them "abandoned" which means no one claims ownership of them. I highly doubt that is the case.
I think the reason i said abandoned bc that's the first thing that came to my mind plus the way most of them looked. For the address, I honestly don't remember. I should have asked the employee if they were selling parts.
Hello! School bus enthusiast/historian/collector here. I just stumbled on this video. Very cool place and very cool video! It looks like a lot of buses from the 1990s up until about 2008 or so. I saw buses that appeared to originally be from Alabama, Maryland, one that seemed to be from Georgia, and the rest I assume were native to Louisiana. To my understanding, Louisiana has some of the most relaxed state specifications for their buses because of a high amount of personally owned/operated buses in business for the schools in the state, so it is fairly common to see buses from pretty much anywhere being used in Louisiana.
Let me know what you think of this? Please be safe out there guys!
PS: There will be a 360 video of this out in the future.
Very cool location,,now that's exploring
Go for it those 360 cams add a whole other dynamic to videos
@@RogueExploration I"ll have it out in 2 or 3 weeks. I got 2 other videos planned out atm

Thank you Bobby!

Thank ya
I miss seeing these on the road
Good ol days!
These are all late model buses. I had hoped for some older stuff but they must all be long gone by now.
THAT'S TOO CLOSE
Wow
Now that's a lot of abandoned buses!
too many!
It's not a true school bus junkyard unless there's a super ancient International Loadstar or GMC bus with weeds and trees growing around it.
now that is totally awesome video about junkyard school busses and can anyone buy a school bus there just asking my friend .. can't wait to see more school busses junkyard videos and can you take your time do a videos on the junkyard school busses please and thank you

@@DeadlyKnot thank you
How long those buses sit until they go into the wrecker's yard?
I"m not really sure to be honest. I should have asked the owner before i left.
@@DeadlyKnot I think they let them sit till either private owners or other businesses buy thems, or they wait till more room opens in wrecking yards.
