Definitely not easy, but that’s good ! I’ve had some really bad flights, not proud of them at all. At least for me, main thing is keep up the speed. If it goes < 100 knots you’re about getting into real trouble, hard to recover from. I used slow down too early + too low, bad combination 🙈 These days, 30° and 40° flaps close to touch down :)
Well yes, I do that too, keep bhp around 65 for final approach, and control speed by flap. But sometimes you're coming in too shallow, and had no choice but to increase power to avoid a stall. But then I only go to around 100-150, until I am back in the glide slope.
@@macbrush Keep it at ~100 on final. Use flaps to control final approach. See PMDG's video "using flaps to control the approach" or something like that. I could not figure out how to land the plane at 70 bhp as their first approach video demonstrated, only when following the training manuals was I able to land with that method. I have had no trouble since using the second method.
@@d4rks1gm39 I always use PMDG's method. They key is get to proper speed before final, because it'll be very hard to slow the plane down once you start to descend.
I have set up my throttle for the appropriate engines but they don't since. As soon as I try to adjust them they go out of since. It's my first attempt so I must be setting the throttles up wrong also the GPS will not follow the flight plan.
I'm suggesting watching PMDG TH-cam tutorials, pay close attention configuring DC-6 for approach. There's no need revving engines up and down like a yo-yo, in fact, it's not good practice.
It’s tough…need to level off about 15 miles out, and reduce power to 100 BMEP/2400RPM. Once it gets below 174kts you can add 20 degrees of flaps which should allow you to fly level at 140kts. When you need to start descending on your actual approach, put out your gear and 30 degrees flaps. Then use Flaps 30, 40, or 50 as needed to get the desired descent rate. Ideally power stays at 100BMEP all the way down to the flare…probably have to ease back on throttle as you descend since the air gets thicker 😅
The tutorial is ok, but it sounds like you're in a speedtalking contest and definitely is winning. So slow down your talking and you will be much easier to understand.

According to the PMDG tutorials, you don't fly this with power for altitude. You don't change power until touchdown.
Didn't he ask the flight engineer for descent?
@@samuel.d9059 Flight engineer sets everything, but you have control over power.

Great video per usual! Do you have a C310R GTN 750 ILS tutorial?

Thank you... I didn't want to be the one to say it.
Hi are we getting more old Planes at MSFS that would be cool if we got more old ones
I can't slow this sob down
