Hopefully this gives more attention to Red Dead and people realize how badly its being neglected. We had an Undead Nightmare story DLC come out the same year as the first Red Dead Redemption but 3 years later on we have nothing of the sort in Red Dead Redemption 2. Kids these days don't realize Rockstar used to bring out good story DLCs like the episodes from Liberty City, LA Noire DLC cases and Undead Nightmare. It has been 2 years since Red Dead Online had a good DLC with Moonshiners. I am starting to lose hope with Rockstar. I hope Red Dead can recover but they are putting so little effort into it and it feels insulting to the Red Dead community, when an 8 year old game is now being rereleased again on ps5 with huge updates and a 3 year old new game is getting screwed.
Seriously though, there needs to be a full-length documentary on the problems with GTA 5 / Online and how Rockstar / Take-Two has screwed over their player base over the years
16:26 speaking of the casinos theres already a casino boat with a full interior you rob in story mod, that you can even glitch onto in online. They already have assets to have a casino/casino heist.
@d R And they all load in the game for no reason, so when you are waiting in a 3 minute loading screen, remember things like the FIB, IAA, main characters house, and dozens of other interiors are loading and you can't even use them
Believe it or not but Rockstar used to take all kinds of advice.. Back when GTA 4 online was the only GTA online there was, I literally ran into a guy who said he was a Rockstar Employee I said "Yea right" and he said "You just killed me,go look at your achievements" I looked and couldn't believe my eyes, I had unlocked the achievement "Let sleeping Rockstars lie" (Back before this achievement was handed out to everyone for some reason) I had killed a Rockstar Dev, he then asked me "What would you like to see in GTA 5?" I told him, gun attachments like silencers, grips, stock upgrades ect..There were many more things that ALL ended up in GTA V It feels like mass money changed the company completely....I now HATE GTA Online because its 100% responsible for killing Story modes aswell as completely delaying GTA 6....Now its starting to slowly kill Rockstar and its the biggest tragedy in video game history Imo.

Why GTA V don't have that promised single player DLC, well not only rockstar but people are also be to blame here. I ran a poll couple of months ago on my channel where I asked what did you enjoy most GTA online or GTA storymode and 77% people voted online. I was surprised by this number. To be clear I am not at all defending rockstar here but the players who actually understand single player experience are in miniority now in my opinion and that's sad.
It's a misnomer. Of course people enjoy online more, it has way more content. Single player fans moved on and the majority of current players only play online because who wouldn't? The SP hadn't had anything new in a decade basically. When the game came out online was boring and not really a prospect for the buyers at that time. Yet the basically SP-only game sold like no game has ever before. But they basically pulled a Google. They let a liked and useful feature/service cripple to the point where people can't use it anymore and then say "we removed it because noone is using it" yeah because you broke it's legs and arms and wondered why it couldn't run a marathon anymore.
@@chaosmagican Well the content of GTA online is also a matter of debate itself, I mean flying bikes, cars which are shooting missiles...All this crazy stuff looks out of place in that game...Storymode might not have content but it maintains it's integrity.

The reason why online is more popular is because it is updated. If GTA 5 released a DLC for single play, like, oh yesterday? Then that poll would change. People vote on polls more on impulse and popularity. Online content is 78% higher than single player (cars, guns, upgrades, properties, ect.)
@@SD1ONE you clearly don't enjoy singleplayer games. Look at God of war, spiderman, assassins creed, far cry, the evil within, resident evil, tomb raider, uncharted. These are all games known for their singleplayer and are very successful franchises and sell a lot of copies. I enjoy playing the older gta games like 4, vice city and San Andreas 1000 times more then I do playing gta online, and I am just like the professional. I have everything in the game, have plenty of money, and completed and grinded everything there is to do and I'm bored of the game.

I've just started playing no man's sky about 2 months ago, and its refreshing that there's an update every few weeks that players actually like, it just shows that the devs listen to their community and actually put in effort and aren't driven by greed

I've been playing since it was launched (kinda-a few weeks off) and it's always brought me back, especially after the atlas update. even without the constant updates hello games makes, I'd still probably keep coming back, because there's ust so much to do. It's even better with friends btw. going around, racing to find new things in a system nobody's ever seen before. there's almost nothing like it.
Some years ago, the tactic of being secret with every project and just hype their fans with little clues was really good and intriguing. With today's Rockstar, it's just annoying because our expectations are low and we need answers about their products, it's not a good hype, is a terrible way to keep people's interest in something that may be mediocre or bad

Dude I went back to IV. Forgot how weak GTA is now compared to back then. It's frustrating to mod V and then R* updates the game for some bullshit reason like "fixed npc wearing incorrect glasses". Then having to go back and wait fro scripthookv to get updated and then remodding the game is tedious. The only thing I did for IV was use the radio downgrader to get the songs that were taken off because of the licenses.

The thing is, the idea on paper sounds great. Put out a good game that feels complete, and then add content for free, that add more enjoyment to it. It sounds excellent…until companies realized they can just use such a concept to excuse putting out a half baked, empty, and bug ridden product and use such updates as glorified patches to make it the game it should’ve been from launch 🗿. Or in Rockstar’s case, an excuse to make everything with said updates so expensive and grindy to get, that you cough up the doe to skip all the boring shit to get stuff.
While everything here is true...as long as gamers pay for shitty treatment, that’s what they’ll get. Trust me, if 75% of players refused to spend another dime, they’d do something about it.

I am not even excited for gta 6, I have forgotten it about, very rarely do new games impress me. More and more i see myself playing more with my ps2 and ps3, and the sadest thing is my library of games on ps2 is way larger then the one on ps4, theres just not a lot of interesting and engaging games nowadays. RDO online is treated the same way as it was done to GTA 4's online mode, playing in Liberty City with friends would be interesting, if they'd even looked at it, instead of improving it and its bugs, they just got enough of it and removed from the re-patched version of GTA 4: The Complete Edition in Steam for PC. Like a newbie fan of GTA 4 like me just can't play it with friends at a same time in PC. Initially, I didn't even knew that GTA 4 too got an online mode and thought GTA (5) Online is the only online mode in Grand Theft Auto franchise. Where the company needed to keep it alive, they are just backstabbing the GTA franchise. The golden eras of running a car through the alleys of LC, VC, LS, LV and SF and causing destruction with some attractive and soul touching stories, are just... gone!
I feel like Beta GTA Online would be much more fun.. like Gang Turfs, Cops and Robbers stuff without compromising of every day log in stuff, kinda like gta iv mp
@@khamelion7189 True, it would be better than just flying Oppressor MK-2 to hunt someone, or to get hunted by it. Grinding missions repeatedly is just boring and annoying. At least they could give us the side missions from the older GTAs like from Vice City and San Andreas. GTA RP does it better. I still remember when I first played GTA III and VC, its still nostalgic for me and they were just awesome, then I discovered SA then IV and V, I was always amazed with Rockstar's every release, like how could they add all these stuffs and their every game was very much better than the previous one and they had that value that even after the next game, they could not be forgotten. But after GTA Online, it all changed. Like, it's not GTAO is worst, it was very good at its release, but instead of giving something that actually make us stick to the game, side missions, giving us an update what happened to single player characters (an update on GTA V's or IV's story), they just spoiled out our experience.
This feels like an unwinnable battle to get rockstar to give a shit. Those of us who give a shit and ask for quality over quantity will essentially be ignored because the majority being children don’t care and will continue to buy the shitly made products produced by rockstar because you can do anything when you lack any sense of integrity.
I grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s. Even the trash shovelware games i use to play on an old Windows PC and PS2 had all their features. Problem is nowadays publishers know if they can trick a few people into being nickel and dimed they will keep doing it until nobody gives them money.

One think the GTA V community doesn't get is that even of rockstar were to introduce a cool update like cops and robbers, the actual enjoyment of the update would be hidden behind so many paywalls and dumb cutscenes/setups it may not even be worth it.

They'd hype up the cops and robbers dlc then the day it drops you find out you have to buy a police station (cheapest at $1M), a garage, only to find out you need to buy each police vehicle separately and basically the only way to catch/survive and encounter with robbers is to upgrade the vehicles you just bought. Early PS2 to Late PS3 era was truly the best time to be a gamer. Games were mostly story driven and feature complete at launch and online modes offered were just pure fun with no stupid BS attached to it.
IMHO the best time to be a gamer actually is right now. Indie dev's are knocking it out of the park. Hades, Risk Of Rain 2, Factorio, Darkest Dungeon, Ori, Terraria, The Ascent, Backbone, Hollow Knight, Bridge of Spirits, Curse of the Dead Gods, Valheim etc... all single player games without any pre-order bonuses, Gold/Silver/Deluxe editions, MT's or lootbox BS. AAA games are basically just cash shops with some gameplay plastered over the top. Full priced games with greedy gachta mobile mechanics. (turning players in to payers) Blizzard, EA, Activision, 2K, Gearbox, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Sony, Square, Bethesda, Warner Bros, Konami and many more. These companies cram as many microtransactions into as many games as they possibly can. Many have turned beloved franchises into watered down mobile experiences full of predatory practices and GREED. [edit] Supergiant Games, Klei Entertainment, Devolver Digital, 11 bit studios, Hello Games, Playdead, thatgamecompany, Chucklefish, Edmund McMillen, Lucas Pope, Subset Games, Unknown Worlds. Now these ARE companies/devs you should be keeping an eye on at all times. No scummy practices, just GAMES.

It's nice to actually see someone coming out, on such a large platform, and saying it like it is. I love both games. I have loved both of these games for years now. But Rockstar has just gotten progressively more and more lazy with their games and even more deaf to their comments and suggestions left by fans and actual players. Rockstar has always had these problems in their games. If it wasn't toxicity from other players, lack of consistently good content, or just the average drip-feed.. it was a lack of consumer base awareness. The people who say "you are just mad" or "lol let people play what they want" just deflect from the side of the fanbase they AREN'T on. It's okay to not agree. Hell, it's okay not to CARE. But actively proclaiming to the heaven's that the ones asking and critiquing Rockstar are just simply mad about one or the other is bad. BOTH games deserve equal treatment and fair grounds to succeed. If you honestly think that, a very fair amount of people mind you, aren't playing BOTH? Then you obviously don't know about the broader fanbase beyond your limited view. One small comment about the flying cars and such. The reason one can assume Trevor, Michael, and Franklin don't use them is because Online is set AFTER the main story. Even several years later at certain points (Agent 17 makes mention that it's 2017 at one point). So it could have been a couple years before any of these vehicles even showed up in San Andreas. It's not hard to assume that to be the case. Doesn't excuse the jumping of the shark it does in terms of logic, but it does explain it a bit. From story modes perspective.. we never SEE these devices or vehicles. Thus we can assume they never encountered them. That or it all just happened post story. Who knows? Rockstar sure should know. Awesome video with awesome points. The Read Dead community, just the GTA Online one, deserves BETTER for their time and money. Not just radio silence and a fanbase wishing to cannibalize itself over biased views on either or game.

Funny thing about Rockstar constantly updating GTA Online, is that because of these massive and countless updates, they bring too much pressure and weight on the almost 10 year old game engine, causing the AI to act weird and appear out of nowhere right in front of you, thus the reason why cars swerve right into you whenever you turn a street corner. They're basically slowly destroying their own overglorified product

It's like having a cheap low quality potato PC and expecting it to run a high demanding game like RDR2 on it just because you have enough space on your hard drive.

Rockstar has created a few of my favorite games of all time & when rdr 1 released they were my favorite developer. Fast forward 10 years and they’re the embodiment of everything I detest about the modern video game industry
The solution is easy: STOP PAYING THEM YOUR MONEY! ! ! There was the "Golden age" of games before 2010's mainly singleplayer with additional multiplayer games were made. After that era the new era came along called Microtransaction games where Micro (small) is only the content they gave you and where prices for them are Macro (big). Rockstar saw this comming and with bunch of other companies like EA they wanted to make a money milking profiled online platform where they can make unreal amount of $$$. This new industry began little by little with offering new content to already a fixed single and multiplayer games for a "little" amount of money. They were experimenting with this before the year 2010 around 2006 to be more precize and most game studios cought up with this few years after. At first they would offer content for a couple of bucks but more smaller content they would offer more and more prices were getting higher. The main factor here was "enslaving the gamers" short said the content became addictive to players. To skip this historical downfall of good gaming era and looking how it looks nowdays it's sad for gamers. Singleplayer games are more or less dead not meaning they don't exist but not so many developers put their soul into the games anymore and to maintain them. Nowdays you purely see only Multiplayer games with hugely overpriced little content. The sadest part is people fell into addiction because of these monsters wearing peoples masks and it looks the future of gaming doesn't seem to be brighter either. . . Wish you all a nice day :-)
Everyone who cares about the stories stopped paying for it a long time ago, the problem is our money doesn't matter anymore because they found a new consumer base who will. We literally can't do anything anymore except sit back and watch the franchises we loved leave us behind and complain about it. You say stop paying them your money but what do you think people who want more story content or more varied content have been buying? Nothing, because like I said we aren't the ones paying them anymore.

Ya know that silly GTA V radio ad that talks about "the cloud?" Rockstar's online experiences remind me of that... "You like games? well look, we have it online now! GTA was great and ahead of its time because of Dan Houser and his team now that Houser is not the Creative Director for GTA and most of his team doesn't work on GTA(as far as I know)you should expect it to get way worse
There are a lot of parallels between Rockstar and WWE right now. Coincidentally, Take 2 makes the WWE games, which have been awful. For a number of years, the WWE has ignored what fans actually want, haven't followed through on promises, and betrayed the fan's trust by ruining a storyline. They're controlled by Fox, USA, and the Saudi government. They make decisions based on what these companies and governments want and the fans end up getting a worse product. On the other hand, they have a new company nipping at their heels that actually puts on a fun show, listens to fans, and the wrestlers are all jumping ship to join. AEW is a threat to WWE, but instead of putting on a better show, WWE throws their weight around to try and stifle AEW's success. I gave up on WWE, the same way I stopped playing GTA V in 2017. The Cunning Stunts DLC was the last update I really enjoyed. By that point, prices of assets were skyrocketing, they were making you buy multiple properties for new content without allowing you to sell off your old businesses that you weren't using anymore, and the game was losing the interest of myself and my friends. By 2017, my interest shifted to Rocket League, which I still play regularly. I got GTA V last year when it was free on the Epic store but didn't play for long. I spent more time getting money drops from modders than I did playing the game because you basically had to pull a 9-5 to be able to afford anything. And then came back again for a short period when the Tuners DLC came out. Other than that, it's a dead game. It's been dead for years. For some reason, people keep buying shark cards and giving Rockstar a reason to pump more resources into the game.

I deleted red dead about 7 months ago, haven't looked back! The only way I would play online again is if it's completely redone, imo it's just a boring grind fest, story mode is far far better
Yeah I played rdo for 5 hours and the story mode was so good i don't wanna play it again bc it won't be the same as the first time. Gta online is your only option with Rockstar games, and it's riddled with hackers and stupid grinding
When I hopped on Red Dead Online on day 1, it astounded me how little content it had, even compared to GTA Online's launch. There were no heists (an absolute no brainer) and there wasn't anything there. This caused the player base to drop significantly almost instantly, so why would Rockstar support an online for a game they are making no money from? Their biggest mistake was crafting Red Dead Online around microtransactions rather than crafting it around fun, which is what GTA Online was crafted around before Rockstar realized they could make a lot of money from it. They forgot how to create an online that's fun and feature filled first, before worrying about the microtransactions. I'm honestly shocked they haven't dropped update support for Red Dead Online completely. They really dropped the ball with the launch of Red Dead Online, and there's not much luck reviving it after the fact
This is an interesting topic. The answer is really simple when you break it down. 1. Return on investment, online content generates more revenue per dollar spent in development. 2. Lack of quality staff. The gaming industry has become so toxic to work in that many AAA publishers rely on outsourcing and younger less experienced developers because a lot of the more experienced developers don’t want to deal with their shit.
Im guessing the reason why Red Dead Online isn’t getting the same amount of effort is that it’d be more profitable to just work on GTA Online, since it already has a bigger and more loyal playerbase. It’s not about making the players happy, that takes effort

I stopped playing Red Dead online 7 months ago. This online mode has so much potential and it is not even time-consuming to export things from the single player and make something new out of it, but they still don't do it, instead it bugs and has nothing but a seaon pass that you can have ready in 3 days, you can't even spend your money on useful things

Fun story: my oldest son was born on September 17th 2013. GTA V was released 2 days later on September 19th. He is now 8 years old. I can literaly see GTA V aging right in front of me 😂 That and at that time I was still kind of a kid living at my mon's house, I now have 3 kids, a full time well paying job and close to buy a house... wtf you doing Rockstar?

You don't need an excuse to have sponsorships with the quality you're putting out. I'd be okay with seeing a NordVPN or SkillShare sponsor segment in the future, because it's a good trade for your high quality. It's the TH-camrs who don't put a lot of effort in their videos and milk their sponsors so frequently are the problem.
Honestly I heavily agree with this video. Rockstar needs to talk to the player base, it needs to add things that make the game interesting. It needs to stop adding ridiculous hover cars and overpowered hover bikes. It has to keep up, or its gonna get left in the dust when somebody else does their job but better.
When games as service is the business model, they "must" keep the game update with contents to expand the lifespan. I'm kinda mad on Rockstar, when the game that are this old like GTAO, still can't do much of the freedom, not to mention how they deal with money glitches vs. how they deal with cheaters.
I fk hate this. Games should be completed from the moment they are released. Only add patches for bugs, or payed story expansions which are a different thing.

I've said it for years, Rockstar may make good single player but when it comes to online they are worse than EA. Game breaking bugs radio silence. Bugs where you can make money fixed overnight. They are there they just don't care about it unless it hurts card purchases. Sadly as long as GTA is kicking RDO will be the ginger step child. The reason why is the crap they pulled in the early days with the extremely high prices and literally dollars payouts. I know people who still won't play because of that. I love RDO but man it just gets discouraging to play after awhile knowing its potential but Rockstar just doesn't do anything with it. Honestly with how they handled it they really turn me off of their future games. If I buy it to play with friends is it going to be another RDO? With the RDO survival they nerfed the payouts btw. So now they aren't really worth it. The one cool thing they add they kill it. Color me surprised.

But regardless of Grand Theft Auto VI, I won't bother with that game nor will I bother with the release of the Definitive editions of GTA3, VC, or SA. I'm simply done being let down by this company with the lack of communication, status's of new GTA Releases, and also the greed and laziness. The sooner current gen is no longer given any new updates the better for me.

I'll be jumping for joy the day that R*'s echo chamber pops and when it does, and it will come. That it will outright destroy the company under the avalanche of unheard neglected consumers or R* as a company says enough of these horrible bs business practices and turns over a new leaf entirely for its players. R* holds one of the biggest active player bases in gaming history. Their negligence will come to bite them if it's mistreated and they've been boiling that pot over for a while now.
On top of the many issues explored in this video, another thing pops up. In GTA Online, the missions never update. Why can't we get a mission to derail a train for our weapons in Cayo? Why can't we steal new update vehicles for Import Export? They only release new missions but never update them. They don't actually expand the world of GTA. Whatever mission you play is Whatever the time was the day it released. By updating older missions, You expand the gta world and make it legitimately cannon that it evolves with the time, Rather then only sticking the current time to freemode and the brand new content.

Hey R* I've got some info for you, I pre-bought GTA V for PC this was 60€, until then I haven't spent a single penny on your games. On Ubisoft games: I've bought The Crew, The Crew 2, Watch Dogs 2, and all of their respective DLC's, that's over twice €. On EA games: I've bought Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed 2015, Need for Speed Payback, Need for Speed Heat, and as always, every DLC, I don't even know how much money is that. Now put 2+2 together and think why I've done this, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I have however bought the crew, the crew 2, watchdogs 1,2 and 3. Assassin creed odyssey, Valhalla. I’m also a massive fan of need for speed franchise, I used to play underground 2 on the ps2. The only recent ones I purchased were like heat, most wanted and payback. I’ve also bought other EA games like fifa 18, 20, and will be buying 22 as well. I’m not doing this to boycott rockstar games just all the other games I mentioned also looked good to me. I don’t see the point spending money on micro transactions when I can just use glitchs and make millions in no time. I agree that rockstar has gotten lazy and don’t really care about consumer but rather all that matters to them is filling there fat pockets for minimal effort.
And they WONDER why RDO didn't make the money they wanted. I played it SOO much, I kept waiting for those story missions that NEVER came! If they had fully fleshed that out WITH robberies, heists, and QOL stuff, it could've been incredible and it would've made them a TON of cash.

Hopefully this gives more attention to Red Dead and people realize how badly its being neglected. We had an Undead Nightmare story DLC come out the same year as the first Red Dead Redemption but 3 years later on we have nothing of the sort in Red Dead Redemption 2. Kids these days don't realize Rockstar used to bring out good story DLCs like the episodes from Liberty City, LA Noire DLC cases and Undead Nightmare. It has been 2 years since Red Dead Online had a good DLC with Moonshiners. I am starting to lose hope with Rockstar. I hope Red Dead can recover but they are putting so little effort into it and it feels insulting to the Red Dead community, when an 8 year old game is now being rereleased again on ps5 with huge updates and a 3 year old new game is getting screwed.

Back when GTA 4 online was the only GTA online there was, I literally ran into a guy who said he was a Rockstar Employee
I said "Yea right" and he said "You just killed me,go look at your achievements" I looked and couldn't believe my eyes, I had unlocked the achievement "Let sleeping Rockstars lie" (Back before this achievement was handed out to everyone for some reason)
I had killed a Rockstar Dev, he then asked me "What would you like to see in GTA 5?"
I told him, gun attachments like silencers, grips, stock upgrades ect..There were many more things that ALL ended up in GTA V
It feels like mass money changed the company completely....I now HATE GTA Online because its 100% responsible for killing Story modes aswell as completely delaying GTA 6....Now its starting to slowly kill Rockstar and its the biggest tragedy in video game history Imo.

Why GTA V don't have that promised single player DLC, well not only rockstar but people are also be to blame here. I ran a poll couple of months ago on my channel where I asked what did you enjoy most GTA online or GTA storymode and 77% people voted online. I was surprised by this number. To be clear I am not at all defending rockstar here but the players who actually understand single player experience are in miniority now in my opinion and that's sad.
It's a misnomer. Of course people enjoy online more, it has way more content. Single player fans moved on and the majority of current players only play online because who wouldn't? The SP hadn't had anything new in a decade basically.
When the game came out online was boring and not really a prospect for the buyers at that time. Yet the basically SP-only game sold like no game has ever before. But they basically pulled a Google. They let a liked and useful feature/service cripple to the point where people can't use it anymore and then say "we removed it because noone is using it" yeah because you broke it's legs and arms and wondered why it couldn't run a marathon anymore.

@@SD1ONE you clearly don't enjoy singleplayer games. Look at God of war, spiderman, assassins creed, far cry, the evil within, resident evil, tomb raider, uncharted. These are all games known for their singleplayer and are very successful franchises and sell a lot of copies. I enjoy playing the older gta games like 4, vice city and San Andreas 1000 times more then I do playing gta online, and I am just like the professional. I have everything in the game, have plenty of money, and completed and grinded everything there is to do and I'm bored of the game.
No man sky’s team is the definition of good development through the storm. As a long time player of no man sky from day one, and seeing what they’ve become now, they blow minds, Without MTA. All there updates are free, for things that EA and Rockstar put behind a pay wall
I've just started playing no man's sky about 2 months ago, and its refreshing that there's an update every few weeks that players actually like, it just shows that the devs listen to their community and actually put in effort and aren't driven by greed

Dude I went back to IV. Forgot how weak GTA is now compared to back then. It's frustrating to mod V and then R* updates the game for some bullshit reason like "fixed npc wearing incorrect glasses". Then having to go back and wait fro scripthookv to get updated and then remodding the game is tedious. The only thing I did for IV was use the radio downgrader to get the songs that were taken off because of the licenses.

The thing is, the idea on paper sounds great. Put out a good game that feels complete, and then add content for free, that add more enjoyment to it. It sounds excellent…until companies realized they can just use such a concept to excuse putting out a half baked, empty, and bug ridden product and use such updates as glorified patches to make it the game it should’ve been from launch 🗿. Or in Rockstar’s case, an excuse to make everything with said updates so expensive and grindy to get, that you cough up the doe to skip all the boring shit to get stuff.
While everything here is true...as long as gamers pay for shitty treatment, that’s what they’ll get. Trust me, if 75% of players refused to spend another dime, they’d do something about it.

I am not even excited for gta 6, I have forgotten it about, very rarely do new games impress me. More and more i see myself playing more with my ps2 and ps3, and the sadest thing is my library of games on ps2 is way larger then the one on ps4, theres just not a lot of interesting and engaging games nowadays. RDO online is treated the same way as it was done to GTA 4's online mode, playing in Liberty City with friends would be interesting, if they'd even looked at it, instead of improving it and its bugs, they just got enough of it and removed from the re-patched version of GTA 4: The Complete Edition in Steam for PC. Like a newbie fan of GTA 4 like me just can't play it with friends at a same time in PC. Initially, I didn't even knew that GTA 4 too got an online mode and thought GTA (5) Online is the only online mode in Grand Theft Auto franchise. Where the company needed to keep it alive, they are just backstabbing the GTA franchise. The golden eras of running a car through the alleys of LC, VC, LS, LV and SF and causing destruction with some attractive and soul touching stories, are just... gone!
Along with RDR1 MP, it's still much better than GTAO and RDO.

@@khamelion7189 True, it would be better than just flying Oppressor MK-2 to hunt someone, or to get hunted by it. Grinding missions repeatedly is just boring and annoying. At least they could give us the side missions from the older GTAs like from Vice City and San Andreas. GTA RP does it better. I still remember when I first played GTA III and VC, its still nostalgic for me and they were just awesome, then I discovered SA then IV and V, I was always amazed with Rockstar's every release, like how could they add all these stuffs and their every game was very much better than the previous one and they had that value that even after the next game, they could not be forgotten. But after GTA Online, it all changed. Like, it's not GTAO is worst, it was very good at its release, but instead of giving something that actually make us stick to the game, side missions, giving us an update what happened to single player characters (an update on GTA V's or IV's story), they just spoiled out our experience.
This feels like an unwinnable battle to get rockstar to give a shit. Those of us who give a shit and ask for quality over quantity will essentially be ignored because the majority being children don’t care and will continue to buy the shitly made products produced by rockstar because you can do anything when you lack any sense of integrity.
It's both ironic and sad that the future main audience for GTA will be just kids

One think the GTA V community doesn't get is that even of rockstar were to introduce a cool update like cops and robbers, the actual enjoyment of the update would be hidden behind so many paywalls and dumb cutscenes/setups it may not even be worth it.

They'd hype up the cops and robbers dlc then the day it drops you find out you have to buy a police station (cheapest at $1M), a garage, only to find out you need to buy each police vehicle separately and basically the only way to catch/survive and encounter with robbers is to upgrade the vehicles you just bought.

I miss the Time when we got so many brillant games back than now we barley see.
Early PS2 to Late PS3 era was truly the best time to be a gamer. Games were mostly story driven and feature complete at launch and online modes offered were just pure fun with no stupid BS attached to it.
IMHO the best time to be a gamer actually is right now. Indie dev's are knocking it out of the park. Hades, Risk Of Rain 2, Factorio, Darkest Dungeon, Ori, Terraria, The Ascent, Backbone, Hollow Knight, Bridge of Spirits, Curse of the Dead Gods, Valheim etc... all single player games without any pre-order bonuses, Gold/Silver/Deluxe editions, MT's or lootbox BS. AAA games are basically just cash shops with some gameplay plastered over the top. Full priced games with greedy gachta mobile mechanics. (turning players in to payers)
Blizzard, EA, Activision, 2K, Gearbox, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Sony, Square, Bethesda, Warner Bros, Konami and many more. These companies cram as many microtransactions into as many games as they possibly can. Many have turned beloved franchises into watered down mobile experiences full of predatory practices and GREED.

It's nice to actually see someone coming out, on such a large platform, and saying it like it is. I love both games. I have loved both of these games for years now. But Rockstar has just gotten progressively more and more lazy with their games and even more deaf to their comments and suggestions left by fans and actual players.
Rockstar has always had these problems in their games. If it wasn't toxicity from other players, lack of consistently good content, or just the average drip-feed.. it was a lack of consumer base awareness. The people who say "you are just mad" or "lol let people play what they want" just deflect from the side of the fanbase they AREN'T on. It's okay to not agree. Hell, it's okay not to CARE. But actively proclaiming to the heaven's that the ones asking and critiquing Rockstar are just simply mad about one or the other is bad. BOTH games deserve equal treatment and fair grounds to succeed. If you honestly think that, a very fair amount of people mind you, aren't playing BOTH? Then you obviously don't know about the broader fanbase beyond your limited view.
One small comment about the flying cars and such. The reason one can assume Trevor, Michael, and Franklin don't use them is because Online is set AFTER the main story. Even several years later at certain points (Agent 17 makes mention that it's 2017 at one point). So it could have been a couple years before any of these vehicles even showed up in San Andreas. It's not hard to assume that to be the case. Doesn't excuse the jumping of the shark it does in terms of logic, but it does explain it a bit. From story modes perspective.. we never SEE these devices or vehicles. Thus we can assume they never encountered them. That or it all just happened post story. Who knows? Rockstar sure should know.

Funny thing about Rockstar constantly updating GTA Online, is that because of these massive and countless updates, they bring too much pressure and weight on the almost 10 year old game engine, causing the AI to act weird and appear out of nowhere right in front of you, thus the reason why cars swerve right into you whenever you turn a street corner.

It's like having a cheap low quality potato PC and expecting it to run a high demanding game like RDR2 on it just because you have enough space on your hard drive.

There was the "Golden age" of games before 2010's mainly singleplayer with additional multiplayer games were made. After that era the new era came along called Microtransaction games where Micro (small) is only the content they gave you and where prices for them are Macro (big). Rockstar saw this comming and with bunch of other companies like EA they wanted to make a money milking profiled online platform where they can make unreal amount of $$$. This new industry began little by little with offering new content to already a fixed single and multiplayer games for a "little" amount of money. They were experimenting with this before the year 2010 around 2006 to be more precize and most game studios cought up with this few years after. At first they would offer content for a couple of bucks but more smaller content they would offer more and more prices were getting higher. The main factor here was "enslaving the gamers" short said the content became addictive to players. To skip this historical downfall of good gaming era and looking how it looks nowdays it's sad for gamers. Singleplayer games are more or less dead not meaning they don't exist but not so many developers put their soul into the games anymore and to maintain them. Nowdays you purely see only Multiplayer games with hugely overpriced little content. The sadest part is people fell into addiction because of these monsters wearing peoples masks and it looks the future of gaming doesn't seem to be brighter either. . . Wish you all a nice day :-)
Everyone who cares about the stories stopped paying for it a long time ago, the problem is our money doesn't matter anymore because they found a new consumer base who will. We literally can't do anything anymore except sit back and watch the franchises we loved leave us behind and complain about it. There are a lot of parallels between Rockstar and WWE right now. Coincidentally, Take 2 makes the WWE games, which have been awful.
For a number of years, the WWE has ignored what fans actually want, haven't followed through on promises, and betrayed the fan's trust by ruining a storyline. They're controlled by Fox, USA, and the Saudi government. They make decisions based on what these companies and governments want and the fans end up getting a worse product.
On the other hand, they have a new company nipping at their heels that actually puts on a fun show, listens to fans, and the wrestlers are all jumping ship to join. AEW is a threat to WWE, but instead of putting on a better show, WWE throws their weight around to try and stifle AEW's success. I gave up on WWE, the same way I stopped playing GTA V in 2017.
The Cunning Stunts DLC was the last update I really enjoyed. By that point, prices of assets were skyrocketing, they were making you buy multiple properties for new content without allowing you to sell off your old businesses that you weren't using anymore, and the game was losing the interest of myself and my friends. By 2017, my interest shifted to Rocket League, which I still play regularly. I got GTA V last year when it was free on the Epic store but didn't play for long. I spent more time getting money drops from modders than I did playing the game because you basically had to pull a 9-5 to be able to afford anything. And then came back again for a short period when the Tuners DLC came out. Other than that, it's a dead game. It's been dead for years. For some reason, people keep buying shark cards and giving Rockstar a reason to pump more resources into the game.
One day I hope there will be a new open world Dev that'll compete with rockstar just like how AEW competes with WWE

I deleted red dead about 7 months ago, haven't looked back! The only way I would play online again is if it's completely redone, imo it's just a boring grind fest, story mode is far far better

When I hopped on Red Dead Online on day 1, it astounded me how little content it had, even compared to GTA Online's launch. There were no heists (an absolute no brainer) and there wasn't anything there. This caused the player base to drop significantly almost instantly, so why would Rockstar support an online for a game they are making no money from? Their biggest mistake was crafting Red Dead Online around microtransactions rather than crafting it around fun, which is what GTA Online was crafted around before Rockstar realized they could make a lot of money from it. They forgot how to create an online that's fun and feature filled first, before worrying about the microtransactions. I'm honestly shocked they haven't dropped update support for Red Dead Online completely. They really dropped the ball with the launch of Red Dead Online, and there's not much luck reviving it after the fact
This is an interesting topic. The answer is really simple when you break it down.
1. Return on investment, online content generates more revenue per dollar spent in development.
2. Lack of quality staff. The gaming industry has become so toxic to work in that many AAA publishers rely on outsourcing and younger less experienced developers because a lot of the more experienced developers don’t want to deal with their shit.
Not sure they need a lots of developers for another DLC, but artists and designers who can use their editor tools to make new content.

Im guessing the reason why Red Dead Online isn’t getting the same amount of effort is that it’d be more profitable to just work on GTA Online, since it already has a bigger and more loyal playerbase. It’s not about making the players happy, that takes effort

This online mode has so much potential and it is not even time-consuming to export things from the single player and make something new out of it, but they still don't do it, instead it bugs and has nothing but a seaon pass that you can have ready in 3 days, you can't even spend your money on useful things

Honestly I heavily agree with this video. Rockstar needs to talk to the player base, it needs to add things that make the game interesting.
It needs to stop adding ridiculous hover cars and overpowered hover bikes.
It has to keep up, or its gonna get left in the dust when somebody else does their job but better.
When games as service is the business model, they "must" keep the game update with contents to expand the lifespan.
I'm kinda mad on Rockstar, when the game that are this old like GTAO, still can't do much of the freedom, not to mention how they deal with money glitches vs. how they deal with cheaters.

I've said it for years, Rockstar may make good single player but when it comes to online they are worse than EA. Game breaking bugs radio silence. Bugs where you can make money fixed overnight. They are there they just don't care about it unless it hurts card purchases.
Sadly as long as GTA is kicking RDO will be the ginger step child. The reason why is the crap they pulled in the early days with the extremely high prices and literally dollars payouts. I know people who still won't play because of that.
I love RDO but man it just gets discouraging to play after awhile knowing its potential but Rockstar just doesn't do anything with it. Honestly with how they handled it they really turn me off of their future games. If I buy it to play with friends is it going to be another RDO?
With the RDO survival they nerfed the payouts btw. So now they aren't really worth it. The one cool thing they add they kill it. Color me surprised.

But regardless of Grand Theft Auto VI, I won't bother with that game nor will I bother with the release of the Definitive editions of GTA3, VC, or SA. On top of the many issues explored in this video, another thing pops up.
In GTA Online, the missions never update. Why can't we get a mission to derail a train for our weapons in Cayo? Why can't we steal new update vehicles for Import Export? They only release new missions but never update them. They don't actually expand the world of GTA. Whatever mission you play is Whatever the time was the day it released. By updating older missions, You expand the gta world and make it legitimately cannon that it evolves with the time, Rather then only sticking the current time to freemode and the brand new content.

Hey R* I've got some info for you, I pre-bought GTA V for PC this was 60€, until then I haven't spent a single penny on your games.
On Ubisoft games: I've bought The Crew, The Crew 2, Watch Dogs 2, and all of their respective DLC's, that's over twice €.
On EA games: I've bought Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed 2015, Need for Speed Payback, Need for Speed Heat, and as always, every DLC, I don't even know how much money is that.
Now put 2+2 together and think why I've done this, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I have however bought the crew, the crew 2, watchdogs 1,2 and 3. Assassin creed odyssey, Valhalla.
I’m also a massive fan of need for speed franchise, I used to play underground 2 on the ps2. The only recent ones I purchased were like heat, most wanted and payback. I’ve also bought other EA games like fifa 18, 20, and will be buying 22 as well. I’m not doing this to boycott rockstar games just all the other games I mentioned also looked good to me.
I don’t see the point spending money on micro transactions when I can just use glitchs and make millions in no time. I agree that rockstar has gotten lazy and don’t really care about consumer but rather all that matters to them is filling there fat pockets for minimal effort.
And they WONDER why RDO didn't make the money they wanted. I played it SOO much, I kept waiting for those story missions that NEVER came! If they had fully fleshed that out WITH robberies, heists, and QOL stuff, it could've been incredible and it would've made them a TON of cash.
