Thanks for a helpful video! There are literally dozens upon dozens of videos showing how to replace a regular fuse, yours is the rare one on how to handle the bigger ones. They look as if they are plug-in but NOT all are, some if not most must be unscrewed.
I did this and some notes: The air filter box definitely needs to be unbolted, there's no way to get access to the studs without it. I just taped the replacement fuse back in because it's such a hassle to get at that I didn't want to have to do this whole operation again if there was an underlying cause to the alternator fuse blowing. Power works fine, still won't start. Thinking it might be the starter, but I think there is a starter fuse to check, too. This whole thing took me 2 hours, though, and it was a total b*tch and a half. You're going to need extensions for your wrenches for the air filter box and the studs holding the alternator fuse for sure. I also was able to remove the pipe from the air filter box and remove it completely, just put a screwdriver between the pipe's little tab and pull it out - was pretty easy.
OMFG! I cleaned some oxidation off of my negative battery terminal last night, reconnected it, started the car, and then all my dash lights went out. I can't believe I'm going to have to go through all that just for a stupid fuse! What moron designs systems like that?
