    As a former CCT I will always appreciate our SMA Airmen. Y'all keep us going and it is appreciated.

    My dad is the airforce. And he is my role model and hero. He works security. And i want to join the airforce because of him. This looks like something i want to do when im older and hopefully i can become. And make my father proud of me.

    Amazing how technical it's become. I was 1A7X1 on the HH-60 15+ years ago and the vast majority of my tech school was focused on gunnery and maintaining the weapons platforms. A little bit of systems familiarization so you could help out the flight engineer as needed, but not much.

    Would love this job but it has no civilian marketability at all so I’m torn on which AFSC to choose. Also seems like very intense training

      @Dust I agree but that won’t last forever. When he has to retire he might not have as much as if he goes civilian marketability

      @@RatKing-wx1mp Exactly, go into military to do stuff you'd never get to do in the civilian world. Then when you get out go to school on the GI Bill and learn something marketable on the civilian side.

    What’s the score you need to make on the ASVAB to get this job

    I have a 91 ASVAB and would love this job, but am pretty bad with mental and quick math. With a 91 does that mean I could learn everything needed for this job? Or should I find something else

      @@Bralvek what does the math help with in this job?

    • @Bralvek
      @Bralvek ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@squiddy5889 depending on airframe you will use more or less math. You'll have to calculate weight and balance and center of gravity with some simple formulas. Helicopters will calculate take off and landing data depending on weight of aircraft + cargo. Dependent on some variables you'll be responsible for figuring out if the aircraft has the performance needed to pick up and ground parties and their cargo, but it's all simple formulas and charts you run to figure that stuff out.

      @@squiddy5889 it is possible to get a waiver for height I'm not 100% about this job in particular, but we have a couple female pilots that are under 5'4. They usually do a test where you have to reach a certain height over your head.
