    I have a lot of respect for this woman. Being just 15, she probably knew she couldn't give him what he deserved in life, so she made the ultimate sacrifice. I'm so glad they reunited.

      Respect a woman for giving up her child ?

    • @TaraVon
      @TaraVon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@jesuslover5968 - Why? Are you saying she doesn’t deserve respect for realizing that she was just too young to provide her baby the life she wanted him to have? That she was still technically a child herself at only 15. Would she deserve respect if she had an abortion instead?
      I would imagine that would be the toughest decision a mother could make for her child in giving him up to someone who could provide at the time what she couldn’t. And keep in mind, we don’t know how she conceived him. But regardless, she made the best choice for her and her baby. Every women should be afforded the same choice over her autonomy, regardless of the situation.

      Most don't now. It was 50 years ago when it was considered taboo to tell your child. However, I grew up in the 1960's and remember kids I went to school that were adopted and knew it because they told it; but I also knew a set of twins that were who never said anything. Their mother had told my mom and My mom said for me not to tell in case they did not know.

      @@abolisher Look @ it from the biological mom's perspective having to give up the baby you let grow inside you and gave birth too. You can't discredit her being a real parent by making the real parent decision to give him up. The hardest thing you will ever have to do is let go of your child in any capacity. Either that be for adoption or losing them in death. For all you know you might be adopted. Now THAT would be the ultimate pun to your post kid. 🤣

    I was adopted at birth, i love my adopted family because i didn't see it as a negative because they picked me to love, my bio mother had put me up for adoption because she wasn't in a safe place to care for herself and a baby and was essentially trapped in this situation, once she put me up for adoption she was finally able to get somewhere safe, go back to school and find a job, it took four years for her to do. When i was six i got to meet her with my adopted family and the first thing i said to her was " hi mommy" i live with my adopted family but do spent time at her home often, my bio dad is also in the picture (teen parents he was not the reason my mom was unsafe) i got to meet my dad that day too, im extremely lucky to have grown up with two loving families because i know so many people don't.

    To give a child the chance to have a more stable, successful, supported life is such an incredible gift. My family and I would love to grow through adoption but I am so afraid I won’t have the right answers that adopted kids need. We all want our biological parents to love us, no matter what they have done to us; it is an integrated characteristic to desire and ask about that bond. I can’t imagine doing a closed adoption unless someone’s life was at risk.
    It is such a blessing to hear a story like this and see adults working together to give this fellow a loving and supportive family that is a blend of biological and adoptive. What a joy it must be for them to watch him succeed and learn more about his identity as a person and an adoptee!!

    • @DezaRay24
      @DezaRay24 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As an adoptee myself adoption is way more traumatic than people want to believe it is. People are always telling us how blessed, lucky, and grateful we should feel and be yet inside that’s not always how it is. We literally lose our entire genetic family including our known mothers that we are genetically bonded to, to play Stockholm syndrome with strangers for our rest of our lives.
      Now that us adoptees are finally speaking our truth about adoption, and that the narrative of adoption is not always fairytales and rainbows we are gaslit by the general public and told that we need therapy, that we just had a bad adoption, that we’re just angry, how ungrateful we are, etc…. We don’t have to feel grateful for something that we did not consent to.
      Y’all need to stop putting adoptive parents on these imaginary pedestals! And definitely take God out of adoption. God did not make a woman pregnant so she can just incubate a baby for somebody else, because she was in such a detrimental position that she could not raise her own flesh and blood. God is a God of family preservation, not family separation.

      I said an adoptee myself you need to STFU! Being relinquished at birth, and losing your known mother is more traumatic. It has been proven by the American pediatrics that it wires are brain for trauma. It puts us in a state of trauma mode for the rest of our lives. My adoptive parents abused me in every single way imaginable. So no adoption does not equal loving caring parents. So just stop 🙄

    unless there's abuse, children should always get to know who their biological parents are and have the opportunity to know them from earliest possible age, whether adopted or sperm donor children or whatever...

      Yeah but are those siblings your genetics siblings? It’s much different when you’re an actual Adoptee and you have siblings that have zero genetic make up of yourself. 🙄

    One thing for sure in life, you can never have too many people that love you. He has two sets of parents that love him like their own. In that he's lucky.

    It's truly heart-wrenching to witness a young mother, who was still a child herself, being forced to part with her newborn child. The agony that is unmistakably evident in those photos, as she surrenders her baby to his new parents, is simply unbearable. However, amidst the sadness, there is a glimmer of solace knowing that his adoptive parents are compassionate and affectionate. Nevertheless, it is my utmost desire that no mother ever has to endure such a harrowing experience.

    I always wanted to meet my real dad. After learning disturbing facts about him. I should be looking for my little brother. I wish I knew of him but he's probably dead or making a good life. I truly hope so.
