GOD that GameCube startup gives me insane nostalgia. It has got to be my biggest nostalgia trigger, anytime I hear it I’m instantly transported back to my childhood, literally dozens of memories flood into my mind in less than a second.

Looks like the original owner buried it in their backyard for a couple years and then came back for it. The bugs and grime inside were gnarly. Love your vids, and that you go the extra mile in your cleanings/repairs, even down to the screws!!
Here is a couple more suggestions for the yellowing of the cables: 1. Baking soda. 2. Bleach. 3. Cream peroxide, set it out in the sun for 3-4 hours. Great video.

Sakurai wanted people used to playing Smash on gamecube controller to be able to transfer their muscle memory over from melee. they figured it'd be a good idea to sell a wii brawl bundle with new GCCs in case people's old controllers were showing signs of wear, though it was only made available in japan. releasing new controllers is a tradition that's continued for every smash title since, though the JP whites have long been considered the highest quality stock GCCs money can buy, at least for smash.

I tried opening and tinkering with my GC controller, I opened and tinkered successfully, but couldn’t get it to go back together, but I remembered this video and carefully looked at what you did and figured it out. The circley thing in the center of the motherboard was backwards 😂😅 but I put it back together and it works fine and better now. Thanks a billion! Hey odd, I found an indigo Nintendo GameCube controller at a local collectible store, got it with broken sticks. They included replacement sticks for free, so I opened it up (I already had tri-wing drivers) and replaced the sticks. There was bad dirt build up, but I repaired the entire controller, and it looks and works like new, your videos inspire me to do similar things, and I really enjoy it. Also the isopropyl alcohol worked like magic :)
Behold the power of the magic sponge. Might take a while but that's the most useful cleaning product I have in my house. I always keep a box under every sink I have.

For those wondering the little dot on the screw usually represents that is a JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) type screw.
Makes sense given that white gcn controllers were only released in jpn and you had to import them.
