I tried opening and tinkering with my GC controller, I opened and tinkered successfully, but couldn’t get it to go back together, but I remembered this video and carefully looked at what you did and figured it out. The circley thing in the center of the motherboard was backwards 😂😅 but I put it back together and it works fine and better now. Thanks a billion! A few months ago I came across this channel at 3am and got hooked. Last week I restored my old Gameboy and I'm about to start restoring a second I bought online, thanks for showing me how easy and fun it is to restore broken electronics :)
they were made for the wii, oddly enough. Sakurai wanted people used to playing Smash on gamecube controller to be able to transfer their muscle memory over from melee. they figured it'd be a good idea to sell a wii brawl bundle with new GCCs in case people's old controllers were showing signs of wear, though it was only made available in japan. releasing new controllers is a tradition that's continued for every smash title since, though the JP whites have long been considered the highest quality stock GCCs money can buy, at least for smash.

Hey odd, I found an indigo Nintendo GameCube controller at a local collectible store, got it with broken sticks. They included replacement sticks for free, so I opened it up (I already had tri-wing drivers) and replaced the sticks. There was bad dirt build up, but I repaired the entire controller, and it looks and works like new, your videos inspire me to do similar things, and I really enjoy it. Also the isopropyl alcohol worked like magic :)

Makes sense given that white gcn controllers were only released in jpn and you had to import them.
