Honestly hated that Lip never reached his full potential. Really none of the Gallaghers did except maybe Carl. Lip was so smart he had college offers and scholarships rolling in after getting caught CHEATING in a nationally mandated test for students. Shame we never got more of smart Lip
I see it differently. During lip’s low points in the show, we get a lot of allusions (and direct references) to the fact that Lip is almost exactly like Frank. Lip’s full potential in the show was never to be an intellect - it was to be a better man and father than Frank ever was.
4:48 I think the plan changed as the show went on, but I'm pretty sure this was intended to be "and that was the high point of Carl's life, and the happiest he would ever be." All season long people have been really concerned about how weird and violent Carl is, and this is the one time his violence saved the day.
People are saying that it’s disappointing Lip never reached his full potential by capitalising from his intellect. But honest I can understand why his character turned out the way he did. Knowledge can sometimes be a double edge sword. Sometimes the more you know the more you’re burden by your own thoughts. But as long as we’re content with our lives who cares?
Wtf?? Lip was never content with himself or his life- that would be Frank. Lip is the biggest disappointment of this show and sadly there are many like him in real life
I loved that Lip didn't finish college. College is where you learn how to work for someone else . In general, the Gallaghers always found ways of making money. As someone with a masters degree. I admire people with street smarts, not people with some piece of paper.
@@leonardo899that’s not it. He’s highly gifted and there are not many people that have such a high iq… everyone wants to be smart but no one wants to be that smart. There aren’t many people like him and most highly gifted individuals show some type of asynchronous development or have problems to adapt in society.
You know what i found that's interesting? I understand thinking that everyone takes something creatively from something else. Inspirations, cliches, homages, theft. Whatever you wanna call it. You can write a sitcom about a married couple and never seen the honeymooners. Not an episode. Unless you wanna be pedantic and say all tv is connected because of the domino effect of pop culture osmosis. I genuinely feel this show has its own identity. I think YOU put those connections to other shows because theyre what YOU know. But do you know if writers were thinking that? Im on shrooms rn, so sorry if this is weird lol I just thought it was interesting to describe a show through the lense of your own experience with other shows and movies. Very Abed.
@@zelven6109 I'm still gonna find it interesting sober. It's a mild trip at best, friend. Doesn't change how people perceive and /or project upon stories.
It isn't the ability to pass tests that matters. Any factual regurgitating robot can do it. The keener interest is innovative thought. Getting around barriers is far more interesting than clawing through them.
Lip didn't cheat. he was good at taking tests, especially the SAT test. The questions on the SAT test aren't that difficult, what is difficult is completing all of the questions in the allotted time. If you get a perfect score on the SAT test what do you get? They send you a one page letter that says you did well, nothing more. Most peole frame the letter and hang it on their mom's wall.
First seasons were the best, than to much gayness trans and all that sht hapening in usa movies at that time, what I hated they remove Steve, than Fiona who was like the main actor at first, they turned Carl in to a pussy in next seasons, now Frank could had been main actor, but slowly the cool caracter had so many problems, I never understood why they try to kill him in a river

He became an accomplished chef in Chicago. You can't convince me otherwise.

Well blame Frank cause the son of a bitch ruined his life
Does anyone really ever reach their full potential?
@@wadu4983a few people that grow in healty enviroments yes
They cheering like Carl didn’t just end that man’s entire football career
The guy did smash the face of and threaten their brother
Don't beat and throw his brother out the window then, kid got off easy
That guy ended his own career. Choices and consequences
That big kid was pretty good at joking. So he can be a comedian instead.
He chose to cheat and he chose to hurt others when it didn’t work. F#ck anyone who defends this wannabe, he wouldnt have lasted in the pros anyway.
Carl like, "well, i wasnt"
Carls always been that nigga
I see Richard Schweitkart abandoned his law firm gig after Howard’s death
Didn't even have to change his wardrobe! Literally just left the set of Better Call Saul and strolled into his next role
I was hoping someone would recognize him. I thought he'd be more present in the series instead of one episode only

Being heavily neglected will leave you with shitty emotional stability and the lack of social skills needed to succeed.

Jamal jackson is what got him caught
I wish lip reaches his full potential
Sweet summer child
Doubt it he’s trailer trash😊
The whole point of the show is that the main cast is SHAMELESS, they don't and won't because thats the entire point
@@XsuperXrcrazyXThere's no relation to being shameless and reaching your true potential.
He really thought he was Mike Ross
um actually this came out before suits 🤓👆
he was better
@@samuelfahim6355 um actually no one gives a fuck
nobody can be like me
Carl just hit a Homerun.😅
Didn't even realize that it was Lip in the screenshot. Just shows how young they all were in this clip.
This show can’t decide if it is seventh Heaven, good will hunting, 8 mile or a myriad of other cliches… and it is still entertaining somehow
You dont always need to be the inventor
Massive Malcolm in the Middle vibes

Couldve got a scholarship for that swim move😅
That first bar straight facts.
Why would they just sit there as the guy chased lip?
Threat is crazy
Somehow I completely forgot about or never saw the part where Liam takes that fools knees
So glad lipocrite never reached his potential but also very annoyed he did not
you're not that smart if you don't realize you shouldn't let the other guys get roo high scores, to avoid suspicion
Carl being carl xD
well, it looks like you won't be playing ball afterall; fuck the tests lmfao
0:27 he reminds me so much of Thomas Shelby/ Cillian Murphy here
Too bad this storyline went to shit
i love this scene where ian mandi and lip hang out
she was karen
thats not mandy lmao
Rich shwechart
He's a good actor!
Big boy was moving
is that geiko ?
Its shameless us or uk?
Both, but this one is the US version
Lip was always a smart guy at heart not a alcoholic thug 💔so sad
both can be true
the show used to be so good
He the guy from the Claw?
Why is Tire mad at Lip, it’s not Lip’s fault for his situation?
"impossible"
Carl was the goat
Yeah, it's not a *bad* show, but it's definitely a show about bad people none of which really have any serious redeeming qualities.
