Tamar’s range is unbelievable!!! Seriously one of the best voices I have ever heard. When she gets into that upper register I get chills all over!!!

ImperfectbutRedeemed i've seen Toni live in concert, she most definitely can sing that high and sustain it.
Toni has a natural dark and deep voice. However, yes she can reach and sustain the highest notes of an Alto maybe even High Alto but when she does or well when she did it was very brief and had been done the way the song required. She can't naturally sing Soprano that's why Tamar and Traci is there if Toni could belt like Tamar or Traci perhaps but she just can't that's why she has a unique way of incorporating runs and vibrato in her lower notes she sings more on the brink of Tenor usually. So, don't let a few occurrences fool you for example I am a natural Tenor but I have taught myself to sing soprano (Operatically) so therefore certain Soprano songs or demanding roles yes I can sing it and sustain it but it won't be as natural as a soprano would be for that part and after prolonged usuage of Head Voice and Falsetto to reach certain notes I will either Strain, Crack, Lose Control or just have to switch the notes altogether same as Toni. :)

Paul Yuh Muddah Come Toni is one of those singers who has more range than she uses. She sticks to her comfort range but just listen to the climax to "Unbreak My Heart" and how she sustained that belt with resonance. Also listen to the climax of "Hands Tied". I know she's not a soprano but she can definitely sing 2nd soprano if she WANTED to but she is very comfortable in her low mezzo-soprano range.

James Brown traci was hoarse at one point she tried to sing the "it is well" lead and she was so raspy and Trina tells her "no. Too hoarse" lol that soprano was definitely Tamar. If it was Tracy you would've heard a more full breathy sound
