The Clark Sisters had/have a much more sophisticated understanding and practice of the vocal blend, additional the tuning of 'The Clarks' is much more accurate than 'The Braxton's. When Toni Braxton coaches them, the sound has more finesse and balance. They do, sing some nice harmony, but so do Destiny's Child. The Clarks are the example to be followed.
Nah, I’ve never heard anyone as tight as the Clark sisters. I do love the braxtons though, their album So Many Ways (Tamar, Trina, Towanda) is good. It’s a shame they didn’t last long as a group or get a few more albums out.

This is crazy but when she sang He must have a dingaling of gold, you could hear her deep rich gospel tones right up to a high range that just blew me away. I wish she would sing a ballad with very little accompaniment, maybe justs a piano so you could really hear her sing.

Tamar is, in my opinion, a lyric-spinto coloratura soprano with killer technique and near perfect pitch when her voice is rested/warmed up properly. One of the greatest voices of the 2010's. The Braxton sisters as a unit are one of the best vocal groups of the last 30 years. Together they are responsible for Toni's signature sound heard in her first three albums that made her one of the best selling and most well-known artists of all time. Excellent video with obscure clips and good sound quality.
No she has relative pitch. Perfect pitch is when you can identify or duplicate pitch w/o a reference note. Relative pitch is when you can identify/duplicate intervals and key to a reference note, so she's always in key lol. Also I agree with coloratura, but Spinto's have a heavier, robust tone. Tamar is bright and ringy at neutral position, she's just so good she can dominate any soprano repertiore.

@@joohsay as far as I know they grew up singing at home as a group infront of their mother who made them all practice all the time. I never heard any thing about Toni getting a special training. And anyway training will never give anyone a good tone. That is something a person is born with. God's gift. Anybody can sing but not everybody has a beautiful tone.
I love how they acknowledged Toni for giving them this platform. It touched me hearing that because Toni always wanted them all to win. That's amazing. Big sisters are the best. Definitely a second mother to us younger ones.

I had the awesome opportunity of meeting Traci Braxton at the Black Caucus in DC. I was on the floor level where there were Vendors and Fashion Designers. There were the Wilbourn Sisters Designs and Traci came over to where we were and tried on one of the sisters designs. This red jacket that she tried on and modeled it for us. She was such a joy to be around and down to earth. Her humble and friendly spirit was felt. She is so hilarious. We laughed the whole time and took photos, and group photo with the Wilbourn Sisters. She will not be forgotten. R.I.P Queen!❤❤❤❤

It's heartwarming to see their profound respect and adoration of their elder sister Toni the living legend. In the absence of Toni, the way the other 3 look to Tamar for vocal direction shows they appreciate Tamar's unique gift despite the fact they all are obviously talented. The way they're able to burst out singing forming lyrics along on the spur of the moment is just so amazing; the definition of a divinely gifted family.
They harmonize so well together. I think Trina plays her singing down. Traci has a beautiful voice as well. Tamar and Toni I feel like are together with their voices. And towanda does the low register good
Trina definitely played her singing down and I don't think she really cherished it because her vocal ability was only a step under Tamars range wise. Same with Traci if Traci had kept singing over the years her and Tamar would be on the same level
After watching this whole video, I'm really glad that Traci got her chance to live her dream with making an album and solo performances. Singing with her sisters seems to be a happy place for her.

I absolutely LOVE the Braxtons. These women thanks to Ms Evelyn and Mr.Braxton , they made them all stars in my opinion. Each sister represents a different vocal range in their singing assemble. The harmonies are the tightest I've heard in a long time. I usually associate these types of harmonies with gospel musicians. Their ability to be so versatile in different music genres is amazing. Better late than never...They've ALL made it as far as I'm concerned. Toni you can rest your mind now. Job well done. Kudos to them. They definitely deserve all of their accolades. Toni's voice makes me question my sexuality. Tamar's voice takes me in peace, Trina's voice is so pretty, Traci voice is nice and Towanda is a group singer.
I love Toni's voice when I was a little girl the choir director at our church wanted to work with me because my voice was deep and raspy but I didn't want to do it because I didn't like my voice I was ashamed of my voice because kids would always pick on me whenever I would speak. As I got older the fist time I hears Toni I was in the 6th grade I fell in love with her and I have loved her ever since and I got to see her at Winstar in Oklahoma in 2016 I cried my lil heart out now I have a daughter and her voice is deep but not as deep as mine was but she sings in the school choir n church she sings everywhere she goes and she sings songs from the 90s she loves Toni and Whitney Houston

Well my opinion in growing up in black church going singing family that's high in the church ranking is it's not all what it seems to be. It's mostly all staged production lights camera action before there was even cameras. Soo to be born last with a full performance production going on is not easy for any baby and it gets worst when they mold you into a singer especially a soprano. In black churches like theirs and my old one they put extreme pressure on sopranos to deliver. It's almost like the whole church is only judged based on how good their singers are. It has nothing to do with God. It's just a man thing. So when we shape a child any child to deliver to make everyone looks good especially their dad that was the pastor of their church it's a lot and it shows. So we force sopranos to deliver then get upset when they carry in order to get the job done. It's really sad. All to collect tithe that don't even belong to pastors. It belongs to the poor, fatherless and widow and stranger in the gates said Deuteronomy. It's just so much I can relate to them. But I understand your perspective. It can be taken like that sooooo easy. But out of all of them she has wanted to sing the most because they all were singing before her yet. To get attention she had to sing. The poor girls voice problem only got so powerful because it had to be just to get any attention. Look at how they practice then perform. You can tell they look to her to make the crowd pleased. Toni admitted once how when tamar was her back up singer she had tamar doing all her high notes on stage performances that she couldn't do like in the studio when she recorded the track. Well she said one night tamar was upset and didn't want to sing her note and she was like my backup is to close to me. But it shows the responsibility they put on her to perform then got mad when she takes over to get the job done the best. Towanda admitted she never wanted to sing. She wanted to I think she said do realestate but on the fix my life show from wayyyyyy back in the day she said tamar stole her dream of singing when she left solo but they didn't blame that on Toni. Tamar just always only wanted to sing. Trina only wanted to do pop. And Traci wanted to just be with them. Tamar only had one thing. Singing and it didn't change. Love them all

Tony is a natural. She has the most beautiful voice. Comes natural. Not forced. It's just beautiful. I can listen to her all the time. Gospel or R&B. She is truly gifted. She doesnt need high notes.

I had the awesome opportunity of meeting Traci Braxton at the Black Caucus in DC. I was on the floor level where there were Vendors and Fashion Designers. There were the Wilbourn Sisters Designs and Traci came over to where we were and tried on one of the sisters designs. This red jacket that she tried on and modeled it for us. She was such a joy to be around and down to earth. Her humble and friendly spirit was felt. She is so hilarious. We laughed the whole time and took photos, and group photo with the Wilbourn Sisters. She will not be forgotten. R.I.P Queen!❤❤❤❤

I absolutely LOVE the Braxtons. These women thanks to Ms Evelyn and Mr.Braxton , they made them all stars in my opinion. Each sister represents a different vocal range in their singing assemble. The harmonies are the tightest I've heard in a long time. I usually associate these types of harmonies with gospel musicians. Their ability to be so versatile in different music genres is amazing. Better late than never...They've ALL made it as far as I'm concerned. Toni you can rest your mind now. Job well done. Kudos to them. They definitely deserve all of their accolades. I love Toni's voice when I was a little girl the choir director at our church wanted to work with me because my voice was deep and raspy but I didn't want to do it because I didn't like my voice I was ashamed of my voice because kids would always pick on me whenever I would speak. As I got older the fist time I hears Toni I was in the 6th grade I fell in love with her and I have loved her ever since and I got to see her at Winstar in Oklahoma in 2016 I cried my lil heart out now I have a daughter and her voice is deep but not as deep as mine was but she sings in the school choir n church she sings everywhere she goes and she sings songs from the 90s she loves Toni and Whitney Houston

Well my opinion in growing up in black church going singing family that's high in the church ranking is it's not all what it seems to be. It's mostly all staged production lights camera action before there was even cameras. Soo to be born last with a full performance production going on is not easy for any baby and it gets worst when they mold you into a singer especially a soprano. In black churches like theirs and my old one they put extreme pressure on sopranos to deliver. It's almost like the whole church is only judged based on how good their singers are. It has nothing to do with God. It's just a man thing. So when we shape a child any child to deliver to make everyone looks good especially their dad that was the pastor of their church it's a lot and it shows. So we force sopranos to deliver then get upset when they carry in order to get the job done. It's really sad. All to collect tithe that don't even belong to pastors. It belongs to the poor, fatherless and widow and stranger in the gates said Deuteronomy. I actually feel for them all but God has a rest for all who believes in deed on Jesus Christ

It's just so much I can relate to them. But I understand your perspective. It can be taken like that sooooo easy. But out of all of them she has wanted to sing the most because they all were singing before her yet. To get attention she had to sing. The poor girls voice problem only got so powerful because it had to be just to get any attention. Look at how they practice then perform. You can tell they look to her to make the crowd pleased. Toni admitted once how when tamar was her back up singer she had tamar doing all her high notes on stage performances that she couldn't do like in the studio when she recorded the track. Well she said one night tamar was upset and didn't want to sing her note and she was like my backup is to close to me. But it shows the responsibility they put on her to perform then got mad when she takes over to get the job done the best. Towanda admitted she never wanted to sing. She wanted to I think she said do realestate but on the fix my life show from wayyyyyy back in the day she said tamar stole her dream of singing when she left solo but they didn't blame that on Toni. Tamar just always only wanted to sing. Trina only wanted to do pop. And Traci wanted to just be with them. Tamar only had one thing. Singing and it didn't change. Love them all
